When someone shoots you while you're on duty, I think you have right to be pissed off. When you discover you have the ability to make sure the nasty little scrote does time in the afterlife, even if the conventional courts let you down, it's an 'accident' waiting to happen... Good police officers are hard to find so when PC Nick Kerridge finds himself waking up in the afterlife he's offered a job much like his last one. Only instead of collecting people with outstanding warrants against their names, he's collecting overdue souls. Frustrated by the fact that Nick's murderer continues to be on the loose the team decide it's time to bend the rules a little and reap some overtime... With the added benefit of real police procedure enhancing the story this is a comedy drama that is sure to rise in the ranks - BookReviewer.com

This was a time where my finger hovered between 4* and 5*. It is a 4*+ read.

The blurb gives the basic premise and I don't feel the need to repeat it. The humour is dark. The plot works as it goes along giving details that a layman can understand about police procedure and how it would apply to after death procedures too.

There are a lot of characters that you learn enough about to either like, tolerate or dislike. It isn't the ride of your life to read as it happens afterwards.

A quirky British read that deserves a wider audience.
