We read this for our women's group this spring. You need to be ready for the hard work if you tackle this one. Very good.

I have never read anything by Nancy Alcorn so I was pleasantly surprised at how useful and well-written this book was. Backed up by years of compassionate service to others, Nancy offers lots of helpful advice to mainly women who are facing any number of challenges in their life. I gave it 4 stars because of some confusing advice about God's will and things that happen in our lives not being God's will - it wasn't exactly well explained and sounded unbiblical if misunderstood. But I can understand what she was saying. She gives a lot of really helpful truths and Bible references that can really help young women struggling in various areas. Highly recommend.

I think this is an incredible book that encourages you to get vulnerable before God. I did the Bible study companion and filled it up with notes. It has truly transformed my walk with God, helping me to understand who He is and who I am with Him. "Ditching the baggage" is so important because we can truly live out the will and purpose of God on earth! I am so thankful for this book and I couldn't have read this at a better time.

One of my favorite books to share with individuals working to break generational curses.

I like the idea behind this book and the mission houses that if we ditch the old life of pain and disturbance we can then move forward in the power of God and His love for us.
Sadly I am one of the women in her fifties still trying to overcome the pain of my childhood. We do not all get the opportunity to receive the help we need before it has moved on to the next generation. I have paid the price and wish the abuse in my life had been brought to Christ at an earlier age.
This book has given me the news that it is not too late to begin again and I am not alone.
I was given this book by Netgalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary review.

Great book - for someone who is ready. Nancy begins with the premise and invitation of a relationship with Christ. Upon this, all other things stand. If you or someone you know is looking for solid help to begin with new tools and a serious approach to redirecting your life, this is an excellent choice to aid you in your endeavors. May God bless you in your new footsteps on the old paths.
This is what the LORD says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6a

I am conflicted about this book. When it was right, it was dead on. In this way it was very helpful. However there were parts I didn't agree with and strongly disagreed with at that.
