This is the room where we hear the voices.

Today Grandma showed us a picture of her new real estate listing on Hawthorne Lane—a house with a room where a painted serpent peers down from a black wall and a handwritten message warns of whispers in the night. But Grandma captured something else in her photo: a cold and frightening specter with hollow, dark sockets for eyes and an aura of evil.

Suddenly, everything’s different. Grandma’s totally freaking out, convinced a dark force is messing with our family. Dad thinks Grandma’s having trouble dealing with my grandpa’s recent death. Mom thinks Grandma’s having a mental breakdown.

And me? I honestly don’t know.

Something is definitely going on. Something terrifying and menacing. Is it due to Grandma’s grief? Or her emotional state?

I loved the book! Stephen King for young adults! I hope this ghost story doesn't give me nightmares.
