The Optimistic Autistic: Our Testimony

Rate this book
The Optimistic Autistic is a testimony of how love, dedication and faith guided our family in the midst of adversity. Nearly 1 in 68 children are diagnosed with Autism. The moment we received our son's diagnosis our lives changed. As parents of a special needs student the odds were stacked against us. There were times when we felt like giving up, but God kept us standing. When our 6-year-old son was expelled from school for 9 months, we decided to take charge of our son’s education. Through Jordan’s struggles and our faith, we found our strength. Read about our story and learn how you can fight for your child’s education. Join us on our journey of faith as we share our testimony.

Sage

Once described as a "stark raving prophet crying out in a wilderness of cheap beer and cheaper sex," Sage, poet, social satirist, recording artist and actor, has performed his sterling melange of pop culture prophecy and street honed 'freakbeat' verse from Manhattan's Lower East Side, to sunny Bognor Regis, England.
In addition to recently opening for Sir Bob Geldoff at Portsmouth Guildhall, Sage has also: been featured in a BBC One television documentary, twice gotten verbally naked for BBC Radio, once for Channel Four, at both The Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe festivals (with his Grandma), and at the Sundance Film festival (next to a famous person). He has been featured on TV documentaries with Beat legend Allen Ginsberg, and former San Francisco Poet Laureate Lawrence Ferlinghetti.

As well as block-rockin' the live stage, Sage has played lead roles in several indy feature films. His role as New York Trip Hop DJ 'Dog Walker' in the film Beyond the Ocean (nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2000), recently received critical praise by the New York Times.

Sage has recently completed, and published his first book of illustrated poetry "Sex, Drugs, and Sunday School" with Brighton artist Ruben Watson. He is currently collaborating with beat masters in both New York and Brighton for a soundtrack album to accompany the book. He is available for birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, and christenings.
