Trek: The Galapagos Collection

Rate this book
In 2014, freelance writer and Caltech-trained biologist Miceala Shocklee traveled with a handful other scientists to the Galapagos Islands. The stories, poems, and photographs of this booklet are the result of that trip. Every work in this booklet was written, composed, and shot while hiking volcanoes, riding pangas, and exploring lava fields. Every single one of these stories began back on the islands, an incredible archipelago straddling both the Northern and the Southern hemispheres that has become home to some of the strangest and most beautiful of the world’s creatures. Herein is flight. Herein is fancy. Herein are the figments of a mind in the Galapagos.

I'm a freelance scribbler scrawler type just emerging from a stint that got me a B.S. in biology (and another in English) from Caltech. I am irrevocably in love with the ocean and have a bloodstream that's probably 80% coffee.

Oh yeah, I've published some word things. I think they're called books. You should check them out and let me know.
