Keeping secrets wasn’t just what we did—it was who we were. Buried truths that split us apart, sins that left scars, and lies that sent souls straight to the grave.
Another season of fake smiles and broken promises. Love wasn’t pure. It never was. It was contaminated—twisted and tainted by hands that never learned how to hold without crushing.
Love was a myth—a ghost story told to keep children warm - a fairytale for the weak. Hope? Maybe. But in this family, hope was a gamble we’d already lost too many times.
Misery didn’t creep in—she kicked down the damn door, ready to lay waste to everything we thought was still standing. She claimed us—marked our souls with darkness and left fingerprints on every shattered dream. She was the air we breathed, the shadow in every corner. Our foundation was cracked, the walls already crumbling, and we were out here fighting ghosts with bare hands.
Infatuation twisted hearts, disguising revenge as romance. What looked like love was nothing but a setup, a trap wrapped in silk sheets and whispered lies. It turned killers into lovers, lovers into liars, and liars into monsters. What felt good was never safe. What looked innocent was never pure.
No mercy. No salvation. No redemption wrapped in pretty paper under the tree. Christmas was nothing but a countdown—to blood spilled, tears shed, and debts paid in full. Before the snow soaked up our sins, before the past came back with a loaded gun, we’d make sure this holiday wasn’t one we’d live to regret.

Yassssssss…. Just what I needed to set the tone for hangs are going own in your upcoming releases! I missed this family. Our mini Amell, in Ari is absolutely profound. She’s so heavy! I love it. Need Cass to have a HEA. I see he still with the shenanigans. It was so great to have the characters from the last few books all in the same space. This prelude was the perfect set up for Chelsea to show out! 💚💛💜
I have missed The Kalmin Family. The children are now older, and it seems the darkness from the past is about to make a new appearance. Aside from what may be lurking, you can always get a few laughs in along the way. I'm so anxious and scared to find out what's coming next. One thing for sure, Cassian has to find love interest.
I absolutely love this family. Even through some of the darkness, there was still plenty of laughs. I don’t know how I feel about Sunnie. Ezekiel might need to let her go. I hope Cassian gets his happily ever after. I can’t wait for what’s next for them all.
This was a great prelude into what is going to come with the Kalmins and their friends. This title was perfect as well because this was definitely a holiday to remember for this family. I found myself laughing at my fave Cassian and his antics and also found myself in shock and disbelief over some of that are being eluded to happening in the future for this crew.
In addition to the Kalmins, we also got a little of an update on Ezekiel and Sunnie and I’m hoping that Sunnie will start taking accountability and get some help and change her ways. We also got a little more from the Luciano family and let’s just say things are messier than ever with them following the divorce of Pacino and Capone and their children.
This crew is definitely about to enter a storm and I’m ready to read all about it and hoping that everybody makes it out unscathed and defeats their enemies and gets their houses in order.
All you need to know about this really good book is:
1. A fav somewhat lovable, unserious, and unhinged person will have you laughing and shaking your head…and my fav MC has my heart heavy. 2. This is setting up the next generation…all of these juniors in one book! 3. There are interesting updates for our couples…Some of you may happily sing DIVORCE like T. Diggs did in Brown Sugar. 4. This is a Chelsea Maria Kalmin centric book. There are intros to new characters and there are unexpected characters in it, but it’ll make sense when you think about it. To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Expectations for future has been set. Get ready, get ready, get ready.
I love this preclude of what to expect for the next book, but I'm not ready. I'm surprised that my girl Keatyn most of all, but I'm hoping she gets herself together quick because I need her to focus on her kids. Massey & PJ's relationship will determine if it's meant to be. But I need Ari to take a chill pill because baby is overly sensitive, emotional, but a complete menace. Cashton - I see you! Claim your boo! Melly & Tai - Keep the crazy shenanigans going. London - you got this. Sunny - Girl, I'm surprised at you! I'm preparing myself for the emotional ride.
Nail biting...knee slapping...heart racing. Drama, suspense, and comedy. Even spiritual This author's return is everything I expected and needed. This prelude, prologue...whew!!! Put your seat belts on because this ride is guaranteed to be bumpy but worth the journey. I love the Kalmins so much. I really want Cassian to get his HEA. We will see in the books to come. Welcome back! Count me in!!
This is my favorite family. The darkness that it has battled over the years never gets old. They face spiritual and worldly warfare thats makes me pray when i read about them. CHELSEA YOU ARE AMAZING. THANK YOU FOR THIS. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. CASSIAN IS A FOOL🤣
I enjoyed the Kalmains so much. I missed them. I think Ezekiel needs to get rid of Sunny. I can’t wait to see what Atlas will do with Kyeate. The kids are all dating and acting a fool. I enjoyed this story. I can’t wait until next time.
Oh my goodness so much I don't know where to start.... So much drama is about to happen but I was laughing when Cassian hit his daughter in the forehead with the Mic 😄😄😄 he is so crazy but I'm going to hold on to my drawers and wait for it all
I began reading this series sometime ago and read the entire series. I love how you incorporate GOD in your writing. I am eagerly waiting on Cassasin Kalmin story line. I pray GOD continue to use your brain for great writing and blessed you.
