I'll be honest: Though I've played various Pokémon RPGs since 1999, I never caught them all; with few people to trade with, and even less that had the other version, not to mention that the one time I did trade with someone, it went horribly awry, I was definitely not a Master Trainer.
Still, I appreciate the concept of the games, and the other parts of the franchise, such as the anime and the manga. This sixth volume was very fun and well-drawn; I need to seek out the remaining ones from the library.
Black is trying to protect the dark stone with the gym leaders from Team Plasma. However all of the gym leaders are captured and Black is tricked into revealing the location of the dark stone. With the dark stone in Team Plasma's possession N uses it to turn the stone back into Zekrom. Meanwhile the light stone makes it's way to Black. Some of Black's past is revealed and how his dream of how he always wanted to be a pokemon trainer (and how he met Munna).
Overall this was a tension building volume with the dark and light stones at the center. The battle between the two legendary pokemon is not too far off in the future. A great volume that keeps the adrenaline pumping throughout.
I received this advanced copy from Viz Media through Edelweiss in exchange for my honest review.
I enjoyed this one. We got to learn a bit more about Black and how he grew up. I loved seeing Bianca finally realize her dream, even if in the process she completely confused White. I found that whole scenario hilarious. We also got to meet Meloetta, a gorgeous pokemon, and a wonderful singer. With the failure at the beginning of the story, Black's training has intensified over a small period. I'm sure he'll be up to any challenge that comes his way.
This volume contains a nice side quest with White and Bianca. Which is good because I miss Black and White being together and this way we get to see a little bit more about how White is doing. Plus we Meloetta makes an interesting appearance being bullied by…Vullaby? Oh and White gets a Pokédex! It’s all coming together now.
Estoy muy enganchado con la trama principal pero me gustaría que White se integrara mas en ella. Me cae mejor que Black como personaje pero siento que la estan dejando a un costado la mayor parte del tiempo en cuanto a lo principal de la saga.
It is still odd how this can have totally serious stuff like gods, mortal danger and tough training but also has stuff like a biker gang just being there as a convenient part of the pre-planned training for Black." Also, this is starting to meander around to be honest, as if the plotline is loosing focus or the author needs filler to get to a number of volumes. Especially the story with them as 5 year olds (not that they act like 5 year olds) was pretty pointless in my mind. I lost interest.
3.4/5. I liked this volume overall; it was really action packed, but I just didn't like the use of flashback in this one. It would have been used better in the earlier volumes to give Black background, rather than interrupting the main storyline here.
