”The main reason for finding out what the Bible says is that you might understand, know, believe, and then wholeheartedly follow Jesus. This message was so important that God went ahead and spoke – to “reveal” Himself to mankind (and you!) in His son, the Lord Jesus Christ”
Bible study is so important in discipleship and this colorful, engaging, systematic study for 9-12 year old girls is wonderful tool for small group, mother/daughter time or individual study. Going deep in God’s word, you will think differently and because you think differently start to live differently and grow spiritually. You will know the joy of the Lord. What a great gift to give our young people-the joy of the Lord.
With 10 chapters you will pray, work it out, note and as the word works in your life, you will pass it on.
Chapter 1 - Discovering Treasure - you will discover the treasures of the word.
Chapter 2 Putting First Things First what it means to put the things of God first. With the mother of Jesus as our example, you will see the application in your own life.
Chapter 3 Being A Girl After God’s Heart what it means to follow Jesus in Matthew 4:19-20; reading the word, praying, confessing our sins, and making sacrifices.
Chapter 4 True Beauty what it means to have beauty in the inside in the life of Esther of the Old Testament. With courage comes faithfulness.
Chapter 5 Finding a Role Model what it means for discipleship in the Books of Wisdom . How you can love God and worship him in community. This is where your standards or your bar is raised and will affect the rest of your life. In deciding what you will and will not do before you do it brings confidence and courage to your walk.
Chapter 6 Finding a Role Model Part 2 continues with our relationship with our parent and how they affect our decisions
Chapter 7 Finding a Role Model Part 3 continues with our relationship with mentors and that includes our work ethic and personal well-being.
Chapter 8 Walking by the Spirit what it means love others with the gifts of the fruit of the spirit.
Chapter 9 Walking by the Spirit Part 2 continues with the rest of the gifts.
Chapter 10 Growing More Like Jesus - Jesus should be our focus. I should decrease and He shall increase. How the Old Testament revealed Christ in the New. Why did Jesus come into the World? How Jesus’ sacrifice of His life demands a personal response. Not making a decision is a decision. Our focus should be on Christ and not others which includes other Christians. Jesus is coming again and how that gives us hope.
Each chapter has a personal application, what does the scripture say. (this part is my favorite ), looking at our own life and prayer. Without prayer, all is useless.

In A Girl's Guide to Discovering Her Bible, author Elizabeth George provides moms and small group leaders with the perfect resource for teaching girls to study the Bible and helping them discover the riches of His Word. And it's perfect for girls to read and work through on their own.
I highly recommend this book because it's a great format for a girl on her own, for a mom and daughter to work through together, or for a small group study. George shows girls the importance of Bible study and helps them begin to develop healthy Bible study habits.
One of the best things about this book is that it leads girls, step-by-step through a study of the Proverbs 31 woman, a biblical role model, and other significant passages. In doing so, George helps girls learn to ask questions of the biblical text, investigating what it meant to the original audience and how we can apply those principles today. She leads girls through that application process and teaches them how to pray through the Scriptures they're studying. It's just an amazing resource!
If I had to pick one book to help my daughter learn to study the Bible for herself, this would probably be it. In fact, it's one I plan to buy two copies of and begin working through with my daughter. If I find myself in need of some materials for a girls' small group, this will probably be my first choice. You just can't go wrong with a resource that teaches girls how to study the Bible for themselves--in a way they can understand and replicate on their own.
