Divine and Dateless by Tara West
Good girls go to heaven. Bad girls go all the way...

What can be worse than electrocuting yourself while getting ready for your internet date? Realizing the hot stud you’ve been fondling is the Grim Reaper? Being chased by a sex-crazed, bloated, naked corpse?

How about an eternity of more bad hair days and horrific dates? Or lusting after the one guy in all the afterlife whose hydrophobia rivals his fear of commitment?

Yeah, that’s a whole lot worse.

It was amusing at times, but honestly I took such strong instant dislike to Ash I had trouble wanting to read about her.

Review by Susan from Wicked Women Book Blog

I was unexpectedly surprised at how wonderful and thought provoking Divine and Dateless was. This lovely story has everything you could want in a book. From laugh out loud laughter, heart breaking tears, anger, stop you in your tracks love and just enough steam to make this one of my top 2014 books.
There is so much in life that every single one of us take for granite and author Tara West takes us on a unique journey of her vision of life, death and a possible out come of the here after.
As an avid reader for more than twenty years I highly recommend this book to everyone. If your looking for that one book that is just different, that can pull every emotion inside of you out, then trust me when I tell you Divine and Dateless by Tara West should be the next book you pick up. Poor Ashley. Nervous about her internet date, she rushes to get ready. She knew she should have just got a new hair dryer, but she didn’t have the time. Her quick hair dryer fix ends up killing her, literally. Now, she’s stuck in the after life with an electrocuted mane of frizzy curly hair and the grim reaper that comes to collect her is smoking hot. What else could go wrong? PLENTY!

Divine and Dateless is laugh out loud funny. Ash is a sassy, smart mouthed, frizzy hard vixen. Who falls for the grim reaper that comes to collect your soul? Ash does, and boy does she fall hard. I’ve never read about anyone who has as bad of luck as she does. She has this knack for getting herself into sticky situations like no one else I’ve ever read about.

To sum up my feelings, this book is amazing. It is one of my favorite new author and story introductions in 2014. I cannot wait to read about Ash’s bad luck and love life in the next book which comes out later in 2014.

Tara West has done it again. This book was great. I really enjoyed Ash and Grim's story. I was hooked from the first page and was left wanting more. Ash cracked me up I loved her take on things, and Grim...what can I say other than I want a grim like him when I go.

If this is what people believe heaven is like, then heaven sure sucks. Who would want to go here? UGH!.

So Ash electrocutes herself and dies. She is taken to Heaven and it's glorious. You have your own personal sex-slave...I do not care if "it" was called a valet, that was a freaking sex-slave. And you can pig out without getting fat.

But oh oh! There was a mistake in accounting and she belongs on the second floor, but gets sent to the 12th cos of the mistake. So if the 12th looks exactly like our world, then the other floors in purgatory must SUCK!!! You have to work, and be nice to everyone so that you get credits and can go into heaven. And the lower you are the more time that will take. Seriously working now, and then working for another 2000 years, no thank you.

And that is what Ash has to do, find a job, find friends, find something to eat that is gluten free. And to buy things, you spend credits, so it will take ages to go to heaven. The afterlife sucks, if you have been a totally normal person then yes the afterlife sucks.

But things are looking up. There is a sexy Grim! And then there was the thing that almost made me cry, sheesh, pms much?!

Still, it was good.

So, this book had a lot of humor in it...Tara writes about normal every day activities that NO ONE ever writes about and, it's hilarious.

Ash...you know, she really has some growing up to do. She's head strong and just...I don't want to say mean but, I can't think of another term...I think as the series goes on, I will learn to love her. It will be interesting to see how she grows and changes.

Love LOVE Grim (Aedan)! He is stunning, wise, helpful, and caring...all the things that Ash really needs to open her eyes to.

I really have loved all the characters introduced in the book especially Ines! I love Delta Squad and am intrigued and excited to see what happens next...specially after what happened with Sarge!

Love the interesting look into the afterlife. Really good first book in the series! Can't wait for more!!! :)

* I received a copy of Divine and Dateless in exchange for an honest review*

Ashley MacLeod (Ash for short) is just getting ready for a date when she finds out that her life is about to get a whole lot more complicated. Death by hairblower/electrocution means you'll be stuck with a bad hair day for a very long time, unless you're headed for the Penthouse, of course. The place where good people go when they die.

Luckily, that's exactly where she's headed, according to the hot, seductive stranger outside her door who claims to be a grim. Never mind she's only worked a measly few hours at a retirement center, God can't be wrong, right? after all, almost her entire dearly departed family, with the exception of her grandpa who's still in purgatory (with conjugal visitation rights), has made it into the penthouse, with all it's sensual and sexual delights. Alas: No sooner has she settled into her life in heaven before the clerical error is discovered and she's dumped back into a purgatory, left to earn enough credits through good deeds to buy her way into heaven again. Leaving Ash heartbroken and Grim with a guilty conscience...

The characters in purgatory are a fun bunch. They're bodies reflect the way they died, which means you'll see bloated corpses, or men walking around with hammers in their heads. Also, it turns out that the Catholics were rights all along, you really do have to pay a fairly large indulgence to make it to the top. People's main goal in death, is to be nice... At any cost. Which means it pays off to do good deeds that earns you credits, more than it pays off being an actual GOOD individual. The credits pay for people's advance through levels 2-13, and eventually, all the way to heaven. The resulting behavior isn't always saintly...

Although Ash, by a stroke of luck finds herself on the highest level, she soon discovers that purgatory in no walk in the park. Her assigned work at a call center was fairly hilarious. As it turns out, not all prayers are that pious. (Dear god, I do believe I would have preferred starting over as a dung beetle) Add to insult, her overseer is an obnoxious ass-man from her past, and I strongly suspect that mr. Hammerhead's head injury has got something to do with the dubious behavior he is still exhibiting;-)

For a long time, I was uncertain whether I should give this book 3 or 4 stars. We got off to a rocky start, mostly because of the fact that there are very few dogs in Tara West's afterlife. Me, being the dog lover that I am, strongly feel that there can be no heaven without animals. (Damn straight. The Rainbow Bridge story still leaves me a sniffling mess.) Luckily for Tara, certain things happen that made me change my mind. But mostly it was the arrival of the ghosting squad that made me decide to round up. The Delta house underdogs, with their motley crew of paranoid (or not?) seers, Sarge (the stud)Boner (yeah, not a random nickname) and Crow, the dangers of ghosting and demons that inhabit the mortal plane, all made my head perk up with interest. This storyline will obviously advance the plot in book #2, and I happen to think it has the potential to become really interesting. Besides, I read the blurb... and it intrigued me. Yeeees, it involves the secret past of mr. Hot n' sexy Grim, which means that I will be along for the ride. Mmm it's time to turn up the heat. In more ways than one...

One thing, though, Tara: please decide if you want to name your character Inez or Inés and stick with the same name throughout the rest of the series. Around the 26% mark we actually get both names on one single page! which makes it fairly obvious even a normally dense reader like me. Thanks! :-)

Actual rating, 3,5 - 3,75. A good start to this fun, lighthearted series.

*** ARC recieved via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review ***

One thing about this book, I requested it via Netgalley without much thinking. I know the name of the author, bought several books from her, but I haven't read them yet (so many books, so many temptations but so little time).
I clicked on it because of the title, I didn't really read all the description, just a couple of words and it was sold. I would definitely read it when it's coming out.

So great surprise because I didn't expect supernatural/paranormal story. Not that I don't like the genre but I found the kind of PRN I like, the one with a lot of humor and well written. This one felt in the category with good deeds. Yep, it was paranormal, yes it was, but it felt grounded. Sound a little aloof right? But the character were in the norm but out of norm since there were in another kind of plane/dimension.
The girl was plain Jane, selfish, self centered, human and good heart.
The man was a bit weird, a bit too well build-up but not such a caveman, you will know!!The shyness and the gentleman got under my skin.
All those things about the characters just gave BIG kudos!
Beside the humor there were 2 things from this story : real emotions/feelings for the lost, the love ones, desires, better life and so on, the goals or the way we live..... and also there was a mystery about the characters and the rules just add it with some kick ass.
The "steamy" scenes were hot but normal, let's say humanly possible in a way. One more reason to feel the book like real without being real but not too much.

I wrote a lot about what I liked and a bit of the description of this book but I haven't got the chance to be a little more descriptive words about the story itself. So it's Ash, a girl, she got into a misadventure and misfortune. Then met hydrophobia guy. That man will lead her to a new kind of life with an amazing adventure. See her grew more in her dimension.

All I have nothing else to say about this amazing and funny book with lovely characters.

So now it's time for me to wait for the second book. Can't wait to discover more about H-E-double hockey sticks and Heaven / floor/ demon / Grim and grims and more....

Thanks a lot for the book!

I think that Divine and Dateless might quite possibly be my most favorite Tara West book EVER and I LOVED her Something More series so much.

Poor Ash, if she just wouldn’t have used super glue.

I cannot even begin to go into what the book is about because I don’t want to give anything away that isn’t in the blurb but I can say this book had me rolling. I was literally laughing out loud, reading parts to my husband, to my kids (when appropriate), to anyone who would listen. If I didn’t share with those around me, I would just look like the crazy woman laughing at her iPad.

I love Ash so hard. She is mouthy, she is freaking hilarious, and she seriously has the worst luck ever it seems (probably because she is mouthy). Plus, she turns out to be absolutely amazing. I want to know how many credits she gets for that last little bit of the book.

I had so much with Grim, Crow, Boner, Sarge, Basil, Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Mikey, Inès, the whole group. Every single one of those characters was written perfectly.

I adored the scenes between Ash and Grim. I want a guy like Grim. Even if he is a reaper. A guy from another time who treats a woman like a lady. Don’t tell my husband that I said that.

All in all, absolutely amazing book! I want to go back and reread it, it was that much fun. It is going in my sidebar of my blog as one of my favorite books of 2014. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series. I totally see this being another best selling series for Tara. It was the best.

Woo Hoo, What a great read! Book 1 in the Eternally Yours series can be read as a standalone book even though there is more to come and certainly more that I want to read about.

After the tragic and somewhat comical passing of Ash we get a whole new perspective on what it really takes to get into heaven and so many more reasons to pay it forward while still amongst the living. I think I am going to smile more and put in a few extra volunteer hours somewhere if only to avoid another shift in a call center.

I am also a huge fan of this cast of characters, even grandpa who in a very disturbing way reminded me of my own father with his stubborn devil may care attitude.

If you are looking for a new series, having a bad frizz hair day, worried about your torpedo tits, or missing someone and wondering what they’re up to; this is a great read that will inspire good deeds, plenty of chuckles and a few rare carefree moments of “you” time.

This was amazing! It is a truly unique story line complete with hilarious laugh out loud moments, a few sexy scenes and some delicious men to drool over! I didn't know what to expect when I started this book and honestly I think that made it all the better, so I shall not spoil any of the fun for you. All I can say is I loved Ash, and Grim. I even enjoyed the many secondary characters Ines, Granny and Uncle, Boner, Crow, and Sarge too! This is a book everyone must put on their to read lists! I cannot wait for the next in the series!

Oh my Lawd... This book had me in stitches with some awesome one liners, that just, well cracked me up...
Ash thought she had it set. yep in Heaven / the Penthouse, not a worry in sight with family and a valet to see to her every need! And I do mean EVERY NEED!! One night was all she got, waking up to find out there was a clerical error and she has be down graded to a lower level of purgatory... In walks Grim ready to help her find her way..

I won't give spoilers but will say that if you haven't read this book yet you better add it to your TBR..

Now I've finished this amazingly funny read it's straight on to book #2 can't wait to see what happens...

A great romantic paranormal comedy for the adult market. If you like Robyn Peterman, you'll like this one.

Fun, farce and feisty.

Melt me sexy love interest, totally realistic, bouncy and disastrous heroine. What's not to love!

Definitely going for the next novel.

DELICIOUSLY CUTE AND DIVINELY ENTERTAINING !!!
Title: Divine and Dateless
Series: Eternally Yours
Author: Tara West
Designation: Book One of Series, Full Length Novel, Can Be Read as Standalone
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: FIVE DIVINELY ENTERTAINING STARS*****
Heaven can't wait and neither can I.... to read more by Tara West! OH MY GLORY! What a divinely entertaining read! Divine and Dateless is the first release in the Eternally Yours Series by Tara West and it totally rocked my world! I loved it! This is my first time reading Tara West but I can say with utmost certainty, it won't be my last! West's unique style, vivid imagination and highly addictive prose hooked me right out of the gate. By the time I hit page three, I knew I'd struck gold with the Eternally Yours Series. I immediately raced back to Amazon to see if there were other books in the series. And JACKPOT - I discovered three more books! And the icing on the cake.... they're all available under the Kindle Unlimited program. SWEET!

But I digress, let's talk about this book. Divine and Dateless is a well crafted, well edited, wonderfully imaginative, fast paced, full-length standalone supernatural tale filled to the brim with spellbinding fantasy, laugh-out-loud humor, outrageously hilarious characters, a wonderfully unique story arc and sweet, heavenly romance. No really - the romance takes place in heaven, or at least the part that doesn't happen in purgatory! What? Oh yes, this is quite the heavenly/hell read! And did I mention the steamy, dreamy sex??? Well, it has that as well! The story is exciting, original and brilliantly imaginative. The dialogue is smart, sassy, uproariously funny, well executed and flows effortlessly. But my favorite element is, without a doubt, the remarkable cast of fascinating, engaging and fabulously funny characters. They literally explode from the pages and capture your heart. The narrative is beautifully written with a first person perspective from our divinely beautiful heroine, paralegal Ashley MacLeod. Well, former paralegal since Ash is now deceased and newest member of the Supernatural Intervention Agency's Delta Squadron. Huh? What the heck? Yup, as a result of an unfortunate blow dryer accident, Ash is now one of the dearly departed and a newbie gifted ghoster in training! But it's a long story and definitely one you want to read, especially the part about Aedan O'Connor, the handsome, hunky Grim Reaper assigned to escort Ash to her brand new heavenly home. You would think if Ash is rewarded with a trip to heaven, then everything will be perfect, right? Wrong! It seems there are screw-ups even inside the Pearly Gates and someone just made a biggie. Oops! Looks like Ash won't be staying in the Penthouse after all and she certainly won't be having the perfect afterlife as her Grim promised. What's a girl to do? Well, she could start by falling in love with her Grim! Oh my! No spoilers from me but I will say this.....Beautiful, snarky heroine-check! Devilishly handsome hero-check! Ghosties, Ghouls, Grims and demons-check! A little delicious danger and drama-check! A boatload of hilarious humor-check! An outrageous cast of delightful characters and a loyal pet dog named Jack-check! Heated attraction, fiery passion, sweet romance and heavenly sex-you bet! That and a whole lot more! Deliciously cute and divinely entertaining!

When rating and reviewing a book, I always ask myself several questions. First, what did I love about this story? Pretty much everything! I adore anything paranormal or supernatural and love stories with comedy and romance but when I find a book that has it all, I'm in heaven! Sorry, I just couldn't resist the pun. Although this book contained 274 pages of ooey-gooey heavenly goodness, it was a quick, easy to follow read. Once I started reading, I simply could not stop. I was glued to my Kindle with the hours passing seemingly as minutes. I loved it! Second, I ask if there was anything I didn't like? And truthfully, not a darn thing! Third, would I recommend this book? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain some exquisitely written sex scenes.....Swoon! Fourth, will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she releases her next book! And finally, was I entertained? Good gracious, yes! Totally and completely entertained! So much so that I purchased it for my permanent library! This is one I want to keep so I can read it again! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

Wow! What a book! This one has been on my TBR list for weeks...and by the time I finally got around to reading it I sort of forgot the details about it...let's just say that it was priceless! I have never read any of Tara West's books before, but I will definitely be digging through and finding time for them soon! Divine and Dateless is a little hard to review without spoilers...so this won't be an uber long post! But I'm going to do my best...

Let's start with the story!

I was flabbergasted by how utterly fantastic and mind blowing this story is! It is thought provoking while still managing to be 100% insanely hilarious! I can honestly say that I laughed so hard that I peed a little during this book! (Hey don't judge me! I've had two kids...sometimes moms have that problem!!) So what made it so dang funny?

Well...check out this little snippet...

description

Yeah...uh huh...read that without at least giggling! That's what I thought!

Okay...so back to the story line! Ashley MacLeod is dead...but she doesn't quite figure that out right away. The Grim Reaper, Aedan O'Conner, that shows up to get her is drop dead gorgeous (hahahahaha pun intended) and Ash thinks that he is her blind date. The rest of the story leads us through the most intriguing and well thought out idea of an afterlife that I have ever read!

Here are the basics:

-The afterlife has an interesting set up: Heaven (The Penthouse) and Hell (The Basement) with levels of purgatory in between.
-You have to earn credits in order to move up levels...this means that even once you are dead...you have to have a job!
-Your credits are also used for food and living expenses.

See, it's simple and yet amazingly creative and unique! That's about as far as I can go into the story line without give anything away...but...I can share another teaser image with you that definitely had my sides hurting!

description

Now let's talk about the characters a bit...

Ash is a woman on a mission...or well she was! She is mouthy, sassy and opinionated and soooo not into community service or volunteer work!

Grim...mmmmm....Grim is sexy as sin and a gentleman to boot! At least he is when he isn't being an jerk.

When these two are around one another sparks fly and attitudes soar! The sexual tension is crazy and just made me want to pull my hair out because they kept pushing one another away. I was amazed by how strong my reactions were to this book! Again there isn't a ton I can say here that wouldn't spoil something for you...and you guys know how much I hate doing that!

Gosh, if I went into the amazing "extra" characters in the book I could be here forever! The way that Tara writes draws me in and makes me feel like I could easily be living in the apartment next door and just watching things unfold through the peep-hole like a peeping tom. (hehe you know you love my descriptions!)

Let me just go ahead and say what needs to be said...

Divine and Dateless by Tara West is laugh out loud funny and still manages to have so many AWE moments that I fell in love! The characters are sweet, deep and believable. (I do believe Ines is just perfect and Boner...wow...yeah you go Boner!) The story is unique, intriguing and captivating. Overall, this book is one that I definitely think you should pick up...just don't do it unless you have the time to sit down from start to finish, I promise you won't want to put this one down!

Coming from a long line of do-gooders, it would seem as no surprise that upon Ash MacLeod's tragic and untimely death, she would earn a one-way ticket to the Penthouse (aka Heaven). Which is where she finds herself after an unfortunate accident involving a hair dryer. Expecting her blind date to be the one knocking at her door, she's fairly surprised to see tall, dark, and gorgeous behind it. Thinking she lucked out in the blind date department, imagine her surprise when she's informed it's not a date after all, but Grim. An angel of death. A reaper. Here to collect Ash and deliver her to the Pearly Gates.

The Penthouse is everything one would expect from Heaven. Ash's formerly fried, electrocuted, frizzy hair is restored to a luster it's never had. Her thighs are perfection, as is the rest of her body. And the best parts? A valet, who transforms into the "owners" dream person and provides unlimited mind-blowing sex. And cheesecake. Unlimited heavenly cheesecake which one can eat without regret. Perfect for Ash, who suffers with Celiac. There is no Celiac disease in Heaven. Unfortunately for Ash, her stay at the Penthouse is short-lived. The Big Guy never makes mistakes, right? Wrong. Turns out, Ash's half-hearted/half-assed attempts at charity work weren't enough to plop her in the Penthouse, more like level 2 of Purgatory. According to Grim, God takes pity on her for his mistake, opting to place Ashley on one of the upper floors of Purgatory where she will hopefully earn enough credits to make it back to the Penthouse in a few decades.

If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be surprising. Tara West really surprised me. When I first started reading, the first few pages/chapters came across as one of those "clean" books -- the ones where there is no foul language, no crude humor. Nothing wrong with a clean book, mind you. I personally just don't appreciate them. Imagine my surprise when some crude humor gets introduced...and keeps on coming. So many parts were seriously laugh-out-loud funny, especially when Ash realizes her tummy troubles not only exist in Purgatory, but they come back with a vengeance. And unfortunately, so do periods. She describes her life on earth as pretty crappy; Purgatory is worse, if that can be believed.

The characters in Divine and Dateless were definitely the highlight, along with the super creative storyline. Ash and Grim were so delightful, so funny, so perfect for one another. Grim is certainly an anomaly; based on his actions and his attitude, he is certainly one that appears at first glance to be a shoo-in for the Penthouse. Not much of his past, if any, is revealed. It's hinted at several times and I can't wait to learn more about his past and what landed him in Purgatory vs the Top Floor. My favorite character award has to go to Jack though. Who wouldn't want to be reunited with a Jack of their own? I know I would :)

I adored this book and I recommend it for readers who like paranormal romance with loads of humor. I can't say enough how funny this book was and how surprised I was by it. Really looking forward to the second book in the series (and hopefully many more to come!).

Divine and Dateless by Tara West

Divine and Dateless by Tara West is about a girl named Ashley who was getting ready for her Internet date but ended up dead on her bathroom floor, electrocuted by her blow dryer. Ashley doesn’t recognize that she is dead yet, so when she hears the knock at her door she thinks it is her Internet date. However, the Grim reaper, Aedan O’Connor is at her door, picking her up to go to take her to the Penthouse (Heaven).

Once she is in the Penthouse, she is greeted by her Grandmother and Uncle Mikey. She is given a valet, who is to attend to her every need and I mean every. The valet takes the form of her fantasy man. The next day Grim tells her there has been a mistake with the number of credits she has so she has to go down one level to Level 13. Later Ashley finds out she was supposed to go to Level 2 but Grim used his credits so she could be on Level 13.

Ashley then gets a job and learns to acclimate herself to her new life. She hits some bumps in the road, but deals with them accordingly.

This book had me cracking up after the first couple of pages. The writing is brilliant. It has some steamy scenes and some adult language but it does not detract from the story. It’s quite the opposite. I think my favorite scene in the book is when Grandma, Uncle Mikey and Ashley go visit Ashley’s Grandfather for the first time. That whole chapter had me crying because I was laughing so hard!

Let’s just say you would be remiss, if you didn’t read this book. It will definitely put a smile on your face for one reason or another. Definite must read!!! Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

And now you're reading through the reviews to see if you should get it or not?
Look no further, I can save you both the time and money by telling you right here and now: Don't. This book so full of shit, and I'm not even talking about the detailed description of Ash's reaction to gluten.

The MC, Ashley is a horrible person. She is ungrateful, self-absorbed and, frankly, a judgmental bitch. She is the the most unlikable and least sympathetic female character I have ever read, and I have read Twilight.

She dies and goes straight to heaven, and after one night gorging on cheesecake (without getting sick) and having wild monkey sex with a Grim lookalike she finds out that she should have started her time in the afterlife Purgatory, not the Penthouse. No shock there.

But, instead of going to Level 2, like she's supposed to, the mistakes made ensures her a spot in Level 12, just a floor below heaven. Is she tankful that she doesn't need to start at the bottom? Of fucking course not.

She's told she ascends by earning credits, but seeing as she's the dumbest person ever this is hard to get into her teeny tiny birdbrain. Despite being told that she gets extra credits for good deeds and pleasant behavior etc she can't bring herself to smile at people, and gets surprised by peoples kindness.
She's so stupid it's exhausting.

I got it as far as 64% before giving up and that was pushing it the last 10-15%

I feel very lucky to be a member of Tara's street team and even luckier to beta read Divine and Dateless. Wow!!! This book is much different than her YA series. Tara has an amazing style of writing and captures her readers attention from very beginning. This book had me laughing so hard all the way through. I think my family thought I was losing my mind at times. Not going to give out too much, but here is a little taste; While getting ready for a blind date with a man she met online, she ends up electrocuting herself, little does she know that this little mishap has just ended her life. Ashley answers the door only to find a man looking much more tasty than his profile picture and does not realize that this is not her date, but a Grim Reaper coming to retrieve her spirit. Want to learn more of Ashley's adventures in her afterlife, be sure to one click Divine and Dateless when it releases in July!!

Tara West nails it with her take on the afterlife. This book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions from beginning to end. You'll find yourself laughing one minute and tearing up the next and you'll absolutely love every single minute of it! This book starts off with the death of the main character Ash and her escort to the pearly gates by the hot as sin Grim who's to die for, literally. The connection between the two is intense from the start and will leave you fanning yourself for sure. Ash goes through a series of unfortunate events that are hilarious and hysterical and leave you wondering if the poor girl will ever catch a break. The characters are relatable and this story is absolutely entertaining and a great time! I would definitely recommend picking this one up!

OMG I loved, loved, loved this book.

It had me laughing so hard I was crying! It is just that good. A book hasn’t made me laugh this much in a very long time!

Tara West does it again. This book sucks you in from word one. There is more than just comedy to this book as well. It will put you on a roller coaster ride you don’t want to get off of. There are emotional highs and lows, laughter and tears, good and evil, oh…and did I forget to mention Hot Sex? Just what every great book needs and Tara filled them 

So let your fingers do the walking and one click the pre-order button and I’ll see you on level 13. Wonder what I’m talking about? Buy it and find out!

This is my first Tara West book and I loved it! Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.
Ashley ends up having an accident while getting ready for a blind date. Not realizing she is actually dead she answers the knock at her door and meets Grim Aka Aedan O'Conner. He tries to explain who he is but she doesn't want to believe it. When they go onto the elevator she realizes that she really is dead and ends up on the top floor of Heaven. However, when there is an error made and she has to be moved down a few floors she will do anything to go back up to luxury.
I really enjoyed this book, it was funny and very well written. I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!

I can honestly say I loved this book! It has just about every emotion you can want in a book! The humor and snarky comments had me laughing a lot! Ashley the main character is just not having a good day let alone afterlife! I still think she is one lucky girl to have a grim like hers! You would be completely crazy to pass this book up!! I wish I could give it 10 stars!! Did I mention the humor? Read the synopsis that should give you a teeny tiny taste of what your in for! I am going to be rereading this book a lot! I really do not wanna wait for the next one!!

Did I read the same book?!? I think I'm the odd woman out when it comes to this book's rating. I wasn't overly invested in the characters or story line.
Con held promise but failed to deliver on the swoon front. He ended up being a two dimensional character to me. I think I needed more depth maybe some background? The protagonist was a constant ball of horny. She came across as shallow to me. In the end they had more baggage then the luggage claim department at an airport hub. The writing was average & nothing to write home about. I give this book a 2.

Ashley electrocutes herself, getting herself sent to The Penthouse in Heaven. Her creditor screwed up and she was sent down to level thirteen.

Con is the sexy Grim that had to collect her from Earth when she died. They form a special bond.

Ashley has her ups and downs, more downs than ups, and gets herself into a bind. What happens next? Read on to find out! I definitely recommend this book! Tara West is brilliant!

This IS part of a series.

I was lucky enough to read this book in advance.

Ashley (Ash)has found herself in purgatory. According to Grim, aka the Grim Reaper, has informed her that her only chance of reaching heaven is by earning points. Ash runs into some funny roadblocks that will have you in tears from laughing. Tara's new series is off with a bang. I can't wait for the next book.
