Review:  WE ARE THE INFECTED [DEXT OF THE DEAD #2] by Stephen D. Kuhn

I am really enjoying this series--it may make a Zombie-lover of me yet! Mr. Kuhn's writing is so smooth, and suspension of disbelief is so immediate and automatic--I'm cruising right along in the story, glance up, there's a zombie--oh, no problem! Just natural fact! It's so easy to let the story take over--gotta love it!

The ending is insane, miscarriage then zombie eats the premature baby. Did not see that one coming at all!

So the second book continues right along with the group forging ahead in search of the military group. One of the members in their group is bitten and they are waiting to see if he can fight the infection. This shows their human nature and also, a very dire mistake.

Nonetheless, this group of people continue to grow ever closer as a family and are always there for each other. They have spats and arguments but they are growing closer than ever.

The character development continues seamlessly from the first book and is realistic and enjoyable. You really start to see more of who each character is and they each have their own voice.

Despite the fact that this book continues to be written as journal entries, the voice of Dext tells it as a story. It is enjoyable to read the story unfolding as an actual book but then to have Dext interject his own thoughts and quirks into it is interesting.

We get to meet Murphy and Fart...which I think Fart is one of my most favorite characters. We also meet some seriously religious folks who, for me at least, might be creepier than the zombies. We also get to add another military soldier to the mix, Fool.

Of course even with the addition of more people, this group is not without their losses. You never know who is going to die or how, but this author sure keeps it creative and engaging.

With all the twists and surprises this book brings, I couldn't wait to start reading the third installment.

I was given "We Are the Infected" by Steve Kuhn in exchange for an honest review.
Once again Steve has blown me away, book 2 in the "Dext of the Dead" series is even better than the first if thats even possible.

After just missing out on rescue by the military, Dext and his group are on a mission to catch up to them. Along the way the group loses some members, but they also gain a few like a tough old man Murphy and his zombie fighting dog Fart. Kylee also suffers a terrible loss hopefully she can pull through. They meet three crazy christian's who give them some bad news. Also what's going on with the military and what secrets are they hiding?

This series is fast paced and action packed with no shortage of zombie horde's. I love the characters even the new one's. Steve is very thorough with his fight scenes and the story is expertly written. Cant wait to read the next book, I give it 5 stars would give it more if possible. You can find it at amazon for under $5 and it's worth every cent.

I JUST LOVE A GOOD SUSPENSEFUL STORY!

Steve Kuhn does a great job of keeping you guessing what is going to happen next. You never know who will die next. This second book of the "DEXT" series is better than the first.

The ending is abrupt and leaves you wanting more. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, turning page after page. I have begun to become attached to the main group of characters so, its very hard when someone dies or has a serious problem. This happens all too often as the group would have no luck if it wasn't for bad luck.

There are lots of great plot twists and turns and everyone is learning what life on planet Earth is like right now and "Right Now" is all you got. Survival of the fittest.

I am happy to recommend this book to readers that enjoy zombie apocalypse, action, adventure and suspense. Even folks that love a good story. As for me, I am off to purchase number three. KUDOS Mr. Kuhn on a tale well told.

Stephen masterfully continues this series. I am not sure how he does it, but rarely do I find myself cry especially whilst reading a zombie book!!! Now that is skill if you ask me. His writing style is excellent and I thoroughly enjoy reading his books.

His continues to develop the characters which is much better to see now. I really like Dext and am pulling for him, but let's face it, based on how the book started and the fact that it is a zombie book, his odds are slim. But then you never know, it might be the author trying to lead me astray. I will continue reading this series and find out soon :) And no there won't be any spoilers, since I don't believe in giving away the story.

The plot is excellent and Stephen really has some nice twists. Some you can get an idea for, others you are just left hanging until he is ready to let you know.

I absolutely love this series and recommend it to all zombie lovers!

I have received this book from the author for an honest review.

A good second entry to the series continuing the journey for this odd group of characters. More pain and suffering along the way. It's fast paced and really gory. The characters get even more fleshed out as this continues. I thought it was a great read.
