Sybil is a career-driven Philadelphian native. A crime show enthusiast by day, and a BDSM club hopper by night. When she isn't working or writing, she is talking about working and writing. She is a single mom to her beta fish (Fish) and way too many dead houseplants.
Her stories range from gray to black, with darker themes throughout. She prefers heroines with a kick-ass mentality and the heroes who know how to rein them in. The mental and medical aspects of her books are well-researched, though they are given a humanistic approach and diagnoses aren't the focal points. She believes her characters don't need to wear labels in order to get her messages across.
Her books are mostly standalones, though her characters may interact and intersect worlds. Additionally, she works closely with and writes alongside author Dahlia Reign and some characters will appear in cameos in each of their publications.
Well, I just finished the book and… wow. I freaking loved it. It’s absolutely fantastic and over-the-top in the best way. It’s my first book by this author and honestly? I’m obsessed with her humor and the way she writes. This book was dark as hell but also hilarious. There were scenes where I was literally laughing my ass off. I love how she mixes heavy, messed-up topics with that sharp, sarcastic humor.
Obviously, this book is NOT for everyone. Some people will probably think the way she handles certain themes is too cynical, because yeah — they’re pretty dark. But it also made me question my own mental health, to be honest. I’ve basically accepted that I’m just as unhinged as the books I read. And that’s fine.
I loved the dynamic between Cain and Jules. The way their relationship grows, the character development, the whole story… everything. The ending? I loved it. One of those what the actual fuck moments.
Overall, I enjoyed this book so much. I could’ve easily read 200 more pages. And now I can’t wait to read the next ones because I’m sure they’re going to be wild too. And seriously — read the trigger warnings. This book is clearly not for everyone. Some people won’t vibe with how the themes are handled. But my humor is twisted, dark, and dry, so the author’s style fits perfectly with my personality. And at the end of the day, it’s fiction. No need to take everything so seriously.
It also shows that people with trauma aren’t just one thing — nothing is black and white, there’s a whole world of grey in between.
Five giant stars, and I’m dying to read more from this author.
Cain escapes Briarwood with Nurse Kellar and murder on his mind… except plot twist.. instead of killing her, he saves her. They both carry dark pasts, and watching that shared damage pull them together was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their dynamic was perfection, especially the Christmas trope (he loves it, she hates it). The inner dialogue and the banter were darkly funny and ridiculously entertaining.
I was honestly shocked by how much more plot than spice there was (in the best way). Sybil’s writing style is dark and addictive, but still has this sharp, fun edge to it. The Renegades series was already on my TBR, but now it’s been launched straight to the top.
And that ending?? I actually said out loud, “What do you mean it’s over?!” It was unexpected and abrupt, left me with questions… and made me desperate for more.
CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS ⚠️
•206 Pages •Dark Stalker Romance •Masked Man (they do it better, right Sybil?) •Part of The Renegade Series •Nurse x Patient •Forced Proximity (Snowed in)
First of all, I usually THRIVE on books with trigger warnings and don’t think twice about them… but this book? Yeah, Sybil absolutely means it when she adds one 💀 Consider me humbled.
This novella was absolutely wild (in the best way). Her writing style is so unique and the storyline had me hooked instantly. I blew through it and immediately wanted more. Like I finished this instantly then took a good few hours to figure out how to word how I felt about it. This is 1000% the kind of story that would make a insane movie.
Spice-wise, I wouldn’t call it super spicy (maybe it’s just not my usual flavor), but I’d rate it like… Taco Bell hot sauce level or 2.5 out of 5 🌶️.
And the CHARACTERS?! I loved the dynamic between Jules & Caine. The suspense was insane & I genuinely had no idea what was happening half the time in the best way possible. And that ending?? My mouth was hanging, jaw allllll the way on the floor.
Caine is notably like standard horrible as far as psychopaths go, but also like, you can’t reaaaallly fault the dude can you? Jules is… I don’t know man at first you really empathize with her but by the ending I’m not super sure about her. Which brings me back to my previous statement, THE ENDING?!?! I need another book now or I might actually pass away.
So overall? Read it. But also, totally be emotionally prepared.
Dark romance Christmas time novella: Cain and Juliet “Jules” This is a forced proximity, morally pitch black MMC, series childhood trauma for both MMC and FMC, nurse x psych patient, taboo/forbidden romance, trauma bond, stalker, addiction and mental health rep, dark romance. First and foremost: I definitely recommend reading the trigger warnings. This book is pitch black from page one. So many trigger warnings. Two pages. This was definitely a wild ride and a very dark romance. Cain is a serial unaliver. So immediately you know this isnt going to be your average or traditional love story. He sets his sights on a nurse at Briarwood Sanitarium but things dont go according to plan when he brakes out and goes to “collect”. This was a completely unhinged and one of the most morally black MMCs I’ve read in a long time.
Non-Spoiler ARC Review📚 Sybil Knight has struck again! And just in time for the holidays.
I needed a few days to get my thoughts and words together to write my review. First, WOW! This novella was so freaking GOOD. If you’ve ever read Ms. Knight’s work before, then you know how she dances on the imaginary line of Pitch Black and Splatter Punk. I cannot stress enough, READ THE TW’s.
I LOVE a good mental health and asylum rep. We are given a completely insane, unhinged MMC, who escapes from an insane asylum to stalk and unalive his next victim. Only to arrive to find a disturbing scene unfolding. Well, that just won’t do, not for this psychotic MMC. Springing into action, now the villain somehow becomes the hero, or does he really? Very questionable things happen during these hours, and we get a deep dive into a serial un-alivers mind and memories. Caine and Nurse Keller’s story were both intriguing and disturbing.
As mentioned before, ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ is a novella that is a fast-paced, addictive, yet quick read. It’s perfect for those dark, twisted romance lovers looking to hit those reading goals… while giving some holiday cheer…LOL. I'm hoping with the abrupt ending, we are going to get more of the story in future books. I have a feeling, this is not the end of the line for these characters.
Every time I finish a Sybil Knight book, I’m left asking the same thing: What the f$@k did I just read—and why isn’t there more?! This standalone novella delivers that signature chaotic brilliance, wrapped in a great plot with a trigger warning list longer than my TBR pile. (Seriously—read the TWs. Your mental health matters.)
The dynamic between the MMC and FMC is electric. Their chemistry, their growth, and the wild path they carve together kept me hooked from the first page. Every twist felt sharp, intentional, and deliciously unpredictable—exactly what I expect from Knight.
Intense, addictive, and impossible to put down. An absolute must-read for fans of dark and twisty novellas.
If you crave more Briarwood chaos, this novella is the perfect holiday snack. It serves blood, trauma, snow, questionable décor choices, and the kind of romance where both parties probably need a wellness check. Our escaped Briarwood patient stumbles into a woman who has already committed her own messy crime, and from there the vibes turn into winter wonderland meets true crime meets flirting with danger. Shockingly, they have chemistry and banter that feels uncomfortably adorable, which probably says something terrible about me as a reader.
The pacing is fast, the tension is addictive, and the humor is delightfully twisted. The spice level sits somewhere between Taco Bell hot sauce and emotional damage with benefits. The story digs into trauma and mental instability without slowing down the action, and I kept asking myself if I should be rooting for these two or simply observing from a safe distance with snacks. The ending slammed into me like a snowplow and now I demand a sequel.
Please check the trigger warnings before opening the first page. Sybil Knight does not play games with sensitive topics, so consider this novella both festive and hazardous. I will absolutely reread it every December instead of watching cozy Christmas movies because nothing says holiday spirit like unhinged characters making terrible choices under twinkle lights.
Even serial killers have a type. Unfortunately, tonight, that type is you. You can feel it, can't you? The way I've been watching you night after night. Patiently waiting for you to turn around and give me a glimpse of those eyes.
This was my first Sybil Knight book, and I cannot wait to read more. I’ll Be Seeing You is a dark, twisted read that had me on edge from start to finish. Juliet, a nurse, and Cain, a dangerously unstable patient, are drawn into a tense, forbidden connection where obsession, desire, and darkness collide. Short, intense, and shocking, it kept me hooked and questioning who is really in control and if I'll ever find any triggers lol
If you love psychological thrillers, dark romance, and characters who are thrillingly broken, this one is for you.
Tropes: - Horror Romance - Serial Killer MMC - Nurse and Patient - Mental Illness Representation - Forced Proximity - Dark Chemistry
Please remember to check the triggers before reading! Cain doesn’t just break out of Briarwood, he erupts from it with blood on his mind and Nurse Kellar marked as his next kill… until everything flips. Instead of ending her, he saves her, and that twist alone had me feral. Both of them are haunted by the kind of pasts that scar your soul, and watching those broken pieces recognize each other was absolutely electric. Their chemistry? Addictive chaos. The Christmas trope! he worships it, she despises it, and their banter walks that razor-thin line between hilarious and borderline psychotic in the best possible way. I was shook by the balance of plot and spice here. Sybil delivers tension, danger, and a rich storyline while still keeping the heat simmering beneath every glance. Her writing is dark, sharp, and impossible to step away from. The Renegades series was already on my TBR, but after this? It skyrocketed straight to #1 with zero remorse. And that ending?? I still can’t believe it’s over! Abrupt, shocking, full of dangling questions and delicious torment.
If you like dark romance and have no triggers this book is for you! The smut is definitely spicy and may even have you questioning your boundaries regarding possible kinks. This is a very short book as it only took me about an hour and a half to read but it is packed full of plot and smut. Even though this is a spin off of her renegades series which I have also read, it’s easy to read this as a stand alone without any knowledge of the series itself. The main characters in this book will keep you engaged regarding who/what they are and the story line as to what made them the way that they are bit by bit. While I would’ve liked a chapter or 2 more to describe what happens to the characters after the ending I understand why she ended it where she did. It does not end on a cliff hanger just an fyi. Based on the story line It would work well as prequel to the series or a stand alone. Overall it’s an excellent story.
I'll Be Seeing You is a dark romance novella of the Briarwood Sanitarium series, but it is a standalone. Cane is all kinds of mucked up with his Trauma and then he comes face to face with another walking trauma bucket, Nurse Keller. If these two weren't made for each other, I don't know who is! Both weird. Both reactive. Both need each other in some crazy ways! Throw in a s**doll and BOOM, a match made in a padded room. I always recommend reading a Sybil Knight book when you're ready to question your morals and what you can justify in a fictional relationship.
4.5/5 I'll Be Seeing You is Sybil Knight's newest book. It is a Dark Christmas-y novella, that I enjoyed a lot!
I am definitely the type of person to skip the trigger warnings when I read a book, but just because we care about you, please please read them before you start this book!! There are some really dark chapters that could be triggering for some people.
I love Sybil's writing, and how her dark mind thinks up these twisted stories. Every time I read her books, I question myself and wonder if there's something wrong with me for enjoying it so much lol
We have our Serial Killer/Stalker MMC who has a traumatic childhood which leads to why he is the way he is, but then we learn that there is another side to him.
Our Nurse FMC also goes through a bunch of trauma when she's younger. She becomes the object of our MMCs "affection".
I definitely didn't find this book as spicy...BUT the ending was such a twist and shock that I didn't see coming, it made up for it for sure!!
For such a short book, it hits unbelievably hard. I finished it in one sitting because I physically couldn’t stop — every chapter dragged me deeper into the tension, the fear, the chemistry, the twisted comfort these characters find in each other. It’s packed with plot, emotion, and spice in a way that feels almost overwhelming, but in the best possible way.
Cain and Kellar’s connection is magnetic. He escapes Briarwood with murder in his thoughts, yet something in him shifts when he chooses to save her instead. They’re both carrying pasts that have left deep marks, and watching those wounds meet — clash — and slowly interlock was one of my favorite parts of the story. Their dark humor made me smile, their fights made my chest tighten, and the push-and-pull between them felt dangerously real.
Even though this story stands perfectly on its own, it still feels rich and layered. You learn who they are bit by bit, as if peeling back bruised skin to reveal the truth underneath. And just when you think you’re settling into their world… it ends.
That ending absolutely stunned me. I literally said out loud, “Wait, that’s it?” It was abrupt, unexpected, and left me with so many questions. I wasn’t ready to let go — I needed more, desperately.
Overall, it’s a gripping, dark, emotional novella that keeps echoing in your mind long after you’ve finished.
Make sure to check the trigger warnings — this one goes deep. ⚠️
This is a novella holiday spinoff from the Briarwood Sanitorium series featuring nurse Juliet and the inmate Cain, and honestly, it was such a fun, dark little read. Cain has this terrifying tendency to target women who remind him of someone, and when he sets his sights on Juliet, it seems like she should be his next victim. But things take a sharp turn when he sneaks into her house, he doesn’t expect to care, he doesn’t expect to keep her alive, and he definitely doesn’t expect to find someone who can match the broken pieces inside him.
I absolutely loved this novella. It’s short, it’s dark, it’s perfect for the holidays if you’re in the mood for something a little twisted and romantic. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, intense read that still has that signature Briarwood edge.
⟣Tropes⟢ ✅ 🖤 Morally Black MMC 🖤 ✅ Dual POV’s (first person) ✅ Captor/Captive (in a sense) ✅ No OW/OM drama ✅ FMC not Virgin ✅ Masked MMC ✅ Serial Unaliver ✅ HEA
‼️‼️‼️Trigger Warning‼️‼️‼️ I don’t have any specific triggers and was okay reading it without any warnings, but always take care of your mental health before diving in, since this book definitely has triggers.
first I need all to know that I really thought this was an erotic horror (when I sign up I knew what it was because of course i read it but when i get my arcs i don't go see the tropes again because i like to go blind) so all my thoughts are with that in mind😳🫣
omgggg how unhinged was thissss mmc???? stalker, fake doctor???😱😱 it was so smutty!! but with so much plot for such a quick read🤧🤧 now I really need to go back and read the rest of the authors books🤭🤭
I’ll Be Seeing You was one clever, witty, bloody ride from start to finish. I couldn’t stop laughing at Cain. His inner and outer monologue had me feral. The writing is razor-sharp, darkly funny, and detailed in a way that pulls you straight into the madness. And that twist at the end? Phenomenal. I need more Juliet and more Cain immediately.
This is definitely not a traditional love story… not even close. A murder story, maybe, but also not quite that either. It’s brilliant, brutal, and beautifully deranged, showing how two broken people can either stitch tiny pieces of each other back together… or drag each other deeper into the dark.
Also, I will never look at a bag of red Doritos the same way again.
My GOODNESS! Anything Sybil writes I DEVOUR and this wasn't any different! A Renegade's spin off?! YES PLEASE!! Those characters are EVERYTHING! This novella packed a massive punch. There were so many crazy twists that I never saw coming. Our MMC is unhinged and trauma ridden and the FMC is a perfect match for him, she's everything he needed. Honestly they needed each other & I love that for them. This one has some heavy themes and really is a good one to help heal the soul, it reached into places that have been buried deep.
"And that’s who this man was. What he was. Death. I’d felt it when he kissed me. As warm as it was spine-chilling. I had one foot in the grave and one suspended over his shoulder until he decided to drop me."
Holy freaking moly, what did I just read, but in the best possible way! Cain escapes Briarwood and his plan is to kill Nurse Keller, but when he gets there, his plan changes he ends up saving her.
This book is dark, twisted, and spicy. Sybil describes some parts of the book that had me gagging, she had a way with words that are so descriptive that you feel like you are in the story.
Juliet had a past that was just as dark and twisted. Her and Cain both connect as the story unfolded and they bonded like I didn’t see coming.
This book was short, it as full of obsession, tension, possession, murder, darkness, banter, and desire. I was obsessed from the very beginning. Sybil knows how to write a book that grips you from page one and you are emerged in the story. It’s dark and twisted and it ends way too quickly.
This book made me question my sanity but I have officially decided that I don't mind being completely insane! Sybil warned me TWICE of the many triggers in this book and apparently I have no triggers! Cain is the hottest loony this Christmas and I NEED MORE!! I enjoyed the spice level but wouldn't mind more. I literally couldn't wait for this one but it was SO worth it! The writing was fantastic in my opinion and I just loved it. Sybil knows how to suck you into a story and keep you there and that is exactly what I needed. I recommend you dive right in but do focus when reading the triggers and also just a heads up, if you enjoy Doritos, read with caution🤣
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
SYBILLLLLLL!!!! this was f*cking insane (pun intended). definitely the darkest romance i’ve ever read - and i read a lot of dark romance 🥵. this is SO not for everyone. if you have any triggers, you will likely want to skip. (sybil gives you MULTIPLE chances to abort mission before the book begins). if, however, you have no triggers (like yours truly) - enjoy the unhinged ride, because it is DARK.
serial ☠️ x psych nurse (patient x nurse), captive x captor, stalker, somnophilia, accidental necro (yep), gore, insane asylum, trauma bond - i could go on. 💀 it even taught me a few new things - dollification, what??! 😆
this is a spin-off of the renegades and takes place in the briarwood sanatorium world. enter at your own risk ✨
Dark and twisted but HILARIOUS!!! Sybil Knight had me laughing out loud with this one because the sarcasm was just TOP TIER 😂
Cain is a cold blooded killer. He wants what he wants and takes it without asking. It becomes quite clear his trauma drives him and he is clearly mentally unstable. He is definitely a caretaker MC though... even if he believes he will kill her, he still wants to help her.
Jules becomes a nurse because she wants to care for people but its clear she couldn't do what needed to be done. Her fear that Cain will leave her, and her clear obsession with him because she was so chill about everything that happened has me thinking she has a few screws loose too... 🤔
The mania and depravity had me hooked though! This book was wicked, funny and also so fucked up, you might just question your own sanity 🤷🏾♀️
4.5 Stars ~ I’ll be Seeing You is a Fast paced, dark romance, erotic horror novella that follows on from The Renegade series. ~ I absolutely love how Sybil writes, the darkness, the twists, turns reel me in EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. and this novella was no different. ~ The MCs were incredible, both extremely damaged souls forced together when a plan for murder goes wrong. Caine and Jules’s relationship is beautifully unique and undeniably twisted. One a nurse and one a patient, one a captor and one a prisoner.
If you want a short dark romance book that has you questioning your morals, your kinks and literally everything about your life this is the book for you. I couldn’t put it down because I have no idea what I was feeling to be honest. I was in a whirlwind and I’m still am….. I don’t even know how to write a proper review because I’m so shocked etc…. But I love her writing style and I can’t wait to read more of her books!
I maybe as insane as those inmates in Briarwood Sanatorium 🤣
Cain, has just an amazing sense of humour even when he’s deleting his female victims. He didn’t foresee finding his next victim in her bathtub already doing the job herself. What follows is an exploration of their lives, some twists and a speckling of spice that shall we say would leave you wondering about what you are reading 🤭 Juliet, may or may not be as unhinged as he is but she still has an empathetic and caring view to life, until Cain makes her start to unlearn all she has been told 😬
“𝙸𝚝’𝚜 𝚊 𝚍𝚘𝚕𝚕,” 𝚜𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚕𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚏𝚒𝚎𝚍. “𝙰 𝚜𝟹𝚡 𝚍𝚘𝚕𝚕.”
Read this in one sitting, as it held me hostage with no bl00d shed involved 🤣 Sybil leads us through the hallways of these two perfectly, giving us little insights into their life make up and lest we forget the m^rder, and the way they lean on one another without realising it. Really enjoyed this, I should…shouldn’t I 😈
I'll Be Seeing You is a dark, twisted, depraved novella! Our MMC, Cain, is absolutely unhinged and full of trauma, and our FMC, Jules, is his perfect match of messed up! They both had traumatic childhoods with some heavy topics to read about, so please read the trigger warnings! I loved Cain and Jules relationship and the way it grew throughout the story. There were a few good twists thrown in there and an ending I was not expecting! Can't wait for more!
This is how you write a novella!! I read this in one sitting it was so addictive! I freaking love how authors can put SO MUCH into so few pages, it really requires talent which Sybil clearly has😍😍
I loved this novella, it was my first book by Sybil and now I need EVERYTHING written by her and I need to get back to Briarwood asap!!🔥🔥 Also the humor in this book? amazing, characters? Top tier, who doesn’t love a serial killer with mommy issues🤭😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ INTENSE. FAST. UNHINGED. I devoured this book.
This story grabbed me by the throat from page one and refused to let go. The author did NOT hold back, morally BLACK characters, heavy atmosphere, and moments that made my heart race in the best (and worst) ways. I swear half the time I was holding my breath. The other half I was whispering “oh no… oh YES.”
This book is unhinged, fast-paced, and deliciously dark, and I loved every single minute of it. If you like fiction that crawls under your skin and makes itself at home, this is your next obsession.
Oh wow this was indeed a thrilling dark novella. I was not expecting so many things that occurred in this dark story. Both Cain and nurse Keller are two very broken people but for very different reasons. I was amazed at how things ended up between these two and the steps taken to get to those spicy scenes. Just a work of genius very well written. That bonus epilogue threw me for a loop but yeah definitely got what they deserved.
Omg!! Absolutely devoured this book. It is dark and twisted but perfect in the messed up kind of way lol. If you’re looking for a dark themed Christmas novella then give this a read but please read your tw. Happy reading 🖤
