This is a well written romance novella with some suspense thrown in. The hero is sent to guard the General's daughter from a threat, just as he's about to go on R & R and naturally he falls for her. The story has some suspense and action near the end. This type of plot has been done heaps of times and there is a lot packed into this shorter story, so a longer, more detailed version, would probably have made more sense.

The insta-lust thoughts, by both the H/h, were eye rolling to read, because they were SO full on and never-ending. In my opinion, the author was trying to establish this was a romance...? Okay. Then, their relationship ramps up to full on steamy scenes within a couple days. Naturally there are push/pull, yes/no sections. The sex scenes were nicely done when they finally happened.

My opinion, how about making something slow burn and believable if the main story is done and dusted in 3 days or so? Anyway, I enjoy Rita's books and this one was entertaining, if predictable.

Very intriguing, sexy and wow! How can you not love a sexy as hell special ops military guy...love Max and Willow. Willow is feisty, flirty and self conscience of her looks. Love these two together . This story kept me on my toes, it's a real page turner and you won't want to put it down until its done. Loved the action and sexy ness of the story, but can't say enough about Max...wow! Just as expected: she doesn't want to fall in love witha military man while he doesn't want to commit to any women and of course they fall in love - with the help of a lot of sexual heat between them from first sight. And as predicted he saves her life. But it's written nicely. (reading) — 0 minutes ago

Very nice!

Rita is approaching my top five authors. You can always count on more than one perpetrator. I usually can't guess the bad guys but in this one I was able to guess one of them. The only thing this book was missing is her signature gore, which I missed.
