Hello! I'm a writer from Nebraska who enjoys fantasy of all kinds. Stories don't always seem quite as much fun without some element of magic.

I started out writing romances because that's what my best friend and I loved to read. (My other best friend and I wrote about our science teacher being an alien and hard boiled detectives.) I have a varied and exciting inner fantasy life, you might say.

My first full length novel was a fun private detective, contemporary, crazy love story. I'm working on rewrites so that I can get it out into the world. The first book I've published is an urban fantasy about a mother who doesn't know how to be a hero, but luckily she's a quick study.

I studied fiction writing at the University of Nebraska at Omaha but didn't truly appreciate the experience. Now that I've written millions of words, I think it might be fun to go back and take some more classes. (It might be fun...or it might be annoying, who knows?)

I love to read and I adore talking to people about writing and reading. And crochet!

Thank you for dropping by and thank you for reading my book. It honors me that you would spend some time in my imaginary world.

As enjoyable, maybe even more so, than the first. Goes deep down into the things that bump in the night and squirm at the edge of consciousness -- but offers plenty of hope, if only from where our souls touch. A wonderful sequel.

If you loved her first book, you'll love this one too! More kick ass adventures from Mom Devany, including a wandering circus and so many enemies, it's hard to keep track of! She has that great sense of humor and well-who else is going to fix this-and plows through.

I'm glad I gave these books another chance, rating this one a 3.5, so better than the first book for sure as that was a 2.5/3 but there were still points where I was rolling my eyes and skipping paragraphs to get to the interesting bits.

As good as the first in the series. 4.5 stars. If you are not reading Devaney Miller and you are serious about your urban fantasy - you need to read this series. One of the best urban fantasies I have read from a new author in about a year. There is a lack of polish here and there but this is a unique series and a powerhouse of magic and action.

Love it. I have read hundreds of UF series and whilst I cant define it there is something about this series which reminds me of Faith Hunters Seraph's series and Cassie Alexander's Edie Spence series which has the same fresh and pacey vibe. Also Jen Ponce's characterisations are easily of similar quality.

Get the recent omnibus edition at around $5 - so cheap for a strong and unique series.

Love this world, these characters, this author! Can't wait for more sequels. Devany needs her own tv show. So many surprises and twists. Yet my favorite character Nex is tried and true. Can't wait to see what happens in book 3!

Adored revisiting Devany Miller and reentering the world of the Slip and the Midia. The Bazaar was awesome, this was even better - and I didn't want to leave - so I didn't, and I've already started book 3.

So good

Of course the second book in the Devany Miller Series lives up to the first. Can't believe I waited so long to read it. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a third to read!!!
