Sean Costello survived his first taste of power, but the game has just begun. He's inherited his father's casino, his enemies, and a legacy far darker than he ever imagined. Now, with the Vegas underworld circling and a mountain of debt hanging over his head, Sean must decide what kind of kingpin he's going to be. But as he's drawn deeper into a web of deceit, betrayal, and illicit desire, one wrong move could cost him everything.

Much of the goodwill I held toward the first book was squndered here by a return to the less appealing tropes of the author. Way to much sex and flirting in this one for the amount of story progession, and the MC is for lack of a better word, a slut.
I know he's 18 and easily swayed by the fair sex, but there is only so much under-developed pre-frontal cortex behaviour I can take in a book. He begins to get something resembling a clue about what's going on around him by the end of this one, but whether or not I bother with book 3 will depend on the sort of day I'm having when it crosses my feed.
Book 2 continues the adventures of 18-year-old Sean Costello, who has just inherited a Las Vegas casino, his mother Beatrice, stepmother Lilian, half sister Ash, advisor Benny, and live-in maid Dolly. He discovers the Casino is surprisingly short of cash and needs to get a significant cash flow in a week. He is even more confused by not knowing whom to trust, forbidden longings, dark cravings, and illicit urges. There is a surfeit of action and violence, including from a tiger and a crazed paramilitary soldier. To be continued....
Anya Merchant (AM) is a very accomplished story teller and her books are far from boring. As always I would like more sex and somehow nudity wrapped into the story. If not nudity then transparent most contemporary fashion clothing included in the story. It seems as though nudity is gratuitous but enjoyable and adds a lush ambience to the story. That would be a challenge to incorporate into future reads. Thanks for the good work!
I definitely enjoyed Household Inheritance. The storyline was excellent. It kept me turning page after page with the expectation of what was going to happen next. I recommend this book for everyone.
