Her. Him. Alone. Beach house. Every Wednesday. Clothing optional.

Twenty-one-year-old Aria Prince has just moved back to her hometown to start over after a painful divorce. She’s always prided herself on being an early bloomer, but had no idea she’d be married, divorced, and the mother of a toddler by twenty-one. Surely menopause was just a few months away, especially considering the hot flashes and night sweats. Or was that just exhaustion?

Unlike her friends who were at school, going to parties, and sowing their oats—wild and otherwise—Aria’s days were measured in the number of orders she took at her family’s restaurant, the chapters she read in her nursing text, the amount of Cheerios she cleaned up off the floor, and the wet kisses she received from her son.

And that was just fine with her.

But when she began running into her former best-friend Tristan Green—who was home taking care of his sick father—at every turn, she remembered what it felt like to be just Aria. Not a single mother, or sleep-deprived nursing student, or royal screw up. And though she didn’t even have time to shave her legs, let alone consider a sex life, Tristan makes an offer she’d be a fool to refuse.

Each day they’d give themselves to those who needed them. Every day – except Wednesday. Wednesday they’d take what they needed from each other.

Did she forget to mention Tristan was gorgeous?

Or that they hated each other?

Well, you know what they say about the line between love and hate … it’s a skinny-ass bitch. The question was, could they keep their feelings out of it?

Two-Hour Truce is a stand-alone, VERY sensual(and,at times, downright dirty)New Adult Romance.

It's been called: real, raw, and all-consuming.

I hope you enjoy it!!

I love second chance romances, so I was really excited to read Tristan and Aria's story.

Unfortunately, while I liked Aria and her family, I had a hard time connecting to Tristan. And while I typically like jerk heroes, he was so cold that I never really felt like he was into Aria. That his interest was all about ego and how she ended up with someone else instead of him. That someone else had been there before him. And I'm sorry, but if someone called me an "uptight bitch" I sure as h*ll wouldn't be all hot and bothered and jumping into bed with them. I get a relationship based in animosity turning into more (heck, I love those!) but this didn't have that feel. I kept thinking that after her husband, Aria deserved better than Tristan. I also felt like Aria just didn't know how to say no. She didn't have a backbone. Every time she took a stand she fell in the very next scene. She had no staying power.

I really did like Aria. Even though she had no backbone when it came to Tristan, she was strong for her son. He was the most important thing in her life and she was willing to do anything to make his life better.

I wish there had been more resolution with regards to Aria's ex Alex. He was a major douche and deserved to be dragged through the dirt for how he treated her. I wanted to see her win major in the divorce.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

When I read the blurb of this Novel it had held so much promise but towards the middle I am like UMMMMMMMMMM *ROLLING EYES*

Anyways the two MC:

 photo Wednesday_zpsd177f2f0.jpg

Aria gets pregnant by her BF after Prom night and leaves Tristan to get married to the Jack ass BF *rolling eyes*

And after four years of marriage he is never there for her she files for a divorce and comes over to the childhood town.

Tristan who is still in grudge of Aria leaving him and going for the said Jack ass he is not able to forgive her (Ofc he does not know the truth that she had been pregnant with the Jack asses baby)

He comes to town to help his ailing father and meets Aria with CADE (her son who by the way is so sweet)

Tristan and Aria the form a pact that they will spend every wednesday evening together (Now here I thought there would be some steam BUT HEY!!!! NO NUTHN)

Tristan builds up so much steam in his mind but no execution. (*rolling eyes again*)

So now what happens??? Well ya they meet, they fuck, they realize they have feelings for eachother and then what??? Yea the Jackass ex comes back to town to use his son to show the media he is such a good father (Oh did I tell you he is a football player)

By now I am like:

 photo funny-gifs-wtf-is-this_zpsv7dwgaex.gif

The ending is so abrupt that I am like hey what happened to his father? Her divorce? Her Jackass ex? and so when it got its ending I am like:

 photo wtf-reaction_zpsb0a8iiv6.gif

Anyways I don't know what else to say, so

For me 2* NJOY!!! (I SUPPOSE) ;)

I am a huge fan of Clare James. I loved the synopsis of this book. However, this book fell short for me.

I was pulled into the book from the very beginning but at some point, I am not even sure exactly where, things started to become rushed and the characters fell flat. I had a hard time connecting to any of them and just felt there was so much more that could have been added to the story.

For me personally, I felt that everything was too rushed Aria’s ability to just go back and forth with her feelings on Tristan but none of that was explored or developed. Aria and Alex’s relationship and things afterwards just seem to be glossed over and not worked out. There was some sibling rivalry with Aria and her sister Serena, but nothing ever came of that. I just felt like there so much more potential for a better plot and was let down by how quickly everything ended.

I could easily visualize everything playing out and was really hoping as I was reading that we’d get more and more. Things were starting to get interesting and we were given some added tension around the 75% mark. But next thing I knew the books ends and none of that angst and drama played out. WTH?!?!

Even for a novella, this book just comes across as underdeveloped. It has the potential for so much more. But that won’t stop from me reading more from Clare!

3 “Wednesdays” Kisses

Hmm…well I just devoured Wednesday…like read it in one sitting, couldn’t put it down kind of devoured. I mean, I was already hooked from the blurb alone…but being that sucked in hasn’t happened since Stepbrother Dearest. It was like I was hypnotized or something.

Aria Prince…a 21 year old with the responsibilities of a 40 year old…Aria has been forced to grow up too quickly. But the reason I liked Aria…rather than running from those responsibilities…she faces them head on with a fantastic attitude and is actually a pretty freaking awesome mom. And that’s what she is, first and foremost…a mother. She’s also taking this life changing opportunity to better herself…I swear this girl is way too mature, but it just made her more awesome and likeable for me. She also was not a pushover…Aria does what she wants to do when she wants to do it and she’s amazing at standing up for herself and her child. She’s insanely strong…just one more thing I loved about her.

‘Tristan Green is an arrogant asshole.
So he may be in the variety of I-want-to-rip-off-your-clothes-and-lick-you-like-an-ice-cream-cone-asshole. But an asshole nonetheless.’

Tristan Green…Tris…oh Jesus just his name alone does me in. Tristan is…different. He’s wild and untamed but he’s also a geek and smart…it’s a very interesting combination. He is really smart but drops out of college…starts and sells companies but still doesn’t have as much money as he should…it’s quite an interesting dichotomy but it’s what brings him back home to take care of his dad, so I can’t be mad at that. I really liked Tristan’s domineering side…it’s something we really only see sexually with Aria…and unfortunately, only a few times – I feel like there could have been more developed with that…because as hot as he was those few times, I’m pretty sure he could have melted my panties off. But the one thing I loved the most about Tristan was how much he loved Aria. God he fought it like no other but that boy only had eyes for her…and it was awesome.

‘“I just can’t believe you hang out with people like that now, Tris. What happened to you?”
“Me?” I ask, feeling my own face burn. “Look at what’s happened to you. Never would you have taken the shit those girls were dishing out. Not the Aria I knew.”
“That Aria is dead,” she says, each word forced out. She looks small as she says them.
It has me staggering back, a shot to the guy.
She seems so defeated, so beaten down as she stands in front of me with her slumped shoulders and dark circles under her eyes. Yet she’s still the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on. I can’t fucking stand it. For the first time since high school, I can’t push these thoughts out of my head. I can’t compartmentalize Aria.’

I loved Tristan and Aria’s attraction…their connection on a sexual level was freakin’ hotness. Electric…insatiable…they just brought that out in each other and after years of pent up desire, having it all happen made it that much more real and delicious. That’s what made Tris and Aria for me…their history…the unrequited-ness of it…it was meant to be but never happened and while that killed me, in a way it made things better. They both grew up in different ways…and yet fate brought them back together. Good gravy these two were hot together…and I guess it was because I always felt that underlying denied emotion behind everything they did. They wanted to hate each other…but they never could…and in every interaction they had it spoke volumes.

‘It’s the strangest sensation. I’ve despised this guy for so long – for everything he’s said and thought about me. For hurting me. Yet being with him like this, giving and taking pleasure, it’s such a potent drug. The power I feel in the moment is extraordinary, yet difficult to fully understand.’

The only thing I loved almost as much as Tristan and Aria together…are Tristan and Cade. Caden is Aria’s son and while it was a little rough at first, Tristan’s bond that he formed with Cade warmed my heart. There was a tiny plot hole with the fact that Cade and Tris spent so much time together…and Cade talked to his mom every night about his day…but never mentioned Tristan, but somehow I was able to look past it because of the transformation that Cade had on Tristan. Cade is just amazing period…I loved every scene with him.

‘There is no doubt in my mind that an affair with Aria would be incredible. We are drawn together in a purely primal way. It’s a sensation where you know it probably isn’t a good idea, yet it is the best fucking thing you’d ever heard of. Like those chips you can’t have only one of, that artisan cheese that makes your mouth water, the perfect full-bodied cabernet, the chocolate layer cake. Endorphin rushes and pure bliss. Best consumed in small doses. That’s what we are together, and what we need to remember. That’s why this situation is perfect.’

My biggest complaint…I needed more. The beginning, with developing the characters was great…it started off a little slow but it was necessary because after Tris and Aria are together things took off at warp speed and never really slowed down. It seemed like everything happened so fast and I wanted to get a better handle on…well…everything. The emotions, the timeline…all of it was coming at me so quickly and I was fine with the pacing but there needed to be more detail, more development, and the stuff that I was missing, stuck out to me that much more. It was just rush-rush-rush and I wanted to savor it…because there was so much about it that I was enjoying.

“But right now, let’s just get this first fuck out of the way. Good, old fashioned, vanilla sex.”
Aria’s mouth drops open.
“You’re so romantic,” she says.
“This isn’t about romance, sweetheart.”
“You know, I really dislike you,” she says with a smile.
Yeah, this just might work.
“Likewise,” I say. “Now let me see those beautiful tits of yours.”

Alright, so let me explain…the part about the timeline that bothered me…there were a few times that it was really hard to get a grip on how many weeks passed and I just had to use my best judgment, which luckily enough was pretty accurate but then I wondered what the purpose of skimming over those details was. Now…the emotions - there were so many missed opportunities to really dive in and develop more of the building connection between Tris and Aria…it made me sad because as much as I felt for them, it could have been off the charts if we had seen it develop more with that dialogue. It was all there, it just could have been richer…deeper…just more.

‘“This is bad,” I say as we spread out on Tristan’s bed complexly spent.
“Bad, are you crazy? Tris asks.
“It’s so bad. I don’t think I could say no to you if I tried. It can’t be a good thing to give up control all the time, no matter how much I love it.”
“You love it?” he asks with so much emotion, it make me melt a little.’

Another thing was the angst…there were some seriously missed chances at drawing out the angst with Tris and Aria…and there were some slightly angsty moments…but I’m an angst whore – I want to be tortured…and this was minimal. Drawing out the tension with the two of them before they got together…and then other situations that come up later in the book (I don’t want to spoil) but…there could have been some great angsty torture there. I guess that’s why I’m frustrated because as much as I like the story line and loved the characters, with a few tweaks, this could have been an amazing read for me…and shoot, I couldn’t put it down, so just because it wasn’t perfect doesn’t mean I didn’t like it!

‘The trouble is, I didn’t know that kind of love existed. But it does and I can’t unsee it. I know.
It was so much better when I didn’t.’

The ending was…good…it happened fast and all the questions were answered but it was...rushed. Wednesday was a great standalone though…there is no other characters introduce to do a spin off with…it ends with a great HEA in the signature style of Tris and Aria and I did enjoy that. I would have loved an epilogue or something of Tristan and Aria in the future…but I ended it with a big smile on my face and happy for the couple that I love, so I can’t be mad at that. :-)

Could you have a no-strings-attached relationship with someone that you have really loved before? Do you believe love can become hate? Would you willingly gamble your heart again?

Aria and Tristan were in love with each other on their senior year of high school, but fate decided to change their destiny and they started hating each other. Now they are both back in town and their chemistry is still off-the-charts. They decide on a no-strings-attached relationship, but as in the past, fate is always messing up their plans.

"One day a week. Four days each month. Fifty-two goddamn times each year. On the other three-hundred-fourteen days, we could go back to business as usual."

A relationship based on sexual chemistry, no worries, no troubles, only releasing tension. The only problem is that life is usually messier than this.

Aria is starting a new life, she has just ended a chapter of her story, and it's looking for new beginnings. Even though she is young her life is not all hearts and flowers.

"So at the ripe old age of twenty-one - when most girls are in school, going to parties, and sowing their oats - I'm going home to rebuild my life after my failed marriage, while caring for a toddler on my own."

She is a good character. She takes the bumps that life has thrown her way and learns from them, evolves. Her relationship with her mom is touching and her love for her son is beautiful.

Tristan is a great character. He has not evolved so much as Aria. He still holds a grudge from the past, and he is immature about it. He is a twenty one years old boy that likes women and pleasure. He is kinky and hot! His humor is perfect, I laughed a lot with him. He is no hero, but his humanity it's what makes him super.

"Yep, in the spam of ten minutes, I've gone from Magic Mike to Jonah Hill."
"I want you spread across my bed, or up against the wall, or bent over my kitchen table. I'm not picky about where, and we already know when."

This is my first book by Ms. James, but definitely it's not my last. I've really enjoyed her writing style. I love dual-first-person-pov, and for Wednesday it was the perfect way to set the pace of the story. Her passionate scenes are panty-wetter hot, and the intensity and humor of the book was very well balanced throughout the story.

I have really enjoyed the end of this book. It's so realistic, and it breaks the mold of HEAs.

I would recommend this book for those erotic romance readers that want to venture into the new adult with spicy. It's new, it's different, it's unique!

"We've finally moved beyond a critical state to stable condition."

3.5

Wednesday is a quick and steamy second chance love story. It's really more of a second attempt at a first chance, because Aria and Tristan didn't really get much of a first chance. They were friends all throughout high school and each one had a crush on the other (without the other knowing) and just when it looked like they were about to get together, Aria has a secret pregnancy with the star football player and she gets married and runs out of town without so much as an explanation to Tristan. Flash forward four years, and Aria is back in town freshly divorced and her and Tristan's story begins.

I enjoyed Wednesday. I don't think it is part of a series, and it was a very quick read. I found myself liking the fast paced, but at times I wanted the story to be a bit more fleshed out and longer so that I could keep reading it. I liked the back stories on what brought both Aria and Tristan back into town, and I loved their wednesday connections. At times they were a bit frustrating characters though. I understood why Tristan had a dislike for Aria, but I didn't quite get why Aria was so mad at him. She had to know that he would be surprised and angry over her sudden wedding. From his perspective she went out on on date with the guy and now she was marrying him. I don't know why she would be mad at his reaction, she was the one hurting him.

Watching the two of them take one step forward and then two steps back kept the book interesting but at the same time, towards the end I just wanted them to get over themselves already and get it together. They both needed a good shaking. However, it was undeniable that they had a crazy connection. Watching them together was my favorite part of the book. Surprisingly, I also enjoyed watching Tristan with the "little guy". It was pretty cute how they bonded.

Right around the 70% mark when Aria and Tristan were slowly moving on past the no feelings wednesday time stage to the I want more with you stage, was when I wanted the book to slow down and get a little more detailed. But this was a fast paced story all the way through. It was perfect for a quick afternoon feel good read, but might feel a little short and rushed if you are looking for a longer story that you can savor more. Wednesday will leave you wanting some "wild Wednesday" time of your own.

4 stars! Review copy provided by author. I will never think of Wednesday's the same again. WHEW!!

***slight spoilers***

Aria (h) is a recent divorcee and single mom at 21. When everything falls apart she takes her and her son Cade back to her home town in Florida deciding to stay with her mother. She knows people talk in her small town and she will be the new gossip for a while especially because her ex husband was the star football player and knocked her up their senior year. Now he's about to be signed and she is back.

Tristan (H) was the town nerd not interested in sports, very into computers, and Aria's best friend...until Alex, then everything changed. Three years later he is back in Florida from LA to take care of his sick father. His once lanky body filled out and he became more confident and successful. He's gorgeous.

What Aria and Tristan don't anticipate is to run into each other again. Once best friends are now bitter enemies, but feelings resurface and neither of them know what to do about it. They hate each other but want each other. Tristan comes up with a plan...every Wednesday they will spend together and fulfill each others needs. ;)

Once they go about there Wednesdays, feelings start to come into play and just when they think something more might be there Alex returns.

I really liked this book but I wanted more! What happened to Alex? I'm not going to write all the things I wish we could of got more of for fear of spoiling anything. It wasn't too angsty, pretty damn hot and actually kind of sweet. There were definitely times I wanted to kick Tristan and tell him to wake up and just communicate. I liked the characters and fell in love with Cade. In the acknowledgements Clare James wrote that this was for all the single mothers and I completely agree, it's too bad not everyone could find a stand up guy like Tristan.

I recommend

It was a proposition that Tristan Green suggests to the girl that broke his heart in high school. One night a week,Wednesday, to be exact. To get all his aggressions out of his system for the Aria Prince that choose the captain of the football team over the geek. Both Tristan and Aria are in town handing new responsibilities, so why not indulge in one another, one day a week can’t be that bad right?!

One night, senior year, can change your world. Aria Prince and Alex Anders find out first hand. An unforeseen pregnancy has both Aria and Alex wed and moving to Iowa. But it’s not all beautiful and fairytales. Alex’s behavior turns into a resentment of having a family. Distancing himself from Cade and Aria happens very often. Leaving Aria to go back home to Florida and pursue nursing school to better her life for Cade. That’s when she runs into Tristan at a local grocery store. The chemistry between the two is there without a doubt. But as this novella continues, both have to work on their pasts and learn to communicate. A good job with the writing style and building of storyline. In this beautiful novella there is an HEA, witty banter, and blushing sexy time. 4 smooches for Wednesday by Clare James.

I was really surprised by this book it's a stand alone story of two people who were in love with each other in high school but never got together until after prom.
as Tristan didn't ask aria to prom as he was shy aria went with Alex ( the ass).
from spending the night with Alex aria gets pregnant and they have a shot gun wedding, at which Tristan tries to stop and when aria tell him she's marrying Alex Tristan doesn't give her a chance to explain and hurtful words are used.
this leads to hearts breaking and the two hating each other.
when aria leaves Alex and returns home where she finds Tristan who is back home to nurse his sick dad, the pair realise that sparks still fly between them.
With the pair only having Wednesdays free they decide to use it as a chance to have no strings attached sex. but can't it be just sex between two people who used to love each other??
I read this in one sitting it's a light hearted, sexy as hell story :)
only reason I've given if three stars is that I wasn't too happy with the ending I wanted to find out what happens with Alex and her taking him to courts for the divorce and full custody?? what happens with Tristan and his life in California?
does he decide to stay with aria and caden??

others brilliant story :)

Aria has come home with her young child after her husband breaks the news that he wants a divorce. Tristan has come home to take care of his sick father. Both used to be really important to each other until they broke each other one night. Now years later they are in the same place at the same time and have to deal with the fact that there is a fine line between love and hate. So it begins when they set a Wednesday date to scratch an itch and quickly develops into more. Both have to make a choice to put aside the hurts from the past to move on to a future together.

I so felt for Aria as she deals with the changing picture of her life. Finding out that her marriage was over now matter how it began was quite the challenge especially raising a child through it. I love that the author communicates these feelings Aria is working through so well. I adored that Tris spent time with her son and they grew so close. He wanted to make sure she knew he was ready for the whole package. Quite the man. Who by the way has an incredible talent with the naughty words. I wanted more of their story when I was finished.

I give Wednesday 4 hearts!

HOT!!!!
What a great hot and steamy read.

***SPOILERS***

I really liked Ari. I was able to really relate to her. Being raised by a single mom who gave up everything for me. As well as being a mom though luckily not single. I felt what she was going through. I myself was a teen mom and I know how strong the love for your child is. I really respected her for that and for how strong she had been through everything.

Tristan, Tristan, Tristan what can I say. At first I really didn't like him to much. Not able to understand how he could hate her so much. Until I learned the whole story and how he just didn't know everything. He thought she just left him and he was heartbroken. Then he started to how his real colors. He was really just a sweetie in disguise. Oh and when he was with Cade it made my heart melt.

I thought Amelia was great a wonderful mother and grandmother and Cade seemed like such a little sweetie.

Though I didn't see any reference to it, I am guessing there is a second book. I hope so because I really want to read some more about Ari and Trist.

Thanks for allowing me to read your book. I really enjoyed it.

I would just like to reiterate as I have many times, that second chance at love books are my absolute favorite. This one did not disappoint. I found the characters to be believable and I felt a real connection to them. The heroine was a strong, independent young woman and I really looked up to her as a character, being able to relate being a young mother myself. There wasn't any unnecessary angst or drama, and the sexy times were just that, sexy. There were many strong points in this story that kept me turning the pages, holding my breath that this duo would find their happily ever after. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters, especially Cade as well as Aria's mother. They were sweet and fun to read. I really enjoy little kids in stories, they provide just that extra cute factor into the journey the characters take. All in all, this was a sweet, easy read with a hot alpha and a strong heroine and I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance story!

Favorite Quotes:

“She slid in under the radar, like an annoying little mosquito you don’t notice until it’s draining your blood.”
“’You look good babe,’ he says in what he thinks is his low sexy voice. Really it just sounds like he’s constipated.”

My Review:

I had not read Clare James’ work before, and find I am totally enamored with her now. Her writing is exceptional, it is what I have been searching for. It is clever, observant, naughty, entertaining, engrossing, insightful, and close to the bone. Her characters are flawed, yet honest in their selfishness and petty quirks. And oh so deliciously steamy, yet in the possibility of being realistic. And who doesn't love a second chance romance? Yay – a perfect way to spend a Wednesday.

What happens when the girl who got away...the girl who broke your heart returns to town, and every feeling that you ever felt for her comes flooding back?

What happens when you come face to face with the guy who always held your heart but you had to break his in order to give your baby a chance at being a family, and the way he treated you leaves you feeling nothing but hate despite the desire to get close to him again?

These are the exact questions that Tristan Green and Aria Prince ask themselves when they see each other again after three years of no communication, and while the hatred and disdain between them consumes the air around them, so does the sexual tension, threatening to overwhelm them if it's not acted upon, and that need for each other is what makes Tristan offer Aria a once a week no strings attached sexual relationship - one where no emotional feelings factor in - it's just two people finding the release they need, due to their stressful lives, in the arms of each other.

But here's the thing about two people who once had strong feelings for each other embarking on a purely sexual relationship - it NEVER works because the emotional investment is there from the start. So as one Wednesday leads into the next and both Tristan and Aria find themselves yearning for the other on every other day of the week, both are going to have to decide if risking their hearts again is worth the price they'll pay if it all goes wrong.

Clare James really knows how to bring the smut, and Tristan and Aria's story is no exception. From the I hate you fucks to the I want to own your body playtime, the sex scenes between them burn up the pages of Wednesday. Because once a week is the only time they're supposed to be together, Tristan and Aria's relationship centers around the one night a week where they get to explore each other's bodies and give into the desires that have always consumed them. But as their feelings for each other slowly morph into something deeper, James uses their Wednesday night romps to illustrate that change and then continues to show it through Tristan's attempts at gaining more time with not only Aria but her son, Cade as well.

I really enjoyed Wednesday. It's a quick and steamy read that offers firsthand accounts from the hero and heroine of how their time together both helps them and tortures them, thinking that that's all they'll ever have together. I did feel like the ending was a bit rushed and there's still an unfinished feeling to the story because of the situations that were left open-ended, but it does make sense to not give Tristan and Aria a happily ever after because not much time has passed and there are still big obstacles to overcome. I guess I just wanted to see how they handled those situations and if they stayed and fought or ran away. Despite my need for a bit more closure, overall, Wednesday is a great read; it's a sexy storyline to get lost in for a few hours, and Clare James' sex scenes definitely deliver.

** DEBBIE'S 4 STAR REVIEW

“One day a week. Four days a month. Fifty-two god*** times each year.”

The first chapter of this book drew me in. I loved how the author switched back and forth between Aria and Tristan’s POV.The plot is intriguing and sucks you in and you will not want to put this one down. I found the story believable and could relate to both Aria and Tristan. Let me say there was a few times I wanted to smack Tristan upside the head for the things that came out of his mouth but then I had to remember that he was crushed by Aria when they were younger and held onto that anger and heartache.

The sexual chemistry between these two is panty dropping hot!!! The secondary characters added a nice layer to the story and had me laughing a few times.

“I’d rather not hear anything from that smart mouth of yours while we’re in the throes. I have a feeling it could be a real mood killer.”

“I don’t know who gave you the idea that men don’t like doing this,” he continues. “But let me tell you, real men eat p**** and they f****** love it.”

The book flowed well and I was glued to my kindle until I finished it. Some may find Tristan to be an asshole but I have a soft spot for the rough around the edge type and although he didn’t think before he opened his mouth most of the time, I found him to have a super sweet side just dying to come out. You can’t help but not love Aria. Finding out she was pregnant at a young age she wanted to do the right thing and she married the baby daddy only to be tossed aside once he was drafted. Alex, father of Aria’s son was a selfish ass. There was not one thing I liked about him. Aria went back home to get her life back together after Alex decided to divorce her and she never expected to run into Tristan again. Tristan propositions Aria with a once a week sex date, otherwise known as “Wild Wednesday”. The only problem is will they be able to just be together on day a week or will there past feelings make it difficult?

“Alex needed his rest and his workouts. He had to study and do important things- like most of the cheer team, apparently.”

“Tristan Green is a selfish, childish irritation of a man who actually wished me ill on my wedding day. Who called my on a mess and said I deserved all the bad that would inevitably come my way.”

The story takes you on a ride full of humor and heartache that had me hoping that the two of them would realize they belonged together and let the past stay in the past and move on together.

If you are looking for a second chance romance that is hot and steamy and has a story you can relate to than you might want to give this one a try.

I have been a big fan of Clare James for a while and once I heard about Wednesday, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! And let me tell you, this is my favorite book by Clare James so far!

Wednesday follows the story of Aria and Tristan. Aria's life is nothing like she thought it would be. After years of trying to make her marriage work, she finally has enough. She's going through a painful divorce and is just trying to get her life back on track. So, she ends up moving back home. The last thing she expected was to run into Tristan. Tristan and Aria used to be best friends. That is, until Aria's wedding day. Tristan tried to convince Aria to not go through with it. But, she had her reasons for having to go through with it... Aria is just a painful subject that Tristan wants to forget about....or does he?? Tristan and Aria may seem like they hate one another, but they share an undeniable chemistry that seems to only have intensified over the years. So, Tristan comes up with what he thinks is a brilliant idea: Be his for one day a week, on Wednesday. But can they really just have meaningless sex or will the feelings that have always been there, finally come to head??

Wednesday was a really fun, sexy read that is told from dual points of view. I was sucked in from that first page and couldn't wait to read more. I found the characters very enjoyable and easy to relate to. I really admired Aria's strength. It's not easy to come back to your childhood home and to have to start over again, especially as a single mom. I appreciated how hard she worked not only to make her sons life better, but to better her own life. Tristan....what can I say about him. He was such a jerk in the beginning of the book. There times where I just wanted to reach through my kindle and slap him. But, I honestly couldn't wait to get to know more about him and why he acted the way he did towards Aria. He definitely won me over in the end :) As I previously stated, Aria and Tristan shared some insanely HOT chemistry....Be warned: It is HOT!!!

Wednesday gave me everything I was looking for and more. It is a quick, but fantastic read full of angst and hot romance! I really enjoyed this story and didn't want it to end!

I really liked this book. It snagged my attention within the first few chapters and whenever I put it down, I couldn't help but think what was going to happen next with Aria and Tristan. Their proposed "arrangement" made me curious to see what was going to happen. If it would happen. And what sides of both characters would we be introduced to.

The characters were well developed and meshed together really well. I would've liked a little more back story on the sister and why she hadn't talked to Aria in those 4 years and what changed when she came home. Aria wasn't the only one puzzled by her behavior. Maybe a heart to heart between the two for part of a chapter could have been included. But not necessary. The story worked great without it. Just trying to feed my curiosity.

The beginning threw me for a bit. I was lost at first for a hot minute trying to figure what happened between what I believe is the "Prologue" and "Chapter 1". The chapters aren't labeled, which is ok. But when you throw in a prologue like that, it confused me for a bit. It wasn't until the "Chapter 2" that I figured out that the part that confused me was the "Prologue". The book's format in the beginning was a bit different but I quickly got it.

Also, I want more. LOL! I want another Aria and Tristan book. Especially since Alex is back in the picture for whatever reason. There could be a great duet there.

A mixture of second chance with love-hate between old best friends, this is my kind of book. Aria and Tristan have a history that neither of them have recovered from because of the residual bitter feelings but when their paths cross again, the chemistry reignites. They are both 21 years old even though Aria is a single mother and Tristan is a savvy minded tech businessman and professor so they seem older but they are really still quite young. Lots of great elements in the book -the sexual tension, the antagonizing of each other, the resurfacing of old feelings and the reality of the present. I liked this story because it was hot and the characters were likeable but it did lack some in the crucial parts where the characters were finally building up towards their true feelings, some of that didn't elaborate itself well enough. The conflict was always there internally between them but when it came time to hash it out in the open, that fell a little short in the delivery. Otherwise, I admired Aria's realistic view of herself and Tristan's development towards being more open minded compared to before. Although they were moving forward, I wasn't completely sure if they fully accepted the past and forgave each other. The ending left me wondering if there would be another book to follow or not.

This is the first time I've had the pleasure of reading one of Clare James' books...and I'll definitely be reading more by her. Wednesday was a a nice, quick read that flowed smoothly and had a great cast of characters. I'd have to say Tristan was my clear favorite, and I loved the scenes with him and Aria's son. As far as Alex goes...even though we don't see too much of him, what we see makes me want to stick him at the bottom of the barrel for being such an ass.

While Aria and Tristan supposedly can't stand each other, it is plain to see that deep down they truly don't. I just wanted them to toss aside their attitudes and just admit to themselves and everyone else what I as a reader could easily see. I really liked getting both Aria and Tristan's POVs, dual POV books always give you so much more of the story.

My only wish for this story was to have more of a resolution of the situation with Alex. Since things still felt a bit incomplete at the end, I'm hoping another book will be coming to tell more of Aria and Tristan's story and finish off things with Alex.

A good, solid romance read and a 4-star rating from me for Wednesday.

Aria's life isn't going the way she hoped and neither is Tristan's. Both ended up back home for different reasons. They hate each other or so they think for something that happened in the past, but they also share undeniable chemistry. Tristan comes up with an idea to suit both their needs, but mainly his....meet for one day a week on Wednesday to have meaningless sex.

Tristan is immature with a little dominant side and Aria is strong with a slightly submissive side. It's a little tame in comparison to other books I've read. He is not the usual growling uber alpha male I love to read about but he holds his own. I guess he is more realistic. They are a great couple and the sex scenes are pretty hot. Love the library scene! Enjoyable book and nicely written.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a second chance with the one that got away? I know at times I am full of what ifs and I think that’s why I enjoyed this book.

I must say that I was able to read this story in one day, each time I put it down, I could not wait to pick it back up and read more about Tristan and Aria. I loved how their relationship didn’t start so easily in the beginning and they had their words. Their back a forth banter had me laughing numerous times. I thought it was great that their relationship wasn’t easy; they had to work at it to finger out what they really wanted.

This was the first novel by Clare James that I have read and I cannot wait to read another one!!

This was such a sweet book & it reads really quick. Aria gets pregnant her senior year of high school by the star football player, Alex after a one night stand. On Aria's wedding day her best friend Tristan confesses his love for her & tells her not to marry Alex & move to Iowa. Tristan doesn't know she pregnant & is pissed off & heartbroken when she goes through with it. Aria is now 21, a mom & on the verge of a divorce & moves back home with her mom. Tristan is back home with his dad taking care of him after he's had a stroke. Tristan sees Aria & even though he dislikes her he wants to sleep with her so he proposes that they have sex every Wednesday.

I enjoyed the Second Chance at love concept in this book.

I could somewhat relate to the "starting over" stage of life that Ari was currently in.

As much as I enjoyed this book the story seemed unfinished when it was over. Considering this book was a stand alone I still had many unanswered questions at the end in regards to Ari's marriage.

Overall I did enjoy this book... The love/hate once a week "let's go at" arrangement intrigued me ;)

Well I really liked this book. The characters were great and both had a past with each other and after each other after meeting back up things get off to a great start but when the past comes back it wasn't looking so good. just when I couldn't wait to see what was happening the book ended and left.me with questions I wanted answered so this is why I didn't give 5 stars xx
