Hay como cien libros con el mismo título, entre los que seguramente habrá muchos mediocres, algunos pésimos y otros buenos. El de Vermès parece ser de esos últimos. Su lectura sería mucho más llevadera si los fragmentos, intercalados entre el estudio documental y una reseña historia de las sectas esenias y de Qumran, hubiera sido puesta al final.

This is a very good overall summation of the Scrolls and what they represent (according to this author and other historians). It is full of other references that a reader could use for further and more precise research/study.

Vermes was convertite, Augustinian priest and monk, but deVaux Jesuite' frater so antisemitist, that Vermes review Judaism, and let by member of a Liberal Synagogue of London.
