Former FBI agent and lawyer Max Stark is released from prison. When he inherits a former police dog named Rock he decides to get training to become a dog handler. He starts dating a federal prosecutor. The local political-corruption case she is working on becomes national when she finds out a high-ranking federal official is involved. The American president dies. It appears to be a natural death. But Max suspects otherwise because the death seems related to the corruption case. He and Rock investigate. The shocking truth they uncover changes everything.
W.J. Costello has done it again. Corruption is the first book about Max Stark who is a former FBI agent and Lawyer just released from prison and trying to get his life in order. Then stuff happens. I have been a fan of this author for quite some time now and have read almost everything he has written. I first thought that this is not my cup of tea but I got the book and it was really fun reading, now I wait for the second one in this new series.
Short novel. There must be sequels because most of this one was to introduce Max and his tracking dog, Rock. The corruption plot was sort of a sideline. Very entertaining and humorous.
