FREEBIES are often good for MORE than one day, I have gathered all my FREEBIES on a special shelf: Kindle-freebies (currently over 500 books) https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
The D/s stuff was a little all over the place for me. I also don't really care for when the Doms don't want you to speak while having sex it's kind of cold and impersonal and I don't like that.
Also the no eye contact is a major part but I hate that. It feels so mean. I don't know. I can't really explain it.
I loved that there was no drama between them, but the story fell sort of flat for me. I think I just built up a big expectation after reading the blurb. It didn't really match up for me, but that isn't to say it's not a book for others.
Not bad. Sweet overly protective hero who when he meets the heroine KNOWS she's the one for him. Heroine is not a push over and seems to have that rare ability to know when to push and when to back off. Drags in some areas with repetitive dialogue and scenes. The stalker subplot was weak.
In the beginning I was intrigued enough to read this D/s novel. I mean it promised hot fighters with some kink so I thought I'd give it a try. Long story short it didn't deliver.
Rafe, The Dragon, seemed a sweet guy, equal parts brain and brawn who quickly falls for chic Katy. I liked his protectiveness and his restraint when it came to Katy and revealing his Lifestyle. What made this one Not For Me was the way Rafe changed from a caring and affectionate man to this overbearing and cold Dom.
It threw me off the whole D/s scene and Katy's intro to this while at the club, Extreme came off as almost clinical ( I don't know if I can explain it) I was reading about this step by freaking step and NONE of it was sensual or titillating in the least. Rafe explained the rules and always assures Katy he is open to negotiating and going only as far as she is willing to go but time and again he pushes until Katy gives in.
By the end I was tired of hearing how he was a Dom and this was his Lifestyle and how he could not and would not change (not even for Katy) basically giving her to understand it was embrace the sub role he wanted her for or he would walk away . Not very romantic and totally turned me off.
This is the start of a series but honestly this was not for me and I wont be checking any more.

I first noticed the cover then I checked the blurb, both were good and out of 14 reviews on Amazon UK 11 were 5* so I started reading. It started well, Katy is having problems with one of the partners at the law firm where she works, he's expecting her to try and sleep her way to the top and is following her home, just to make sure she gets home safely of course. To throw him off track Katy kisses Rafe and gets way more than she expected. Rafe is also thrown and wants more in fact he's amazed at just how much he wants her but will she want him when she discovers what he needs. This book started well but the more I read the more it seemed to be missing something . The first part is a romance it's nice and the characters are good together, although I wasn't a massive fan of Katy having I sort herself out but then I liked that in the beginning he didn't push in fact what he did was the complete opposite of pushing. I like the dual POV's as well but, and here I contradict myself a bit because while I liked that he wanted her so much, that he was afraid she'd bolt once she knew and the thought and care he put into every date but once the book changed and became more focused on his lifestyle then all this took away from him as a Dom and I had trouble reconciling his earlier thoughts with the man he was. I like romance, I need an HEA and I like a man that falls in love totally but especially where BDSM is concerned I like an uncompromising alpha male huge domineering and totally in charge. I also expected the MMA would play a larger part its really only there to introduce the guys.
I adore MMA fighters & novels about their lusty romances, but this one was a little tweaked. In general, it seems as though this series is will be more about Dominants who are fighters...equally dedicated to both of these lifestyle commitments even though the Dom qualities were focused on more than the fighting aspect. I have to admit that I'm a sucker for incredible cover photos/models & this one is pretty awesome, but the book felt a bit disjointed.
The meeting between MMA fighter Rafe Wesson and sexy lawyer, Katy Marks was pretty potent and I thought it was the start of a great book. But, as things progressed I felt strung along just as the relationship between these two. Between lengthy internal monologues about Rafe feeling guilty about not revealing this DOM side and Katy wondering if Rafe was gay, and that was why he didn't move things further along...well the whole thing became rather stifling. The stalker was the guiding force behind Rafe and Katy staying close together, as Rafe insisted on protecting her. Things get dragged out until past midway, in the book, where Rafe's DOM qualities are finally revealed. When that aspect was explored I felt my woman sensibilities being challenged when Rafe wanted to push the DOM/SUB relationship into more arenas, aside from the bedroom (or sex club). At that point, it kind of felt like a chauvinist revival. However, Katy was able to negotiate that aspect well. Both were open about each other's comfort levels and how far to take the BDSM qualities, so at least you had that as somewhat of a relief from Katy becoming a complete doormat, or invisible woman.
Regarding the sex scenes, the first half of the book is all about their personal masturbation sessions since they aren't with each other. So, yeah...not good there....Then, for the latter half of the book, well they explore different sex scenes and scenarios both at home and at this sex club (which incidentally the whole fight club belongs to...OMG). Yeah, there were parts where I thought my face was turning 50 shades of red.....seriously embarrassing...Uh, I'm not sure how I feel about this series....it seems like it will be about DOM/MMA Fighters falling in love with vanilla women and turning them on to their lifestyle. Um, I think that's succinct enough, as an explanation....LOL
The end was too rushed for me, but that seems to be the norm nowadays with novels.
The narrator performed the male voices better than the female. Her female voice sounded like 2 generations back....like I was listening to a grandmother narrate for Katy..LOL...it was weird.
Oh, man did I ever love this book. Okay, let's start with the author writing, man she made me feel her written words in my belly and even curl my toes.
Yes, this book was about a Dom and his Submissive, but I've never read this type of BDSM story before. The best way to describe it would be typical but original if that makes any sense.
I loved how the Dom life wasn't just about sex but other things too and the Submissive had her own life too which she dominates and control, but she could so effortlessly give him control. This was just such a cool storyline and it just flows effortlessly.
Bravo Becca Jameson, Bravo... I must continue this series I just hope the others book are just as good or even better then this one.
I need to start this review by stating that I did listen to it on audiobook and if you read it you might have a different opinion.
The narrator ruined this novel for me. The voice the female protagonist used when being submissive drove me crazy! It was simpering and just so not true to the character it was ridiculous. I almost did a DNF on it to be honest.
Ok to the good stuff. I actually liked the idea of mixing the fighting sub-genre with the BDSM sub-genre. I liked how timid the male protagonist was about sharing his proclivities with the heroine. I liked how he really wanted her to know him before he broached this with him. I also like how he would not have sex with her until she did know who he was totally. The male protagonist Rafe was a 4 star character for me. The female protagonist Katy was likeable and smart right up until she decided to be try being a submissive..then she just hopped on board...and from there she became less believable for me.
I did give the book a 3 star rating because of the potential for it to be a better read than a listen and that the idea of the story and the great hero gives me hope that it is. I also liked the cover. I would not recommend the audio book at all. If you would like to try it...give it a read not a listen.
Title: Come Author: Becca Jameson Publisher: Hartwood Publishing Group Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review:
"Come" by Becca Jameson
My Thoughts...
I guess Katy Marks who was a lawyer never new that from a kiss coming out of her uncle's gym place would get her involved with Rafe Walker who was a hot MMA fighter and also a Dom. However, we find that Katy had other troubles and that was being stalked but by who? Was this someone from her past? This author really presents a interesting plot where the reader will find out a lots about BDSM life where the characters are well developed, strong, smart individuals that live everyday life's. Yes, this author really knows how to give the reader quite a image of foreplay that will keep you turning the pages. So, if you are not into this BDSM then this read may not be for you. There will be a suspense to just who is stalking Kate and how well she seems to enjoy coming out of her shell to this new way of life with Rafe and definitely enjoying having him as her bodyguard. By the end of this story I really enjoyed the interesting synopsis of the story.
Not a fan of BDSM.. can't deal with all the generic plot-lines but this was a nice story..
Besides the sex and such, which was thoroughly skimmed, the story of the two lovebirds was sweet.. The extra background story of a stalker was an added bonus and played into Rafe's pursuit of Katy...
Intelligent accountant, MMA fighter, Dom, protective and hot. Want more in a dream man? Me neither!! Katy is an intelligent, strong women with the good fortune of running in to the hottest guy, Rafe. Sexual tension, romance, some Danger and mystery. Great secondary characters, Hot words, hotter story. Buy this book. Jenna and Mason' s story next..yea this fight club you can definitely talk about! Re-read just as hot!!!
This was my first book about anything MMA, and phewwwwww. I want to go watch a couple smexy guys go a couple rounds with each other now, because reading about them is hot, but I'm sure watching them with all their muscles, and tattoos...has to be better, haha!
I LOVED how Katy introduces herself to Rafe; I seriously need to take notes from this girl, lol!
Katy's uncle runs a gym where Rafe and his crew workout, so it was inevitable for them to eventually meet. Katy has been working her way up the corporate ladder at her law firm, trying to make partner, but it's been tough since she's doing it the legitimate way by actually working...and not sleeping her way up, taking the easy way out. She thinks she has everything all planned out but there are a few things she didn't plan on .
1. A creeptastic-sleezeball at her firm, who's been after what's under her suit for a while and has actually started taken up some extracurricular activities by stalking her.
2. Rafe Wessen - A dominant, ripped with muscles and painted with sexy tattoos that has one thing on his mind...Katy.
3. A threat that Katy never saw coming at all, and it turns her comfortable world upside down, inside out, and over again.
This book was awesome. I love how Rafe treated Katy, he was the perfect gentleman. Introducing her to his lifestyle sort of had me thinking things were going to go bad since it didn't seem like she had a submissive bone in her body, but I'm glad I was wrong! The scenes where they went to his favorite club were HOT! The steam factor of this book is definitely up there, so add in some suspense and this was a winner for me!
3 Stars: I read other books by Jameson and enjoyed them immensely. Come was entertaining enough and has many redeeming qualities, that I'm sure of. I just didn't fall into the characters as I enjoy doing while reading. For some reason, Come, just didn't suck me into the pages, however, again I was entertained.
Must just be with the author living only 90 minutes from me, I was just stuck.... after all, it's been said, write what you know...
Could there be a d/s club in Atlanta?? I know a few years back there was a floating fetish type get together and no alcohol was allowed to be consumed at the party either. Just got me wondering....
It has many redeeming qualities. The characters were likable at best neutral at worst. The writing was much better than expected. I developed an interest that withstood to the end. The plot was nice, somewhat original or had its own unique flair. The writing was good, and the pretense wasn’t half bad, the romance was simmering with few exceptions. The male/female lead showed hints of abuse both verbal and physical, or signs of spot on or forced chemistry. It was a tiny bit predictable. Overall, liked it enough, entertaining.
The writing of Ms. Jameson is simply fabulous and that is not even saying enough. I fell in love with all the characters and I have already scoped out the rest of the books in the series. I love all the big, bad, dom, MMA fighters who permeate the pages of Come. I want to warn all readers do not let the slow build up to the actual sexual acts deter you because when Kay and Rafe truly come together the first time, the collision is as satisfying for the reader as it was for the characters. I highly recommend Come and the amazingly talented Ms. Jameson. Delane Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & More
Began this story on the advice of a friend and it definitely burned the pages. Hot, hot, hot and for those who do not know much about the BDSM lifestyle, Ms. Jameson included great explanations. I have to say I loved the fact that Rafe is this big, buff MMA fighter by night and an accountant by day. I don't think I've see that combination before, which goes to show that the person right next to you could be harboring deep dark secrets of their own. Katy, on the other hand, is a lawyer being stalked and as she makes the first move to make the guy following her see she was unavailable, Rafe was all to happy to assist. Though the first move was Katy's, everything after was mutually beneficial. Great read from beginning to end.
Story about a woman in trouble and her protector an alpha, MMA fighter/accountant, pretty good storyline with a twist but not too much to write home about still a hot tantalizing read narrated by Annie Chapman.
If you're looking for a book where they get it on pretty much straight away, then I'm afraid this book won't be for you. It wasn't until I was atleast 2/3's of the way through, did anything finally happen. I must say that it was well worth the wait!
I do not consider myself a picky reader at all, and I did find this book interesting enough to finish it. My issue with this book was not the characters-I thought the main characters had depth enough to feel real. I really liked the dynamics between Katy and Rafe. I must say, the book started out strongly-I really enjoyed the first half of the book. I did think that towards the end...as the author began to delve deeper into the world of Dominants and Submissives, things began falling flat. My main issue was the club could have been described better to make the scenes and the people appear more natural. The BDSM just did not read well for me inside of the club. I will not be finishing this series.
I love how different Rafe is! Different in the sense that he gets nervous when he first started wooing Katy. Which is rather different from our usual cocky, confident like hell, alpha males.
“I’d invite you to come in and watch the match too, but not this time. You would distract the hell out of me with your cute dimples, and I would get pummeled.”
Did I mention he is a dom as well? Gotta love a man who loves to take charge in the bedroom!
Without thinking, she reached for his head, wanting to weave her fingers into his hair and hold him to her. She was brought up short, however. He didn’t budge when she tugged on her arms. In fact, he held her tighter, not giving her an inch of wiggle room.
Katy’s body burned brighter. Holy shit, she was close to coming again, clothed against his leg. What the hell was the matter with her when she was around him? Who got off so easily with a man they barely knew with their clothes on?
Anyhoo, this book has a very good mix of romance, steam and action which really gets you going. There are elements of bdsm but nothing hardcore nor are they in huge doses, just enough to have you panting for more ;) Don't you love it when alpha males have a way with words and can turn you into a puddle of mush within seconds?
Katy got her first full-bodied look at him. And he took her breath.
His cock bobbed in front of him, still firm and tight. In fact, his entire body could be described as firm and tight. She would never get enough of his chest. His thighs were huge. And every time he turned around she saw that dragon across his back, one with his body as though he were born with the tattoo in place. She licked her lips, subconsciously.
Rafe grinned as he lifted a wash cloth and began to wipe between her legs. “Don’t look at me like that unless you plan to make good use of that sexy mouth of yours.”
There is nothing to dislike about both characters, nothing really striking as well. Though Rafe is darn fking hot...Overall, a good read with very very hot steam!
“No, but you can go without panties for example, as a reminder to yourself throughout the day that you’re mine.”
She shivered. He had her there. In fact, if he was judging her correctly, she liked the way he said “Mine.”
WHOA! This cover had me "coming" straight to 1-click buy. This was a great read! It was about a Dom, Rafe, who falls pretty much instantly for the h, Katy. They meet and before they can even introduce themselves, one of them takes the lead in setting off the fireworks. It's amazingly hot.
What's great about this book, aside from the hot chemistry, is the gentleness that is the beast Rafe. He is sooo gentle, but so in control and perfect. It has Katy and the reader pretty much eating out of his palm.
Rafe is a Dom (very light) and is great at bringing Katy out of her shell and lucks out when he finds that Katy is his perfect idea of a submissive. I love that these two actually communicate. There are no misunderstandings or (stay with me here) making her pee in the yard when she doesn't get it. He could definitely teach some other Doms a thing or two about introducing and respecting sub. While things may be good between them, there is a stalker out there that wants to hurt Katy. Thankfully for her, she's got her own bodyguard wrapped in smex. I for sure recommend this read and can't wait for book # 2!
This story was kinda amateurish and I really struggled to finish it. I really had three problems with the story.
Katy is a textbook TSTL heroine. She had her head in the sand and was completely ignoring signs that she was being stalked not once but twice (I don't remember what happened with the co-worker but that sounds like and HR nightmare what he was doing.) She had no self preservation going on.
Rafe not telling Katy about being a Dom til over half way through the book. This annoyed me to no ends and dragged the story on. I ended up taking a three week pause in the book because it was dragging so much. I wanted to rip my hair out waiting for him to be honest with her (something BDSM books always go on about D/s relationships needing to have...so Rafe and Katy are not off to a great start.)
The BDSM in this book was clinical and really bad. It did not come off at all as consensual to me. It was always focusing on Rafe's wants and needs and Katy tends to be railroaded into it. The focus on Rafe really turned me off from this book.
Katy and Rafe had very good chemistry and I enjoyed their journey of getting to know one another and how easily they connected. He was very protective and sweet with a side of bad boy. A little bit of action, a lot of awesome supporting characters, and a steamy romance. I would definitely continue the series to find out more about these other characters.
