About the author

Steven Bragg is a former chief financial officer and controller, and author of 300+ business courses and 50 business books. To get away from the business world, he is also the trail running author of Run the Rockies, a PADI-certified Master Diver, an avid skier and mountain biker, and two-time president of the Colorado Mountain Club. He is also the author of the science fiction novels Under an Autumn Sun and Early Winter, the first two novels in The Auditors trilogy.

Очень устаревшая книга.

Для начинающих финдиров пойдёт. А в моём случае...

Нового мало, и реально ценными оказались только первые три главы и два приложения. Остальное очень заточено под рынок США, каким он был в 1980е и 1990е, и даже глава об электронной коммерции не спасает.

Часть материала стоит читать со скоростью 10-12 страниц в минуту, а часть вообще не релевантна если только вы не ведёте операции с американскими контрагентами и вам не нужно понимать особенности их работы.

Особенно раздражали описания работы с бумажными чеками на оплату и лучшие практики такой работы. Хорошо, что хоть не с пингвинами. Хотя пользы было бы столько же.

This is a very useful book, written by an experienced former CFO. The title is a bit misleading, since it is about financial management (e.g. accounting, tax, capital, funding) not about leadership (i.e. influencing others towards a common goal).
