Alien Feast

Rate this book
THE WAR OF THE WORLDS MEETS DOUGLAS ADAMS as two kids and one old man prepare to save the world. Things are getting better with the alien invasion. Sure it's still not too uncommon to come home and find your step-parents reduced to a pile of unsavory feet―but at least now with the disease killing the aliens off, you have a relatively decent chance of making it through a day without getting mostly eaten. William knows this first-hand, having lost both his step-parents, but when the aliens kidnap his long-time crush Sophie's scientist parents (and the government won't help) it's up to William, Sophie, and William's bizarre Uncle Maynard to save them…and perhaps the rest of the world while they are at it. A hysterically twisted adventure that will knock your feet off!

This book is the best book I've read. It has so much action in it. Every once in a while it has some pictures to give you a visual idea. That is what makes the book so good.

I am not a big science fiction fan, but this book is pretty good. William seems to have a not so good home life because his stepparents aren't very nice to him, but the aliens took care of that when they ate them. The aliens invaded and everyone just keeps clear, but once Williams stepparents are eaten he must make a choice to leave. He leaves and goes to his Uncle Maynard's house who is a little strange but was his inspiration for learning and loving the violin. He picks up a friend, Sophie, along the way who's parents were kidnapped because they are doctors. Turns out the aliens are dying because of a virus on our planet...here's a hint, you probably had it as a kid and you really shouldn't scratch them ;)
Things turn when they all realize that the mayor may be in on whatever is happening with the aliens. Not to mention, he may also be responsibly for Sophie's parents being kidnapped. It is an interesting book for juvenile readers.

Have you ever seen your step parents be eaten by alien nand all thats left is there feet?Well Willams step parents were eaten by aliens and now Williams is trying to get to Uncle Maynard house. This book is science fiction because there is aliens in 2017.I honestly didn't like this book because it basically takes place at Uncle Maynard house and they are taking about were Sophie(Williams friend)parents might be since her parents were kidnapped by the aliens and a man.

In the beginning in 2017 Williams step parents were eaten by aliens,so hes figuring out how to get to his Uncle Maynard house and the only way to get there was to drive a car.Even though he doesn't know how to drive a car he still going to his Uncles house. On the way to his Uncle's house,he sees his friend Sophie on the curb crying. He asked whats wrong and she said I just saw my parents being kidnapped by aliens and he said lets go to my uncles house. When he gets to his Uncles house he stops at the gate where there was cameras. As Sophie tells the story to Uncle Maynard how she saw her parents get kidnapped, on t.v. the mayor was speaking and Sophie said thats man who kidnapped my parents with the aliens. So they go to the mayors house to ask whos that man who mtook Sophies parents. The conflict is setting because it goes from Wiliams,Sophies,Uncle Maynards, and the Mayors ofice.Williams just a regular kid .Sophies tall (not that tall, just a little taller than William)and kinda cool.Uncle Maynard is old and he was violin player. he always whore a hat and sweater everywhere.

I couldn't understand why in the beginnig since sophies parent were kidnapped, all Sophie did was cry outside.I mean if your parents were kidnapped dont just stay outside were the aliens can eat you.She should atleast hide somewhere so the aliens wont find you.I wish if i was her i would hide somewhere with my neighbor so nobody can find me.Its like do you want to be eaten.this reminds me of scary movies where there is that dumb girl who does nothing.

I was angry when they just most of the time sitting there and talking.Im like all do is talk than figuring out how to find sophies parent than other things. My favorite was when they killed the alien three times with a ray gun.

I dont like this book, I would not recomend this book. I rate this book on ascale to1-10 is a 2 because is wasn't goood. At first i thought I would like because I like reading science fiction but i didnt like it at all.

"Alien Feast," created by Michael Simmons and George O' Connor, is a science fictional book in which William, the protagonist, encounters an alien invasion and finds the true meaning of life. It is around year 2017, and William's step-parents were eaten by "gooey and rotten" aliens. Even around a pre-teen age, he begins to drive a car to his "long-time crush, Sophie," only to find out that her scientist parents were kidnapped by those aliens too. It is up to William, Sophie, and his uncle, Uncle Maynard, as they go on a quest to save Sophie's parents from the aliens, with the power of their knowledges and their ray gun.

I was actually interested of how the title page was structured, but not of how the story was made. At first, I was actually curious as to why there would have been an alien invasion, only to know that the story lacked a lot of details. In fact, it only stated that the aliens were there to make humans actually find a cure to the disease that continued to make themselves perish. My favorite character in the book would actually be Uncle Maynard because 1) he plays the violin, and 2) he acts a lot like me, since he eats the same food almost everyday, which also seems surprising that he relates to me in spite of being an old man. I actually have no favorite part in the book because since it lacked a lot of details, it truly made me uninterested. Although, my least favorite part of the book would be when someone unexpectedly dies.(SPOILER) It makes you just say, "Why do bad things have to happen to good people?"

I gave this book two stars because the author really should of well-considered of placing more details upon the major plots. I slightly recommend this book to specifically males from ages 14 and younger, since it really gives you humor. As you read this book, you may imagine that the setting of this place is similar to a place like Area 51, yet also relate to the problem William emotionally and personally faces in the story.

The year is 2017 and an alien invasion is going and the world is at stake.the aliens are attacking earth in this amazing and thrilling science fiction novel.

This book is set in the future in 2017 with aliens and amazing technology. The aliens wanted to take over the world. But there was a crazy alien virus thats killing aliens. So Humans get an advantage over the aliens cause there less aliens. Then humans win the war and peace is restoring.William is your average kid.Sophie is his beautiful crush.Uncle Manyard is just an averge guy tring to help out. When Sophie is in trouble Micheal steps up to help.

I belive this is one of the best science fiction novel for kids. This uses humor and good action sequences. This reminds me of H.G Wells books. This reminds of Discovery Channel and area 51.

This book is amazing it discusses very good extrasterrestial beings. With good explanations and funny humor. This reminds me of the book called war of the worlds by H.G Wells it discusses aliens taking over the world.

This book is is one of the best books in general its funny thrilling and entertaining.I give this book a good 9 its amazing because it has everything kids want action and Humor.I would reccomend this book toanyone enjoys science fiction and likes fun books.Well anyway overall an amazing book about aliens.

Years after an invasion by a race of unintelligent aliens with a hunger for human flesh (minus the feet), William discovers that his horrid stepparents have been eaten by some aliens and that they have abducted the scientist parents of his longtime crush, Sophie. The two kids join forces with William’s strange uncle Maynard to find Sophie’s parents and defeat the aliens. The characters are well-drawn, and the plot moves well, but the tone sometimes made me think of Lemony Snicket, so the book works better for younger kids. First in a series.

I just thought that it moved too slow. There was a lot of narration, something between Lemony Snicket and Douglas Adams. Some sort of ironic tone. Likeable characters. 12-year-old William loses almost everyone he loves, which is actually sad. Goes off on a quest with friend Sophie and an uncle, manages to survive and learns to local leaders have sold out to the aliens, aliens have kidnapped scientist-parents of Sophie, to find cure for a virus that kills many of them, more sad things happen, ends with William deciding to go and find his brother at Great Harbor.

This book is one out of many awesome that I have read in my reading in the language class. this made me feel that I was in another world also this book made me feel amazed on the main characters who were on a mission to rescue Sophie’s parents from the aliens who kidnapped them .and had to find out why the alien have invaded earth and eaten almost the entire population.
I recommend this book to all sci-fi fans everywhere because this book is out of this world and this book will entertain kids from 13-16 year olds.

Easier than "The True Meaning of Smekday," but not as poignant, Alien Feast is a Snicket-like look at a world invaded by huge hideous aliens who eat people (but not their feet). In the briefest of toasts to the invasion of NA by the Europeans, the aliens are suffering from a mysterious disease. William, his Uncle Maynard, and friend Sophie set off in search of Sophie's parents, who have been kidnapped by the aliens to find a cure for the disease. Mildly humorous, definitely the first of a series, but I don't know that I'll go out of my way to read the next one. I don't care that much.

Well, y'know. Sort of your average, everyday, alien invasion fare. Kind of felt like a play on "Smekday" but without J. Lo (which is a bit of a mistake). Eh.

This book is hilarious. The characters are great (the human characters, though the aliens are awesome in their own bizarre fashion), I can't wait to see what happens in the sequel...

Wow! What a great opening that grabs you and keeps you reading. (I said the first day...) Then it got a little slow. Not enough alien action scenes for my taste, but still satisfying.

NO for our library.

Not a strongly written book, at least from the first 25 pages... where I'm most impressionable. Regrettably, I didn't give this book much of a chance... and stopped at page 46.

Man-eating aliens and ray guns. Underhanded mayors and nasty step-parents. Good sci-fi choice for 4th-6th graders, especially boys.

Really liked the premise of this book - didn't like the writing. Won't work as a literary lunch book, which is what I was really looking for.
