I am reading this as part of my classroom library. It is one of my classroom favorites and comes highly recommend by my 6th graders. I can sed why. Tons of information about the prison and people who were sent there. It painted a picture of how brutal the prison was.

A short collection of stories about Alcatraz and the criminals who resided there over the years. High interest content, very simplistic sentence structure.

This was a nonfiction book about Alcatraz, a prison by the San Fransisco BAy. It was baout the life of the prisoners. I always knew life in prison was a just like hell, however this put a new spin on it. I really saw brutal jail was and can be.
