I must have read this book a hundred times when I was a kid and had completely forgotten about it until I came across a different book by the same author in a vintage market stall! The memory came flooding back and I searched for a copy, but no luck.
However, someone made a read-along video on YouTube, so I got to 'read' it again! (It's out of print, and folks want $34(!) for it online.)
I don't remember the first time I picked up a paintbrush, whether it was before or after reading this story, but the illustrations were indelibly imprinted on my brain! 😀
Its funny how some images influence you in your life and hold such meaning decades later. That red scarf Panda paints...and the pink hat...so minor, yet so vivid.
This is the story of a little Panda and his new set of paints. This book is excellent for a toddler. It is educational about colors (ie what happens when Panda accidentally mixes his blue and yellow paint?) while still being an enjoyable story. The artwork is very detailed and colorful without overwhelming the eye. I would recommend this to any parent starting to teach their child about art and colors.
It is the wonderful story of a little Panda bear who receives a paint box from his father. The box has all the primary colors, which are mentioned in the story. After his masterpiece, Panda bear is colorful too!
A sweet little book that teaches children about blending colors to make new ones ...and ends with a panda bear in the bathtub. My kids have asked for this book repeatedly; it is a family favorite!
This was my favorite book as a kid; however it is no longer in print. I wore out the copy I had as a child. After the binding fell apart and broke my mom laminated each of the pages and connected them together with string run through a hole she punched in each of the pages. A few years ago my wife went online and found a copy for sale on Ebay for me. I love reading it to the kids when they were little. It is still my all-time favorite kids book.
This book belonged to my sister but I loved it so much I kept it. (Sorry Cho.) Panda Bear gets a paint-box and as he paints a picture he learns what happens when you mix primary colors together. The pictures are basic but I love the way the paint looks, wet and thick. I also love that Panda gets covered in it and has to be bathed.
I read "Panda Bear's Paintbox" to my daughter Erin before she could read. One night she asked to read it back to me. And she did, from memory!, because she couldn't yet read! I read "Panda Bear's Paintbox" to Erin the day before her birthday for many years. Erin is thirty-three years old today and we both cherish this book!
I was given this book as a gift by my art teacher as a kid. I found it recently and thought it was perfect timing because we were talking about primary colors with my niece. So nice when old books can still have great use. And even though I loved it, its still in good enough shape to read today.
This was one of my favorite stories when I was growing up. My copy is old and worn out, but I still read it to my son! It is full of color and shows kids that they can be creative.
