When tiger shifter Cade turns an oily owner of a consultation firm over to the FBI, he finds himself with a hit man on his heels. Chester was in possession of security-breaching national secrets, and even more concerning, evidence that shifters exist, and if it got out, trouble would follow for all shifters. So now Cade is on the run. He holes up in an isolated hideout where he doesn't expect anyone to find him--least of all a former one-night stand. Alpha lion shifter Micah can’t shake Cade from his mind. They spent one glorious night together before Cade ran off without leaving even a name. He’s determined to find his runaway and protect what he's come to think as his despite Cade's one and done rule. He surprises Cade in his secret nest in the forest, learns the reason for Cade's self-imposed exile, and decides to call for help. This nets them a top-of-the-line bodyguard and the one man Micah can’t stand. Stone isn't thrilled either. He can think of better things to do than spend days in the wilderness with the uppity alpha who stomps on his last nerve. Despite their differences and history, they need to find a way to survive and expose the traitor in their midst. They also realize chances at love are fleeting unless you grab the opportunity between your teeth and hold on for one wild ride.

I started reading this while I was out of town and on the road a month back, but since returning, have not even thought about picking it back up to finish it. At this point, I'm content to shelve it as DNF.

I had a lot of problems with this book, largely related to content.

We're told in the summary that Cade is on the run because an assassin is on his tale. He hops around from hotel to hotel and uses fake names to check in. And yet, he feels perfectly safe and OK telling a stranger and random hook-up about his favorite (secret) hideaway in the mountains somewhere. That makes absolutely no sense to me. Though it's obvious later when Micah (the one night stand) wants to find him again, that the author used it as a device to make it easier for Micah to figure out where he went.

After they have sex for the first time, Micah specifically notes that he remains inside Cade instead of immediately pulling out to allow the barbs on his penis to recede to avoid hurting Cade. This makes no sense, as the barbs would have been there the whole time they were having sex, so Cade would have been torn up and hurt anyway.

I literally have no idea what Micah's company does or how it makes money. They keep records of shifters... why? And how does this net him a profit if it's super secret?

Additionally, Micah prides himself on his tiptop security and how careful he is, and yet:

- when Cade asks him if the computers in his tech lab have webcams, he doesn't know
- the facility doesn't appear to have security cameras since they break in under cover of night to install their own
- when they break into the building at 3am to install the security cameras and webcams, there's not a single security guard on site to stop them or ask questions

I can't figure out how Cade was able to hack into anything in Micah's building since Micah claimed that only his and his brother's computer had external internet access and all other systems were strictly internal.

Micah and Stone argue like 5-year-olds, and I've no idea what the actual antagonism between them even was/is? We're told they don't get along, and they argue over really petty shit, but there's nothing to really explain why they don't get along. They just don't.

The assassin and showdown with him was disappointing and underwhelming. He's built up as some sort of unstoppable force, but it takes no effort for them to take him down (and everything he does in pursuit of Cade is the opposite of what a professional would do).

I would advise actual research into how hackers or tech geniuses work, since Cade seems to based on the model supplied by Hollywood, which is wildly inaccurate.

"One and done" was overused. We got it the first 5 times Cade said it. Repetition of the phrase should have been culled.

Description of all the characters as Adonis was overdone. They're all perfectly gorgeous and rock hard, we get it.

I found the author's obsession with bottoming and topping and how super important/special it is for a character like Stone to bottom offensive.

This book had a lot of potential, but it needed a couple rounds with a content editor to work out all the many, many kinks, inaccuracies, and inconsistencies that were present.

A Joyfully Jay review.

The story opens with a restless, frustrated, over worked, and tired Micah having a drink and noticing that none of the men in the bar hold his attention. As he is heading to the exit, Micah sees a man coming in that has his inner lion perking up. He is immediately attracted to the yellow-eyed tiger shifter and his assessment of him is fun as he thinks:

Never before had simply checking out another man produced such an immediate, throbbing need …. Throwing him down on the floor and mounting up would show a huge lack of control, not to poor manners.

As they immediately head out for a one nighter, we get a few brief glances of their shifter traits, such as their keen sense of smell, fangs, and mating barbs (yes those types of barbs). While they are going at each other like cats in heat, I kept getting distracted by terms such as tumescence, member, manhood, sphincter, hard tool. These descriptions showed up throughout the book and pulled me out each time as just not being the sexiest of terms. And while Cade does not tell Micah his name, he does tell him where his isolated cabin is that no one knows about. Their connection is intense and they both feel one night won’t be enough, but Cade has a past he cannot let go of and to protect himself he never sleeps with the same man twice, hence his “one and done” rule. This catchy motto was cute the first time I heard it, maybe even the second, but by the fourth and fifth times I was sort of done with it as well.

My Review ~
What happens when a lion shifter gets all hot and bothered over a fiery tiger shifter? Well you go after that tiger shifter with all your might, and that is pretty much what Micah does with Cade.

We meet our fierce lion shifter, Micah, out one night at a bar, trying to kill the restless edginess he’s been feeling. He spots Cade, who never introduces himself, and ends up going back to Cade’s hotel with him. They end up feeling this super intense connection, but Cade doesn’t believe in forever. In fact, Cade is lucky to believe in the now of things, as his life is in danger and he’s on the run from someone he worked for. After their night of fiery hot sex, Cade up and leaves without a glance back at the man left behind.

Fast forward a bit, and Micah stumbles on a picture of Cade in a story in the newspaper that causes him to worry and decide to go after him. Cade made one small mistake on their night together; he shared with Micah the location of his isolated cabin. Without fail, Micah packs a bag and heads out to find this cabin to see if Cade is hiding there. Cade reluctantly shares what is going on with Micah, who enlists the aid of the Lion Council, but Micah didn’t expect them to send out one of his least favorite people to help protect Cade. Stone and Micah are like oil and water, shake them up and they slide over each other and then they separate and glare at each other. Adding Stone into the mix with Micah and Cade just sets all three of them on fire and makes things a little more complicated.

The suspense portion of the story is actually pretty good, so is the heat between Micah, Stone, and Cade. There were a few little things, however, that just didn’t work—for me anyway—to show that they would be a long term triad. Or, really, even a triad that might work for the short term outside of the wildly fantastic, spicy hot sex. The friction and heat between Stone and Micah would have easily made them a solid couple on their own. Cade almost seemed too indifferent to Micah, even though they were very sexually attracted to each other. I never felt that moment between them where they clicked into place as a solid couple.

Now that’s not to say the story didn’t work for me at all; overall it did. I liked the interaction between Stone and Micah, and Stone and Cade, and then among the three of them together. I would love to see more of the Lion Council and how they work, and more of the Lions themselves. I will definitely look for other books by this author in the future.

I would recommend Feline Persuasion for anyone who likes their shifters hot, Alpha, and sexy as all hell. Also, for those readers that like a little ménage in their romance.

Feline Persuasion is a hot and sexy paranormal romance with a good dose of suspense in it. One of the reasons I enjoy shifter romances is that the mating call allows for the characters to move to the bedroom far sooner than a contemporary romance – well, that and the usual overabundance of testosterone that accompanies an alpha shifter. Ms. Meadows does not disappoint and starts the book off with a one-night stand between Cade and Micah. A hot tiger shifter and a hot ALPHA lion shifter ...YUMMY!!! But Cade is a wham-bam-thank-you-man kind of guy and leaves the next morning without looking back.

The suspense part of the book comes into play when Micah recognizes a picture of his mystery lover in the paper along with a story that causes him quite a bit of worry and he sets off to find his Tiger. Once Micah tracks Cade down and learns why Cade is in hiding he calls his connections on the Lion Council and the cavalry arrives. Stone is not only the best at security and protection, he is also the best at pushing Micah’s buttons. The verbal foreplay between the three (even though Cade refuses a repeat performance with Micah) is amusing and stimulating. As they work together to keep Cade out of danger and to protect the shifter race, the bond between the three strengthens. But once Cade’s safety is assured, Micah leaves Cade and Stone in order to see justice served. In his absence, Cade and Stone take things a step farther and Cade is forced to admit that he doesn’t want to let either man go.

While the development of the relationship between the three men definitely appeased the romantic within, the action between these three super hot cat shifters definitely made my kitty purr (oh yeah, I went there). Ms. Meadows has written an entertaining book that does a great job of balancing romance, suspense and some hot m/m and m/m/m action. I look forward to reading more of her work.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Lions and Tigers and Bears – Oh My! Ok, really, one bear, two lions and a tiger. Sounds like the start of a joke. But no – it’s really a hot, hot m/m/m book by Cheyenne Meadows.

She is a new author for me, but I am grateful to see (based on her website) that she has more coming and soon!

This is a very hot, very well written triad story. First, you have to suspend your disbelief that the three Alpha males would all find happiness with another Alpha (not to mention 2!) but if you let that go – the author does make us see how compatible and caring they are for each other.

The mystery/action part of the story moves along, plays into the back story of the MCs and is exciting, if not terribly full of surprises.

What I liked about the smexy scenes in this book was the constant sexual tension – even though (as you can see in the Blurb) two of the MCs have sex in the first chapter. The author manages to bring us back around to a high level of tension between those two and then compounds it by adding in a third. Very nice.

I thought it was a great book and a fast, easy read. Well edited and nicely written.

I give it 4.5 out of 5 hearts – highly recommended.

This was a very fun book. I loved the interaction between all three main characters it was just plain entertaining. Cade and Micah were the original couple and Stone was added later in the book. While Cade and Stone had never met Micah and Stone had history together and could barely stand one another. It was fun to watch all three guys flirt and try to rile each other but in the end the attraction between the three of them helps them band together to save themselves.

The plot line was interesting, there were plenty of sparks between the characters and in the end all of the secondary plot lines were resolved. Overall it was a short, fun read with some super-hot and caring shape-shifting men! What more can you ask for?

I love shapeshifter stories and the like so I had to try it out. Also there aren't many good M/M/M novels out there, so again, had to try it.

I wasn't too keen on the sex scenes. I guess I didn't really like how they were written. On the flipside I enjoyed the rest of the writing. The plot was unique, if not a bit far-fetched at how some of the pieces fell together as they did. The best part for me was the dialogue and witty banter between our leads. If I reread, I'll probably skip all the sex and just go straight to their playful teasing and sassiness. It was really the strongest bit of writing in my opinion.

Overall, it was a nice read and I would probably read it again. (It probably would have been a 2 star, but all the dialogue really saved it. As it is, it's a 2.5)

Yeah, this was a mistake for me.

DNF @ 10%

I just couldn't do this. Not for me at all- weird sex Couldn't even get to the menage...*sigh*.

On the plus side, I went into this cringing in advance for all the typos and grammar errors I was afraid would be there (still scarred by Texas Pride), and I was pleased to be proven wrong on that score.

This title was originally reviewed for Prism Book Alliance®

Feline Persuasion is the second title by Cheyenne Meadows I have read. I keep looking at her books and thinking "oh that looks interesting". Then, I remember my first experience and cringe. I was less than impressed. However, a reader of this blog asked for us to review Feline Persuasion. Since I am currently in a shifter mood, I thought I would give it a chance. See if the author could change my perception.

Aside from the first chapter detailing the one night stand mentioned in the blurb, most of the book actually deals with things other than sex. Yes, the guys all have an attraction to each other, but there isn't that silliness where they have sex in middle of a dangerous situation where you wonder, can they really not control themselves?

Overall, I liked the fact the author tried to resolve the outside of the bedroom life-threatening situation prior to focusing on the bedroom, though there are certainly plenty of indications that things will end up in the bedroom.

It was not as good as I'd expected it to be. The plot was rather thin, and the romance felt shallow, in which the MCs were only connected by their lust to each other, but I liked the characters themselves. Bonus points for scenes where the MCs shifted into their animal forms and for the author making the council and the MCs not pussyfoot around in taking action and delivering swift and fatal justice to their enemies.

This was okay, but the constant sniping between the two lions kind of got on my nerves. Also the menage doesn't happen until the end and it just sort of happens, with no real discussion. I found it a bit odd. Still, if you like feline shifters it's okay.

That was hilariously bad, with no idiom left undemolished. Let me just tell you that TUMESCENCE wasn't the worst or the weirdest expression used in this book...
