He loves me, he loves me not…Alexis leaves a Valentine’s Day surprise for her crush. Does he like her back?
Despite objections from her Cupcake Club pals, Alexis makes a special valentine cupcake for her crush, Emma’s older brother Matt, and leaves it for him next to his computer. Alexis is secretly hoping Matt will get the hint and give her a valentine, too. But ever since Alexis left the cupcake, Matt’s been acting really uncomfortable around her. Does Matt want to be her valentine or doesn’t he?
With no certain valentine in sight, Alexis ends up leaving a surprise valentine’s gift on Emma’s desk, because, after all, crushes may come and go, but BFFs are forever!
Coco Simon always dreamed of opening a cupcake bakery, but she’s afraid she would eat all the profits. When she’s not daydreaming about cupcakes, Coco edits children’s books and has written close to 100 books for children, tweens, and young adults, which is a lot less than the number of cupcakes she’s eaten. Cupcake Diaries is the first time Coco has mixed her love of cupcakes with writing.
Alexis has a crush on Matt, Emma's brother. She gives him a cupcake asa valentine. Matt dosen't act as he saw or ate the supcake. He even looks a little uncomfortable in front of Alexis. Did Matt really eat the cupcake or was the cupcake not good? I liked this book because the ending or the solving of the mystery is funny. I would recommend this book to people that like cupcakes or have humor.
Wow. This book was so good! It wasn't too obvious, but left hints. It wrapped everything up nicely, with a beautiful ribbon. (If you read the book, you'll see what I mean.) It was cute and charming and I loved that it brought Dylan in. Alexis has really individual, unique books, and this was by far my favorite of them. Great characters, great plot, great message. A must read!
This book wasn't as good as the previous ones, the Matt/Alexis storyline is very stale now. It's not a bad book, but one could easily not read this one in the series and be fine.
I really liked this book! Valentine's day is coming up and Alexis wants to do something special for her crush which is also her best friend's brother, Matt. She makes him a cupcake and he starts acting all strange around her and doesn't even say thank you. Alexis is very hurt and thinks she'll never have a boyfriend. But her close friends, sister and parents say that she doesn't need one because she has them. Alexis feels better and thinks if Matt doesn't like her in that way then that's fine. At a V-Day party Alexis realizes Jake ate the cupcake so Matt never saw it and Matt got Alexis candy but Jake also ate that. So it turned out Matt really did like Alexis. I recommend this book for ages 8+. I probably won't reread this book because of so many other books in my TBR pile.
For most of the Cupcake Diaries series, I've been totally understanding of Alexis and Matt's relationship. But at this point, I was getting really fed up of the way Coco Simon was drawing it out. Like, does Alexis really not have anything else going on in her life? Does her world revolve solely around her crush?
Clearly it does.
I spent most of the book feeling frustrated about how stupid they were both being - you obviously both like each other, so just make up and get together already!! I disliked the ending, but I thought the start was written very well so this hasn't dropped down to 2 stars.
This book main character was Alexis. She had a crush on her best friend brother Matt. It was nearly Valentine's day therefore Alexis wanted to give something to Matt as a valentine's day present. So what she did was she baked him a cupcake with lots of hearts decorations on it. Since she did the baking in her best friend Emma's house so she directly put the cupcake in Matt's room. Unfortunately Matt didn't recieve the cupcake, someoneelse did. Who is that somebody and why did he or she do so?
This book contains a lot of romance and at the same time a lot of humors and i laughed quite a lot of time. I hope everyone will be interested in this book.

I had to keep reminding myself that these characters are children so I can't judge them for acting the way they do around the subject of boys i.e. CHANGE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOUR APPEARANCE EVEN THOUGH HE DEFINITELY WON'T NOTICE
“I know I am the no-nonsense type, but I am also kind of a sucker for all that romance stuff” - “I couldn’t help realizing he’d bought it for me at full price.”
- “‘Feeling embarrassed is really a waste of time.’” - “‘...you are way, way above normal…And don’t you ever let anyone else tell you otherwise.’” - This story is: A Huge Misunderstanding. It was a little weird how Alexis kept referring to Matt as “the crush of [her] life.” She makes him a special cupcake, and he gets her some little gift, but neither of them receive it because of Jake’s interference, and insert Huge Misunderstanding. She’s so caught up with this that she doesn’t get Valentines for her friends. Per Mia’s suggestion, she gets some stuff at bargain prices after Valentine’s day, lmao. Other side plots include Alexis not wanting to go skating because she doesn’t know how and will be embarrassed in front of Matt, a girl power speech from her mom, and Chinese-themed cupcakes. As a Chinese person, I was like…wow, look at this cultural appropriation -_-. LOL. If they’re for Chinese New Year, they should’ve definitely made something red, or included the zodiac animal instead of some pandas lol.
This book is filled with valentines day drama with valentines and even a CRUSH. When Alexis finally gets the guts to give her crush a valentine some drama starts stirring up causing misunderstandings, friend trouble and headaches!
