Skimmed this one, too. Some useful info but a lot of tedious monologues walking the reader through various processes. Also, the author's tone often comes across as a patronizing and a little snide.
I have been reading a bunch of books like this, trying to improve my Etsy shop. This The best so far, with real strategies to incorporate. This covers everything from setting up your shop, using social media to promote your shop, keywords and search optimizing, and shipping/packaging. I learned more specific do's and don't s than in anything else I've read. Some of the info is dated, especially the links, but most of the information is right on point.
Great and helpful book. Learned alot. As a Soon to Open Etsy Store "Etsy-Preneur" it was geared towards people like me but would be really helpful to Current sellers. Although I wish the Photography section was a bit more involved, it does contain a ton of info and getting a book geared more towards Photography would be better if you want more help on that topic. Definitely a great book to learn helpful things.
A lot of great tips and quick read. I had attempted to make an Etsy seller page years ago without reading any tips. This book would have come in handy then. If I end up making another shop, I will take these tips and ideas to heart.
There are quite a few typos in the book, so that did cheapen it a little bit for me. However, if you are looking for a quick guide to starting an etsy store, this is still worth picking up.
Really solid review of what it takes to set up a successful storefront on Etsy.
The book mentions many considerations that the average Etsy seller probably wouldn't consider. I wouldn't have thought about, for example, how valuable it is to do extensive research about how other stores are posing themselves to be successful before opening my own.
Mostly review for semi to very experienced Etsy sellers but for an inexpensive book, the author offers practical and general information pertaining to selling on Etsy. Pricing is rather skimmed over so not the best book for advice on pricing products. Good general overview without getting too deep into the details of any one subject.
If you are looking for current info about selling on Etsy, this isn’t the book for you. The information in this book regarding the resources available on Etsy, their fees, etc is incorrect. The info about Facebook is incorrect, as there are no longer ‘fan’ pages with ‘apps’. Book claims to have been updated in 2020, but there’s a lot of errors. Find something more current.
Much of the information I have reading other books or blogs, often with more detail and/or better explanations, but the section on SEO makes it worth the price. And if you haven’t read anything else, it isn’t a bad intro in general.
I really enjoyed this book. It's clear and concise and full of excellent tips to grow your Etsy Empire. Thank you Eric for taking the time to write such a useful book!
Wonderful Guide for Newcomers and More Experienced Users
The guide is broken into easily digested sections, including those listed below.

In the words of the author:
"I provide this personal resume, if you will, only so that the reader knows where I am coming from when I provide this information. You may be able to find portions of this information (how do you think I learned to do it?) online or in books, but most of this material comes from my personal experiences locating and selling materials and items online. You cannot find most of this information for free, and if you were to try to surf the ‘net and put this together, it would take you a very long time."
Eric Michael's book Etsy Empire: Proven Tactics for Your Etsy Business Success, Including Etsy SEO, Etsy Shop Building, Social Media for Etsy and Etsy Pricing Tips (Almost Free Money) is the perfect guide for both newcomers and more experienced users.

I found this to be a very helpful, user-friendly book. I knew very little about how to utilize Etsy before I started reading this book. Full of useful information that explained some of the questions I had. Love the idea of making extra money from selling off the internet. It is a step by step book that explains it all. Very straightforward and not at all complicated. This is something that I can hold onto and refer back to later on. In tough times we need all the help we can get and I believe I will be able to start running a successful page because of this helpful book geared to assist in answering all questions. Highly recommended.

"Remember, the great thing about Etsy Empire, Almost Free Money and Passive Income for Life is that as soon as you sell your first item, you have already made profit on your book order! Where else can you say that about any investment?"
With Etsy being so big right now, this is a great manual to have. I love the way that it broke down how to be successful on Etsy in an easy to understand manner. It even went so far as telling how to drive traffic to your Etsy page. This is a must read for anyone who is involved or thinking of becoming involved with Etsy.
Etsy has become the wave of the future and this manual is very opportune. The author covers all aspects of Etsy. The booklet is written in such a manner that even a novice like myself will have no problem understanding and implementing the program. The book even gives the reader assignments to do that utilize Etsy. Great information for anyone who is thinking of using and working with Etsy.
If you’ve ever thought about turning your creative hobby into a business, this book is gold. Eric Michael breaks down all the steps in a clear, no-fluff way that makes launching and growing an Etsy shop feel totally doable. I picked up so many tips that I can actually use — five stars for being super practical and inspiring!
Lots of useful info, however of you've been running a shop for several years you are probably already aware of many of the points made in this short ebook. I recommend this for people who are thinking about starting a shop or who have just gotten into selling on Etsy.
Fast read. Tons of information I did not learn in other books about Etsy. I am looking forward to reading his other books and using the information to grow my Etsy shop.
As a new seller, I found this book very helpful. The info that is outdated doesn’t take away from the overall value for someone still learning the ropes imho. I’ve made a few sales right after making some of the suggested changes, so I’m extremely happy that I found this book!
For people who already know how Etsy works that might not be the best book for you because most of the info are not really new . But it's obviously a really great book for a new Etsian.
A book for beginners, but definitely not for me as I am an advanced Etsy user. If you have just started Etsy or you want to start this book could be a great book for you!
This was a pretty solid book, but it assumes you know quite a bit about technical aspects of social media that I didn't know. Too much unexplained jargon.
