The Fedosov Family was all business until Julia Thompson came along.
After meeting in a nightclub in America and sharing a passionate kiss, Julia was the last person Demitry Fedosov expected to see in his boardroom back in Russia - especially after she turned down his advances.
Julia never been one to let others push her around. She didn’t need the complication of a relationship with Demitry, now or in the future. After being sent to Russia on an exchange trip, she was his employee and he was her boss. End of story. Yet she can't stop thinking about his deep gray eyes and the way his 6'6" figure dwarfs her. She feels such an attraction to him, but she knows she must fight it.
Demitry is business orientated, reserved, always following in his father’s footsteps and way too serious most of the time. He was not used to having women in his business world unless they were secretaries. Julia has made it clear she doesn't want a relationship with Demitry but he can't hold back the feelings he gets when she is around. She was so different to Russian women, and winning her over is turning out to be more challenging than any business deal.
The American woman pushed all his buttons, and when his brother, Alexey, starts to flirt with her Demitry feels an overwhelming urge to stake his claim.

WTF kind of ending was that? Just ended abruptly and the next book isn't even a continuation of this one? What a waste of the 30 minutes it took to read this. I'm not a fan of cliffhanger books at all and this one, the ending sucked and I actually kept tapping the Kindle to go to the next page, thinking it was a mistake but no, that was it.
Thank God this was a freebie from Amazon, I would have been more pissed if I actually spent money on this WTF ending book.
Oh wow. Look at those incendiary reviews. I HAD to find out this maddening ending for myself and I read the very last chapter only. And...it's so bad. It's not just bad in terms of the cliffhanger, but just this book seemed to not even have been edited. There are dropped words and dropped punctuation and the entire first part of the last chapter was a series of "Character A was happy about this situation. Character B and C were happy about this situation." Very telling instead of showing. Lots of adjectives being used. The last chapter is always what makes or breaks a story, and I would not touch this author in future. Yes, just based on the last chapter of one book because I'm that mean and picky.
WTF JUST HAPPENED!!! So this fucking book not only ends on a CLIFFHANGER but the second book in this series isn't even a follow-up! It's about a the younger brother and his love interest! Are you fucking kidding me with this shit! So we basically don't get to know if Julia and Dmitry even stay together, if Julia moves permanently to Russia or goes back to the states, what about the board, what about David Jenkins? There are so many unanswered questions and the fucking book ends with her sitting on his lap, plotting revenge on Jenkins!!! I fucking hate books like this and I should have known better and listened to all the reviews that said basically the same fucking thing! I'm not even going to get into all the fucking grammatical errors!
Had much potential but was thrown into 100 pages leaving no substance to book. It was doing good in beginning then not much detail shortly after it started. It ends on an obvious note that we are led to come to ourselves not by author. Poorly written story that had five star potential had more time put into book. I'm hoping the author grows as a writer as potential is there she just isn't putting into this series. Disappointed as these guys I liked.
I don't usually post comments but this hit a nerve. I don't like cliff hanging season finales on television and even less in books. The disappointment when I reached the ending over shadowed whatever enjoyment I had while reading the story. Or, to possible explain it all, maybe I didn't receive the chapters after 16 when I downloaded? I don't plan on purchasing any further books by this author.
Between 3.5 and 4 stars. Had a really hard time starting the book but I really enjoyed the last half of the book There were things here and there that I thinking were stereotypical. But you get that with all cultures.
I was shocked by the weird ending, it was right at the best, one of the most anticipated sections of the book when it just abrupt endings forever??!!! ... I'm wondering if it will be finished off in book 2 & 3? That was the main letdown of the whole book ...that being said, for me I can & do this often, I am able to set something aside to see if a book is well worth the read, etc. Most would probably say that was a cliffhanger ending, but then maybe it is not? I did find this book on Amazon for free, so it was not a letdown 'cause it was Free, but I so enjoyed the characters, the plot, the story behind it all, so that is what makes it tough for me to say, that just because of the ending I am sad about it all 'cause it was a great read, it did keep my interest high? When you read the synopsis of the next book (book #2) it does say nothing of it will we be starting at the ending of book 1 ...from what I am reading it appears you will jump to another brother's story or maybe it is just another character??!! ... I am new to Leslie North's books ... could have swore I have read one of her books ... but I don't see any reviewed here ... weird??! What this book taught me ... I so wanna read another one of Leslie's book in the future ... I am hesitate do to the way this one ended though? I think I have like 3 or was it 4 more books of hers in my TBR list that I wanna read ...but we will see. Fun finding new authors. I am the type of reader who can over look and odd ending ... & simply just end it in my mind how I so desire ... I might just get a sampling of book 2 just to see where it heads 1st off before I purchase #2 book. We will see??! ( ;
All I have to say is that, I'm proud of Julia. I have to say I didn't expected that. These kind of stories has a pattern. Julia and Dmitry has a chemistry from the first meeting. And you know where that goes in most of the stories. The girl would fall under his feet at first touch of his and damn her principles, which she lived her whole life. I'm glad to say not this time. Julia stands strong with her believes and not gives in. Which surprises Dmitry and...
"Screw you! Your proposition stinks!..."
... made me pump my fist in the air. Lol. That was great.
But the way the story ended.... Well, it's kinda didn't. It felt like there will be another book about the couple. But the next one is about the brother. Maybe the ending is there. Somewhere. Confused about it.
Not as exciting or attention grabbing as I thought it would be. After reading the other stories by the author I thought this one would be filled with drama and all kinds of nonsense that kept me wanting to read more. This one was just okay, sort of bland but not bad just kind of boring. Hopefully the next one will be better.
More like a 3.5 The book was fast paced, very entertaining, but the writing was somehow horrible. It felt like reading a teenager's diary. Oh and where's the ending ?
This one had a good idea, but I didn't know it wasn't going to finish at the end. It could have used something...not sure what exactly, but I didn't think it flowed all that well.
This was a quick listen, but is full of action and heat. Julia and Dimitry meet at a nightclub and after a passionate kiss separate. Little do each know that Julia is going to work for Dimitry in Russia! Talk about a surprise for them both! Neither want a distraction from their work, but when Dimitry can't get her out of his mind, this alpha male is going to take control! I love these two characters. Julia is naive to relationships, but great at her job. Dimitry is single minded with his business and doesn't have time for a relationship. Together, their banter is fun, and their chemistry strong. But is it enough to start a relationship? Throw in a brother and model best friend, and it's a quick, entertaining listen. The ending is abrupt, leaving me wanting the next two to listen to!
Tanya Stevens took on the difficult task of a Russian accent, and she did well. I did find her voices at times were not easily distinguishable, but as the book went on there is great improvement. I will look forward to her next narration.
Everything is just so proper. Everyone so in control. What happened to passion, spontaneity, etc.
“When they reached a large tree with a bench underneath, Dmitry sat down and then pulled her onto his lap.”
Why is it that in a book where the characters have basically no prior relationship or connection, as in, they haven't spent a minute alone before, they go and do stuff like this?
“Let’s bring him to Russia where he will be under my control and we’ll see then if he wants to continue harassing you.” And that's where it ends.... huh.
Julia earned a trip to Russia by be very good at her job. Before she leaves for her new position Julia goes out to a night club to celebrate. While there she talks to Dmitry and they kiss then she leaves him standing there.
What happens when she arises ex in Russia? When she discovers that Dmitry is her boss? When Dmitry discovers they met before?
I LUVD LUVD dis bk Leslie North. & bcuz of hw much I luvd dis bk, I'm so hookd. I feel like I can't stop reading her bks. TOTALLY OBSESSED. I really wish I can get a hold off the rest of the series. 😍😊
This book ended at 86%. I hate when books and leaving me guessing what's next and the next book is the brother's story. Nope I will not read it d/t the fear of it ending the same way. I hate when authors do that!!!
I just finished reading this book from Leslie North and it was awesome! I love her characters and the story was captivating. It was great from beginning to end! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance story.
This is a workplace romance. I think the things that bothered me the most could probably be cultural differences, but I didn’t appreciate the way Dmitry thought about women. The story was okay, but not great.
This is the first book in the Fedosov Family series by Leslie North. I've had this book in my library since 2014 and I should've left it there but I'm trying to read a few old books every week. It wasn't horrible but there are a lot of grammar mistakes that were annoying and it takes until 64% into the book before they get together. Also it just ended with nothing resolved and I'm aware there's a second book but that's about Alexey and Desiree.
Another great series by Leslie North. You can feel the chemistry from the main characters jumping off the page, can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Julia is attracted to a man who takes his work seriously. She also works for Dimitri feels the attraction also and displays jealousy when his brother is near Julia.
