I love Agatha Christie!
While this book us not my ALL-time favorite Christie novel, it has all the right elements to make it a classic hit. It has mystery, intrigue, and a country setting filled with a diverse assortment of characters.
Dame Agatha also interjects humorous scenes to keep readers on their toes. Case in point: during an interlude at the country estate of Chimneys, young visitors decide to teach their friend Gerald Wade a lesson.
Wade seems unable to get up at a decent hour in the morning, so his companions play a trick on him Each one purchases an alarm clock to be set off at short intervals from one another. The joke backfires when young Gerald never awakens.
He has been murdered.
And so the mystery of the seven dials begins to heat up. Enter Bundle, a carefree young lady whose father owns Chimneys. She is determined to uncover the secret of why Gersld Wade had to die.
This illustrated edition only adds to the fun of revisiting one of Agatha Christie's early novels.
