About the author

After almost 27 years of marriage Sharon's beloved husband Michael passed away in 2014. Together they had a life filled with adventure, laughter and unconditional love. She considers herself blessed to have been loved that way. She has three grown children and a busy cat named Sparky.

Her love for mystery and suspense began in the fifth grade, when she found a whole set of Nancy Drew mysteries with pink covers in the school library. Sharon is the author of five humorous mysteries that were written for Christian readers. Her second book in her Ruby Taylor mystery series was voted book of the year by American Christian Fiction Writers. She has written over thirty books for Love Inspired Suspense many of which have appeared on USA Today Bestseller lists. Night Prey (Love Inspired Suspense) won the Carol Award from American Christian fiction writers.

Sharon has a bachelor's degree in film production and a master's degree in history. She loves old movies like Double Indemnity and anything by Frank Capra or Alfred Hitchcock. One of the better in this series of "love inspired suspense" novels. The plot was exciting. The writing was good. I appreciated less emphasis was placed on what the protagonists look like - usually, the male protagonist is gigantic and has a physique which would make the average bodybuilder blush, and the woman would put most super-models out of business. I also appreciate the strength of both protagonists. Usually, there is super-hunk rescuing gorgeous but hapless female. There was a minor English problem a good editor should have caught - On p. 227 [of my edition], there was the sentence, "What if Dylan was still alive?" It is a subjunctive clause, and should read, "What if Dylan were still alive?" One thing I found funny - though, should the author read this, I promise I am not making fun - my wife and I have commented on, since these novels don't use strong sexual attraction between the couple, the protagonists are VERY often attracted by the perfume of the female and the cologne of the male. Here, the "bad guy" wore cologne which did not have a good smell. It made me laugh, and reminded me of the "White Hats" vs. the "Black Hats" of the cowboys on Saturday Morning TV, when I was a child in the 50s.

OMG!

I can't even imagine having to live through one quarter of the things that our heroine had to much less all of it. She and her son deserve every bit of happiness they can find.

Easy to read and fast moving story about a woman who ten years earlier sees her boyfriend killed by his own father. She runs away and has a child the father does not know exist until a photo show up in the paper of a small town.
A major chase and one mishap after another occurs while a young EMT does all he can to help her. These two have more than one car accident and are chased through the town and surrounding area relentlessly by the father who intends to kill both the heroine and her son. He is evil all the way through. She and her son have always counted on each other and let only a few people into their lives but the EMT lives down the street and likes the son from some small interaction they had and from a distance has wanted to get to know the mom. A good tale.

This is the 1st book I read by Sharon Dunn. I loved ❤ this book's storyline. I loved ❤ the Christian theme in this story. I loved ❤ the action in this story. I loved ❤ Rochelle's character. I loved ❤ Matthew's character. I loved ❤ the ending. Awesome job Ms. Dunn.

How many times can one person be in wrecks, get chased by the bad guy, and tell the hero how much she appreciates his help. Totally got bored with so many repeated events.

I've been reading the Love inspired suspense from Harlequin lately. My sister gave me 2 bags full of them. This one has been my least favorite so far. I think it could have been a higher rated book for me if it all didn't take happen as quickly as it did in the book. The plot was ok-Rochelle witnessed the murder of her child's father and disappeared. Suddenly she is found and all 'bad' things begin to happen. She goes from one thing to another. It was just too many things happening at once; the fire in her home, the accidents my gosh what was there at least 3 she was involved in, etc. Way too much going on in such a short time frame for my liking.

A little OTT for my tastes. The hero and heroine lurched from crisis to crisis and the villain was almost cartoon like. It was like a Bond film, but whilst the films themselves are enjoyable the scripts don't really stand up. Sorry this sounds so harsh but I can't think of a way to soften my opinion.

EMT Matthew Stewart gets involved in more than he expected when he assists Rochelle Miller at an accident. Now he's being chased by men with guns. Good story but they had a chance to do in the bad guys and did not. I'm all for Christian love but when someone is shooting you, you need to protect your own.

While I liked that Rochelle and Matthew take some time to get to know each other (and Rochelle's son Jamie) the whole book felt too heavy on car chases and accidents. We were taken so fast from one event to the next that we didn't have enough time to really get to know the characters.
