Grayson Hawkes considered the cryptic "Your journey so far was just the start, to bring you to this crossroads. You had to be entrusted with the things Walt created before you could be entrusted with the secrets of Walt himself. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense to you… yet. But trust me, it will." Hawk's wildest dream was fulfilled when he was placed in charge of the international entertainment empire Walt Disney created. But living the dream is not only hard work-it's dangerous business, because the heroes and villains surrounding Hawk are very real, and they're playing for keeps. In Storming the Kingdom, the much-anticipated third installment in the Dixon On Disney series (The Key to the Kingdom; Unlocking the Kingdom), author Jeff Dixon once again blends fact, history, and Disney trivia together to draw an action-packed page turner. This time, Hawk must solve a mystery that will drive him into a past he never knew existed, to change a future where the entire world is depending on him. Racing against the forces of evil, the hands of time, and the fury of nature, Hawk must navigate the blurry line between right and wrong, trusting that his beliefs, his wisdom, and his uncanny knowledge of all things Disney will help him protect a shocking secret-something conspiracy theorists have speculated about for years. But how far is Hawk willing to go? Is he willing to die?
Jeff is the author of a series of books set in Central Florida, in and around the Walt Disney World Resort. These mystery thrillers are loaded with trivia, hidden secrets, and loaded with adventure as parody, reality, and fiction built on fact (or "faction" as some have called it, collide in epic stories that are designed to take readers on the ultimate thrill ride.
This book continues the story of the pastor (turned lead of the Disney company) Grayson Hawk. If you love Disney World and it’s facts, this book is perfect for you. The mystery takes many turns and twists and there are some surprise guests that return from the previous two books. Although the ending did have a sad part, the whole meaning and resolution was satisfying. I love the combination of Christianity and Disney’s legacy which guide Hawk as he battles through family, friends, assassins, and evil plots. The reason this book did not receive five stars was there was a confusing element surrounding outer space, but this did not hinder the reading experience to a high degree.
This series keeps getting better! This installment was action-packed and at times heart-wrenching. I loved all the fun trivia as well. I'm a Disney Junkie and this series reveals details about the parks that I didn't know about. I can't wait to get back to WDW this summer to look for all these cool details. I'm so tempted to start the final installment, like right now, but I'm holding off because I simply don't want the magic to end.
It's bad enough that Grayson "Hawk" Hawkes, the Chief Creative Architect of the Walt Disney Company, has to deal with a Category Three hurricane heading straight for Walt Disney World in Central Florida.
The physical storm Hawk, and the resort, can handle; it's the storms of deceit, sabotage, and betrayal which may overcome him.
Not to mention at least two different groups who are either trying to acquire Walt Disney's secrets, or at least trying to stop Hawk from getting them ... and both are willing to kill if necessary.
As the utmost Disney lover i loved all the facts and the descriptions carrying through about the parks and resorts but for the story itself it almost dragged on a little too long.. if i could do half star I'd do 3.5. It was better than 3 but not quite 4.
So not happy with how this ended and all the stuff that would never be true. It was so far out there that I couldn't get past it. Not my favorite.
And it went way too much into the religion thing. Yeah, he lost his wife and kids and beloved girlfriend. But all was good because she went willingly to Jesus. Yeah. Not so much. Lost me there.

The thing I dislike the most though is that these books can be uncomfortably preachy at times, and I thought this one was more so than the first two books.
This book was much darker than the first but still provided a chance to escape into a world of "more." More magic, more history, more Disney and a new puzzle to solve.
continuing ' who done it ' series set in WDW by Jeff Dixon..... they continue to get better as we move through, this is #3 in the series. If you like Disney and like cloak and dagger stories, these are for you.
