Dark Dynasties #2

Made for Sinners

Rate this book
He forced her into his world. Now she’s threatening to tear it apart.

Dante Conti always gets what he wants. With $20 million missing from his family’s empire and betrayal threatening to tear his legacy apart, he’ll stop at nothing to uncover the truth. His solution? Forcing Emilia Ricci, the sharp-tongued woman who’s been a thorn in his side—and a temptation he can’t ignore—into marriage.

Emilia may be trapped in Dante’s world, but she refuses to be a pawn. She fights his control at every turn, her defiance as fiery as the attraction she can’t seem to shake. No matter how much she tries to resist him, there’s no denying the way his touch sets her blood on fire—or the way his gaze makes her forget she’s supposed to hate him.

But secrets run deep in Dante’s world, and Emilia quickly realizes that not everything is as it seems. Lies and betrayals are circling them both, and the closer they get to the truth, the more dangerous their connection becomes. With enemies closing in, they’ll have to decide if the fire between them is strong enough to survive—or if it will destroy them both.

Made for Sinners is the explosive conclusion to Dante and Emilia’s story—a dark mafia romance filled with betrayal, seduction, and a love powerful enough to bring even the most dangerous to their knees.

Wow, what a book! I really enjoyed how well the plot line carried over from the first book to this one. Dante is even more unhinged in this book than the last and Emilia’s sass is immaculate. When I tell you I was giggling through her shopping spree and getting emotional when Dante would get romantic. Elle Kay did a fantastic job at creating a world you can fully immerse yourself in, at times there were some editing issues that crumbled the walls a little but it was very easy to get right back into the story. I think the plot was beautifully closed with this book of the duet, no strings really left at the end. I really liked the little glimpse of Rafe right at the end too… can’t wait for his story!

This is Book 2 in the Dark Dynasties The Conti Collection. It's a dark mafia romance, and it served!
Dante and Emilia are tension personified.
He is every bit the Mafia Don, strong, powerful, stubborn, and stern. She is fierce, confident, sarcastic, equally stubborn, and not afraid.
This story of hate and love, betrayal and loyalty, is both enticing and captivating.
Nothing hits quite like the Mafia head melting for the woman he loves 🫠🤍

4 stars ⭐️ WAYYY better than the 1st book, definitely +++ more actions

I honestly would have given this a higher rating IFFFF they just communicated properly even from the beginning 😭

Dante— this man!!!!! he’s just so unhinged that it makes me laugh. i love me a handsome mafia man that’s EXTREMELY OVER-THE-TOP RICH! 😂 but i do want to point out that i have mix feelings about him because some parts made me confused. i just wanted him to talk to Emilia properly and actually give her the benefit of the doubt (iykyk). there were times i highlighted some of his lines and noted “stupid” 🥲 not mg fav mmc ever but he’s alright. there were good traits abt him so i’m okay about him

Emilia— so funny for so many reasons, but one was her just trying to provoke Dante by spending on the most random things (the starbucks mugs collection had me cackling) but still Dante doesn’t care about his money that she spends 😂

i do want to say that i love their duo, they’re meant for each other. i just really hoped they communicated wayyy more

plot was alright. there was action, tension, everything i need to escape reality, honestly. so idk if my rating is as reliable. i just know that i had a good time reading the first 2 books fo the series.

Can’t wait for Rafe’s book tho!

And the craziness continues! Made for Sinners was absolutely amazing! Seeing Amelia and Dante unravel the mystery’s of the past was a wild ride! Not to mention the growth of them as a couple was beautifully written. I just love a man who would do anything to protect what is his! I won’t lie Amelia girl you had me STRESSED by the end of this one. But I absolutely loved it! Didn’t want to put this one down! I would definitely recommend!!

I read book one and have just completed book two.
I have rated this a two star and here’s why.

- Too often the outfits would change in a scene, how we go from leggings and a man’s shirt to a dress without mention of changing clothes during a single scenes description I am not clear. This should’ve been caught during the editing process.
- The scenes and narration changes are not separated nor marked, this is confusing and tracks poorly for readers.
- The mafia aspect of the story is touched upon more accurately in this book however it did feel rushed as it was mainly tossed in towards the end of the novel.
- Spelling and punctuation errors are easily spotted within the text.
- There was scenes that seem to bleed into one another but aren’t actually related.
- There’s key content that gets somehow forgotten by the main characters. Specifically the house they were renovating, it was portrayed as a big deal then suddenly forgotten as if it was irrelevant.
- The time line isn’t clear and was confusing to try to follow. At the end emelia claims that they’d changed a lot as a couple from the years together but the story was laid out as if it expanded over at max a year and a half. No time markers were provided to add context to readers following the story to clarify.

Overall this story was better edited and portrayed than book one. Like book one it is interesting, has a great core but needs some context, consistency, formatting and editing to have this book reach its full potential.

Sinners

“Made For Sinners” is book 2 in the “Dark Dynasties-The Conti Collection” series by Elle Kay. This is a dark mafia romance and a plot heavy story that encompasses forbidden love and angsty spice. In the first book, “Made for Saints”, there was slow-burn sizzling heat lurking just below the surface and now it’s been unleashed OUT LOUD! The flow of the storyline is exceptionally executed and Dante and Emilia are revealed through wonderful use of description.

Dante Conti is a Mafia Don and Emilia Ricci is the mafia princess whose impetuous curiosity drew him to her, only shortly before finding him at her family’s dinner table, at the invitation of her father. There was business to discuss, in which Emilia was not privy to the details. After all, darkness should not touch a princess. Dante knows he needs to keep his distance; however, Emilia is his temptation. He feels a need to protect her from anything or anyone who could bring her harm, including himself. She is a distraction and in his line of work, that gets you killed.

When Dante is informed that twenty million dollars has “vanished into thin air” he is determined to not only find the money, but to find out who stole from him. In his world, loyalty and honesty are everything and this screams betrayal. After reaching out for help from the last person he wants to deal with, he receives the information he seeks. However, it’s the name he’s given that nearly pushes him over the precipice. He’s now been betrayed twice and that leaves him seething.

What happens when you’re told that the person you know isn’t who you thought they were? What if you’ve been trusting the wrong person all along?

This book weaves love and hate with trust and betrayal effortlessly. It does not disappoint!

This is a 5⭐️ must read and includes an HEA!

I received Made for Saints via a Goodreads giveaway, fell in love, and had to have the conclusion to Dante & Emilia's story. I do wish that between both novels, there were some more background on why the Conti family is collaborating with the Riccis, including .

I wish I could rate this higher, but in it's current state I feel that it needs better editing for several areas that were repetitive or inconsistent. There were two instances where Emilia's outfit was mentioned and in a subsequent chapter (in the same scene or scenario) she's described as wearing something totally different, which was a bit jarring. There were also several places in the first half of the book that had seemingly two different drafts of a given scene that were both somehow included. One example that I recall was Dante concluding a phone call and then halfway down the page, he's concluding the same phone call.

Overall, I enjoyed the journey and can't wait for Rafe and Luca's stories!

I could have given this book a much higher rating if it had simply gone through a stronger editing process. Unfortunately, the abundance of grammatical and punctuation errors made it hard to stay immersed in the story.

The biggest issue was how often it switched character POVs without any markers or breaks—it left me confused and sometimes unsure who was speaking. Several paragraphs were repeated almost word-for-word on the same page, which felt like an oversight. On top of that, there were continuity problems: characters’ outfits would change mid-scene, or they’d start in one room and suddenly be in another with no explanation of how they got there.

The core idea of the story had potential, but the lack of attention to detail pulled me out of it again and again. With tighter editing and better continuity, this could have been a fantastic read.

For the first 20 percent or so I wanted to throw serious hands with Dante - especially after he manhandled our girl at the end of Made for Saints. THEN when Emilia pulled a Bella Swan depressive episode I wanted to shake HER. As much as I get how she got there, and like the feelings - girl. you are too badass for that!

It started to really pick up and the middle of the story had a lot of that same banter I loved from book one. I honestly feel like I liked Dante WAY more in this book and that Emilia was fine, but Dante really got to shine through. Still a lot of AH moments that you don't see coming necessarily, and some great spice! A really great addition to the series and a great way to move their story forward. Would recommend!

SUPER belated poating for my review. i finished this book months ago.... My apologies to the book community.

This was hands down one of my favorite mafia plots.

Book one and book two are a swirling vortex of tension, sizzling heat, and a simmering greater plot full of intrigue and suspense. Both the plot and the character chemistry are off the charts and I was BESIDE myself after finishing book one to see how this was all going to unfold.

I had so many unanswered questions living in my mind rent-free. Made for Sinners was beyond satisfying; I was satiated both in plot and explosive heat if you feel me.

Elle Kay knows what's freaking good and I am locked and loaded to follow this collection to the end of the earth and back.

Book 2 is finally here and I went through every emotion as I read Made For Sinners. The push and pull between Dante and Emilia had me grinning. I was annoyed with Dante's plan and the main plotline but Emilia remained as feisty as she was in the first book; she was determined to get revenge where she could. We love a petty queen! The tension between the characters is so good.

The mystery kept me hooked as I kept trying to think of possible culprits and I was shook at how well Elle Kay weaved love and hate, and learning to trust after betrayal into the story. Add this book to your Kindle asap

*Thanks to Elle Kay for the ARC!

My first mafia romance—and now I get the hype. Emilia was such a fierce FMC from the jump, and pairing her with Dante (equally stubborn, equally intense) made for a love story I couldn’t look away from. The trials they faced, the way it all came together in the end—I was hooked. I loved every second of this one.

This sequel delivers both emotional growth and continued charm. The character dynamics grow with more complexity and vulnerability layered in. While the playful tone and rebellious edge remain, this story digs deeper into uncomfortable truths and relationship cracks filled with danger and heartbreak. But through it all, the ending is satisfying.

I honestly regret not DNFing. As the book goes on, the story manages to get worse. It also seems like halfway through the author stops editing, both the formatting of the book and the story get even more inconsistent. Emilia had potential but turned out to be such a useless character.
