Rate this book
A missing girl. A femme fatale. A dark family secret. What starts as an unofficial investigation into his neighbor's disappearance drags Sgt. Wu deep into a world of Wesen intrigue. In the vein of classic film noir tales, Wu unravels a case that could not only cost him his job, but his life. Two complete tales, never before published and set in the official continuity of the Grimm television show!

Been a long time since I have read a graphic novel. I brought this because I've watched the tv series and loved it. I loved this too.

This graphic novel featured 2 solo stories.

The first one starred Detective Wu and the second Renard in a story from his rookie days. Both are good, but neither are anything special. It was cool to see Wu in a lead role, especially since it was a noirish story. The story with Renard I didn't like quite as much because it focused on him as more of a villain, which is something the show has recently veered away from. The art was par for the course with the Grimm comic, good but not great.

Once again, if you enjoy the show you'll like this graphic novel, but if you aren't familiar with the show this wouldn't really be a good place to start.

I loved these two stories, although the official dynamite series was good these are immensely better. We finally get to flesh out Sgt Wu and Sean Renard, two characters that haven't really been too explored up to series 3. The artwork is good though they don't really look like the characters. The stories are imaginative and I can't speak highly enough, I hope as the series on TV continues there are more opportunities for these type of stories.
