A delightful book of bouncing rhyme that should be read at Christmas-time. Mice cavort and have a feast, trying hard not to wake the beast! Everyone will love the sumptuous illustrations of mouth-watering food and the end when the cat finally wakes up and surprises the mice.

*I received this book as a DRC. If you know me, you know that I love buffets. But... I am not a fan of mice. That being said, I am a fan of this book! The masterful illustrations and rhyming make this a smile-inducing holiday tale. One fun thing that the illustrator did was giving the gingerbread man different facial expressions during one of the scenes. I appreciated that, and I would recommend this book.

This book is pretty darn cute! A group of mice discover a Christmas feast, but when a grape goes "boinga boinga" and wakes the cat, the mice must hide amongst all the delights. Who wouldn't love to hide inside a decadent chocolate cake?! And I laughed out loud at the expression on the gingerbread man's face as the mice peek out from behind his shielding, outstretched arms. Terrific fun!
