This book took me a while to get into, probably because the storyline seemed so ludicrous. It was original though, if not believable. So, Ms. Angelini should get credit for her creativity and originality for not repackaging an overused storyline.
My impression for the first 1/3 - 1/2 of the book was that "Master", aka Sevastian, was just a sadistic psycho who was getting his sick kicks by victimizing Diane, justifying his actions by saying that he wanted to save her from herself. In fact, I'm still not entirely sure that isn't true. Honestly, his actions seemed more likely to increase suicidal ideation for most of the book. After all, who wouldn't contemplate ending their life when faced with continued torture at his hands.
Lucky, for Sevastian, Diane is quite the match for him. The pain and torment he doles out, becomes her escape. She is feisty and feels conflicted about her attraction to Sevastian, which grows stronger every day. In no time, she decides that her Master might be a man that is far more than the sadistic monster she originally thought he was.
It took a while, but eventually, the story picked up and grabbed my attention. Sevastian has a dark side and has a sexual appetite for blood play, along with other physical torments and bondage. The sex scenes were intense and of the "that's going to leave a mark" variety.
If you can overlook a few typos and grammatical errors, and don't shy away from blood or bruises, you may want to give this story a try. If things like dubious consent, abuse, blood play and BDSM elements turn you off, look elsewhere. This is a dark romance and the author delivers.

4* STARS!!
This book has a good amount of MIND FUCK and I liked it. I always read (almost)every books from Alaska Angelini. This one is definitely of my DARK list. I'm craving for dark erotic romance and Unbearable is one of them. Diane is a tormented soul because the lost of her love; husband and daughter. She wanted to die really bad but he was 'saved' by someone called the Master. His method is absolutely dark and beyond normal. It doesn't matter what he will do, but it always get me bothered (in good way). The Master has very dark secret. Diane will be the one who change him in times.
Unbearable was beautifully written with twisted mind. The slow pace is reasonable for building the relationship between Diane and Master. They carried monster on their back which is something doesn't recover easily. Their chemistry is undeniable. I couldn't deny the sex made me feels HOT and needy. It needs a lot of courage to read *cough*. The only flaw is, I was confused with Master's method and his private personality. In the end, everyone deserve a HEA and so are they.

I just finished Unbearable and I just freaking loved it. Miss Alaska you had me at Master!!!
Diane has lost the most important thing in her life. Her husband and daughter, killed by a drunk driver. She just cannot go on without them. She tries and is unsuccessful in taking her life. She ends up being in a hospital and for her to be let free she plays the system but then has to agree to see a man that calls himself Master and he is known to help people successfully end their life. What she doesn't know is that the Master will put her through hell and back to get her to final see her worth and that it is ok to move on. He sees something in everyone that he tries to save, he just has to get them there to try no matter the means to do it. Once they are together, trust me the magic happens. Its dark and twisted, they way that it should be. But the one question remains. Will he be able to save her? That you will have to read and find out :)
Let me ask you this, just to see if we are on the same page. How would you feel if life had handed you the worse possible case scenario? Most people would try to get through life believing that things happen for a reason and they would try to bear it and move on. But other people try to end their life because it had become unbearable. Which category would you fall in?
That is what I love most about this story. It drew me in and I couldn't help but put myself in Diane's shoes. So heartbreaking for what she had endured, I know what I would have done but that is what makes this story amazing. Its making decisions outside of the norm and regardless of what you would decide, this story had the power to either make me or break me. I can tell you that it did both.
Im just amazed by Diane's strength and vulnerability. She needed to be broken down to see if she could be lifted back up. Master tried to this for her. She had a lot of stubbornness towards him and hated him.
"With each step towards me, the light distorted leaving him approaching in a contorted, unnatural movements. Monster, yes what he reminded me of here. Like a demon with his black eyes and evil smile"
She could also relate to him in a way, she just didn't expect or want to fall for her Master.
"Maybe I longed to be able to redeem such a viscous man. One who did things to me that I enjoyed, yet feared. I wasn't ignorant to the fact that some people werent' salvageable, but I longed to see a different side of the one before me. If he had both good and bad perhaps..fu#k, I had to be looking for a way to justify what I was feeling"
Master....what can I say about him. He is 100 percent asshole but he has good intentions. I can honestly say that he enigma and I can understand why Diane was so drown to him. He really does put the Dom in Dominance but he has had heartbreak too and you cannot help but want him to heal as well. He just wants to save his slaves, especially her.
"The information may have been provided, but she truly doesn't have a clue. To convince her to want life, I will let her glimpse death. The slow painful process of facing her fears and becoming stronger for it. I expect her to fight more than the others. I want her to...."
He didn't intend to fall for his slave either. Being in close proximities where teaching becomes reality. Man, he just got me.
"Im about to make this the best fu#king night of your life, slave. God, you are going to give me what I want and with it, I'm going to gift you with something all subs long for"
Them two together by far is one of the best hero/heroines I have ever read. Its in both of their point of views so reading it you get a feel for everything that they do and no matter the actions that they take, you cannot help but love them regardless. They had so much depth and so much sexual tension that it really just scorched the pages. It really is like a moth to flame, just inevitable.
I cannot imagine reading anything better than this. It really has put this for me at a higher standard because of the characters, the storyline, the originality, the writing style. Im just hooked to anything that Alaska does, I can say this for sure...Anything that she puts out, is dark, twisted, and captivating. You will not get anything less.

“Believe it or not, you look gorgeous in this element. Scared. Crying. Begging me with your eyes to save you. Do you see the irony, slave?” He lowered, kissing the tape across my mouth. “The Master you fear is the savior you seek. I’m not sure which one I want to be.”
Diane had difficulty to accept the loss of her husband and daughter and tries several times to kill herself so she could be with them again. I could not understand that being kidnapped, beaten, raped, choked, carved up, water-boarded and forced into submission would be the way to get you out of your depression and get over the pain of losing the most important people in your life.
I can’t, for the life of me, understand how a woman, who is suicidal, and is made to endure all of the above will be healed. It is clear that she is not acquaintance with the BDSM lifestyle so to have her plunge into the most harsh and aggressive form without any easing into it is quite unbelievable.
“Do you like to be cut, slave? I’d like to paint your body with your blood.”
Never knew that releasing your inner sub is the infallible way to solve all your emotional shortcomings. That making someone kneel, without their consent, and demand they call you master (and if not you will be beaten within an inch of your life until you do) will be the cure.

I really missed the safe, sane and consensual part. She was not given a safe word, just had to accept what he doled out like even cutting her hair! That was the deal breaker for me. I already did not like “Master” but the hair cutting, because he was mad?? Yeah, pure arseholery!
What healed her was Sevastian’s love for her and hers for him, making her able to let go of her diseased family. But does this love that filled the emotional void in her life is really that? Or is this a case of typical Stockholm Syndrome?
The theme of “healing emotional scarred people” reminded me a bit of Pepper Winter’s Tears of Tess, that I think got away with the theme because the people Q took in were badly in need of his help. While Q really help to heal them I think that was not achieved in this book. IMO, disturbingly depressed people try to commit suicide because they are utterly heartbroken. So to make them feel that they are worthy of life through a non-consensual captivity and being beaten and rape was truly and utterly bullshit.
It felt more like a way to supply “Master” with a constant flow of new slaves, for him to abuse, beat and rape because it looks like he dominates them for his own pleasure. Just to fulfil his sadistic needs without any regards for the recipient.
And then I really started to wonder about all the others before her, what happened with them?
The book is a 1 star read for me but I'm giving it 2 stars because of the scorching hot sex scenes, a strong and very realistic plot and AA's writing was perfection.
Since book 1 was a letdown for me, I’ll not be reading book 2

Great quick read, solid story line, if you enjoy dub-con, BDSM or D/s pick this one up the tension is delicious.

I think I'd happily read Alaska Angelini's 'To Do' list.
All of Alaska Angelini's books are page- turners but this story is far and away her greatest work to date. Dark, twisted and at times heart breaking, this tale grabs you from the first line and will not let you go.

This is a very sad emotional read, not quite as dark as some of the reads by Alaska but still delves into the fragile state of ones mental health and how two individuals plan and chose to deal with their heartbreak. One thinks she is choosing the easy way out, she will just kill herself to be with her lost loved ones. The other thinks he will save himself by saving others. Another very well written and edited novel by Alaska. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Following the loss of her husband and daughter, Diane can only see one path for her life...death.
Every day she breathes she reminds herself that soon she will join her family and her pain will be over. Following a failed attempt at her life, she is whisked away by a mysterious stranger and brought to a mansion to an even more mysterious Master. Master is said to help the lost end their lives...but little does Diane know Master's true intent is more sinister: to make them fear and hurt more that they beg for their lives instead.
She's dark and destructive. The pain is something she's beginning to rely on. I'd wanted her for my own and perhaps she has been reborn into the masochist to my sadist.
First, I absolutely give the premise of this book 5 stars! I have not heard of a twist in dark erotica like this one... and it is brilliant. Something new, something unique and the synopsis had me hooked that I must read this.
Please note: I DO NOT recommend this book to anyone sensitive to triggers of self injury or suicide.
Master's techniques were at times violently brutal and also psychologically intense. He makes his slave face her deepest fears and stretches her will as far as it will go. Some of the scenes I couldn't help but think "how did the author come up with this?!" The author's style and creativity in dark and disturbing scenes is stunning. Again-something unique in dark erotica. There was one scene described with heavy metal music and a strobe light in a dungeon- I almost felt claustrophobic and panicky myself imagining the scene in my head.
Although I loved the atmospheric tone and premise, I think I missed something. I didn't feel Diane's and Master's chemistry. I never got a sense of "who" they were. The characters didn't make me "feel" which is huge for me when reading. I just feel like Master's cruelty and sadism was too much for his slave to bond with him- he almost showed her no TLC. And he would punish her for her "childish tantrums" but he threw the biggest tantrums of all. Even visually I never got a clear picture of what they would look like- they were two amoebas in my mind. It's got to have been me.
Overall, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to those looking for something unique in dark reads and those who only want a little romance mixed with S&M.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
So, where to begin...I mean, I'm just speechless. Alaska blew me away with Unbearable. As far as her dark books go, this is by far my favorite and her darkest yet. Alaska didn't hold back with this book and played on my emotions like she owned them! I was one big mess from the very beginning until the end! But this is a good thing because my attention never wavered and I felt every single emotion the characters did. I'm just wore out emotionally but would read it again in a heartbeat.
Just a warning that this book does go to the extreme on things that might be triggers for people, such as Suicide, bloodplay,Dubious Consent, etc.
I don't know how she could honestly write this story and just come out in one piece. At times, I was just like, Alaska...you're killing me here and how does your mind work to come up with this stuff. Seriously, where does this come from?? I mean, My heart was just so broken for Diane and what she's been through. Right off the start we get to see how hard it is for her and I can totally understand why she does the things she does. I can honestly say that in her position, I can justify her decisions. I mean, I didn't want her to do those things because there is more to life than how she feels, but I understand.
Then you have Master, who is broken too but is taking his past and using it on others for reasons that I don't want to say to keep this spoiler free. He doesn't take any crap and does punish when need be and boy does he punish. With Diane being so broken he has to take a different route, but then you have the immediate attraction between the two and it makes for one hot read, I'm still fanning myself :) Master was unlike her other Male leads to me because he was more sadistic and cruel at times yet he has his reasons even if I was hurt by what he was doing to her.
All I can say is this review doesn't even come close to how I feel or why you should read this book. Alaska's writing just keeps getting better and better and this is a must read for dark lovers.

With Diane being so broken he has to take a different route, but then you have the immediate attraction between the two and it makes for one hot read, I'm still fanning myself :) Master was unlike her other Male leads to me because he was more sadistic and cruel at times yet he has his reasons even if I was hurt by what he was doing to her.
All I can say is this review doesn't even come close to how I feel or why you should read this book. Alaska's writing just keeps getting better and better and this is a must read for dark lovers.

5 stars. If you like dark romance, this will be right up your alley. You have a woman who has no desire to live, and a dark, broken man who wants to give her something to live for. That premise sounds sweet, but this book is anything but sweet. It's dark people!! She is the slave and he is her Master, whether she wants him to be or not. You get the picture? He does the whole Master/slave thing to help people, and he does help them. He breaks them down, and builds them back up, to show them that they have a life worth living. He helps them move on from their tragedy and grief, staying completely aloof through all of it. At the end of their time together, he can let them go to live their lives. He's done this many times, until he meets Diane. He can't break her down to build her back up, because she is already completely broken. The lengths he goes to reach her......GAH!!!! Extreme for sure. I've never read a book with blood play in it, and never really cared to, because.....that's just....weird. :p The author makes it So. Freaking. Hot!! Not hot enough to make me try it, but it's still completely hot in a dark, depraved way. :)) SO!! The ending, because I like to know. If you like dark romance, you will love this. Highly recommend!

Diane lost her daughter and husband to a drunk driver which caused her to lose herself. She was unsuccessful many times in committing suicide which led her to Master. He uses dom/sub type relationships to instill fear in his 'slaves' causing them to find purpose in life thus developing a plan to live. But he has met his match with Diane, the slave that wants death at any cost but also makes Master long for a traditional dom/sub relationship. They trigger something in each other that makes it hard for both to ignore, though they both fight it. Diane fought for her right to commit suicide and then her right to live but didn't really fight for Master like I thought she would. As she said in the book, it may not have made a difference since he chose to continue with her work over her. 'Work' is a scapegoat for Master because he doesn't have to feel anything to do it. He doesn't risk falling in love, and possibly losing another partner. His house is a prison not only for the slaves but for himself. Not sure he truly realized this until Diane came along. The author did not a good job bringing two broken souls together and giving each other a reason to truly live.

LOVED!!!! I read this book in one day which is unheard of for me. I couldn't put it down. "Master" was mysterious enough that I wanted to keep reading to learn about him. Who is he? Why does he do what he is doing? Will his methods work? Will they fall in love? So many questions that I had to have answers to.

WOW...WOW...It's been twenty-four hours since I finished this book and I'm still at a loss for words. I thought if I gave myself time to let it all sink in it would come easier but I was wrong. This book is one of the most unique reads I've ever read. I was intrigued by the synopsis, and completely blown away by the time I finished. This book went above and beyond my expectations.
As much as I would love to go on and on and on about this book, I will just ruin it for you and I don't want to do do that. So I'm gonna try to keep it short and sweet.
Unbearable is a dark read, not just because of the bdsm/dom/sub/master elements. The characters in this book are dark. They are trapped in hells of their own making not able to heal from terrible events that have happened in their lives. They believe their lives are so terrible that not living at all would be better than dealing with it. Once a person mentally hits that level, there is no other way but to keep heading down. Unless you have a reason to be drug back up.
Diane is beyond lost. She is so lost she has found that nothingness is better. Master is determined to scare the need to die out of her. Funny isn't it,if someone wanted to die, they would take it anyway they could right? Wrong. Most want it fast and quick. They don't want to feel the pain and second guess themselves. They just want it done and over with. But Master refuses her, like he does with all of his slaves, and begins his four week cycle of breaking Diane down completely so he can build her back into a functioning human again. Diane, however, doesn't take too highly to his plan, or his advances. Master has never allowed himself to feel for any of his slaves. Doing this "good deed" feeds the monster within knowing that he gets what he needs to function while helping to save others lives. You know he had to have suffered greatly to be living the way he is living and doing what he does on the daily.
I would've never imagined a person making another their slave in order to save their life. But as I read this book, I could see it being a fucked up way to prove to another person they have worth and to make the most out of what life you are offered. Going through what Diane and Master go through together makes you ache for the two of them. You wonder what caused him to become who he is, and the connection the two of them have is out of this world. You long for both of them to obtain the peace they deserve and is so long past due. It's never that easy for two people who are so screwed up to find happiness. What is happiness, really, than the absence of sadness or pain? They will never truly know complete happiness except in each others' sadness and pain. Because when they are there together they are no longer alone, they share in the others sorrow and take pleasure in it.
Although this story is erotic, and at times has you questioning your sanity for thinking such things are so fucking hot that you'd give up four weeks of your own life to stay with master, this story is so much more than dark romance. It's a story of hope, love, and redemption played out in the deepest recesses of ones psyche. Seriously, read this book. Feel their pain, feel some of your own. But for the love of all things holy, just let yourself feel it.

It is incredibly satisfying to read a book that is totally new and different to me. The synopsis sounded intriguing and after reading quite a few books in this genre lately, it looked to be a bit different. Which made it even more interesting.
Diane is a woman in pain. She has lost everything in her life that means anything to her, and she doesn't feel she has anything left worth living for. After unsuccessful attempts at suicide, Diane is told about 'Master', a man who will help those seeking death. Before Diane even has the chance to think about it, she is taken to him.
A dark and sprawling mansion, in the middle of nowhere, is looming in front of Diane. She is taken in and has no idea that she can not leave.
It's here that Diane meets the man known as 'Master'. He is gorgeous and powerful and not at all what Diane was expecting.
It's here that Master has a plan, a routine. He can make those seeking death, regain the will to live again. To want a life worth living. Yet, it's how he goes about bringing back that will, that is quite shocking and unusual. He will become their Master, and they will do exactly as they are told. He will break them down, to build them back up again, reborn and compliant. Through their pain, they learn not to desire death anymore, they want to live and not be afraid.
It's all a little confusing in a way, not exactly what you would think would work. Yet Master has a success rate and nobody under his care and attention, ends up taking their own life.
Like I said, the story was unique and totally different from anything I had read before. Making it a really good read. It was very dark and had a lot of very sensitive subject matter.
The main characters, Diane and Master were both characters that had been through some extremely traumatic ordeals in their lives. This unconventional life style and tactic ends up being what essentially saves the both of them. Diane is surprisingly a very strong character. She has been through the very worse that could happen to her, and she still ends up fighting for her life. It just takes her a while to get there.
There is also some very hot and shocking scenes in this book, for those who love their books dark and risky. This book likes to dance around the hard limit lines, but it does it beautifully. Just like the writing style. This book was incredibly well written and painted a dark and shocking picture that could also be seen as beautiful and a tale of love at it's hardest.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and as a new reader of author Alaska Angelini, I am pleased to see she has a huge amount of books for me to go explore.

Unbearable is a love story; a dark, twisted, f*cked-up love story, but a love story nonetheless.
“You are the slave. I am the Master.”
Master is a controlling, dominant man who takes in suicidal victim and makes them his slaves. He forces them to see true fear, and figure out why life is worth living. He is very successful at his duties…until Diane becomes his slave.
Diane doesn’t want to continue living. Master takes her in and unleashes his forceful ways on her, but she won’t give in easily. However, the pain she gets from Master shows her she is still alive.
“What kind of dark shit did I harbor that would respond to this kind of treatment? What kind of twisted bitch was I?”
And, much to her surprise, it also gives her pleasure.
“Fuck , it hurt…so good. How was I even enjoying any of this? Even just a little?”
Together, they inflict pain and pleasure on one another.
Dark romance is a fairly new genre for me. I am really intrigued by these types of stories, and can see why some people need the pain in order to find their pleasure. I was first introduced to Alaska’s writing in the This Dom series, which I absolutely loved and, after reading this story, she has a fan for life.

Diane suffered such a horrible loss that she wanted to be a part of it, but fate would not allow her to be. Instead, she tries very hard to do away with herself, but there is one that will STOP her no matter what.... MASTER.
Master's way of "helping" each victim is heart-wrenching because he knows what will and won't work on them. For Master, Diane is "different and unique", on a whole other level and, even though he tries to deny it, he's attracted to her more than he should be.
Diane has a hard time wanting the help Mater is giving her, defying him at every turn, but as she starts to see the reasoning of why Master wants to help her, we can see her wheels spinning.
Oooh, the sex scenes are burning hot, so don't be surprised if your Kindle (or you) overheats. It will happen, that is guaranteed. You will truly appreciate how Ms. Angelini pours her whole heart into this beautiful, dark story. Unbearable will have you reeling for days to come.

This book is about Diane who will face the biggest lost in her life which will be so hard as her solution to end her misery is DEATH. She has tried many times but was unsuccessful. This will eventually lead her to meet Sevastian. Sevastian has his own twisted demented ways to snap Diane out of her depression.
There's a lot of erotic scenes and lots of BDSM including blood/breath play. This book is not for everyone especially if you have triggers!! It's important to take the author's warning seriously.
This book was so well written..it took me on an emotional rollercoaster with the characters..I applaude Alaska Angelini for her imagination!! A must read.

If you can read this book without having issues, I highly recommend it. This book was amazing. At first I had no idea what to expect or how it would turn out but I loved it. I read it in a few hours and when I was done I was left wanting more. I hope there is another book in the future. This is a book about Diane, she has lost so much in her life and now she wants to die, she has tried several times but just hasn’t succeeded. Another patient at the mental hospital tells Diane how to fake the interview to be released and then tells Diane about the Master and what he can do for you. Not sure what to do Diane just goes to hear out the Master, but when the doors lock, she realizes she doesn’t really have a choice after all. Diane has been through hell and it looks like she is going to go through hell all over again. What she dosen’t know is that Master has his own hell and his own past as well. I don’t want to give too much away but trust me, it is a good read. I would love to hear more about Jamie and maybe a book with him in it and hopefully Diane and Master can make an appearance in that book.

I was given this book for an honest opinion by the author Alaska Angelini, who is one of my very few favorite authors. Kudos to you Alaska for another successful book!!
This story deals with attempted suicide, so please stop and think before you purchase this book.
Let me say, this is NOT your vanilla style romance with a little bit of erotica/BDSM thrown in. Alaska Angelini created a story filled with several shades of darkness that is truly not for the faint of heart.
This book deals with the successful, yet unconventional journey of Diane, who attempted to take her own life due to the worst life altering event a wife/mother could have happened.
I loved Diane's strength, and her will to live after being with 'Master' (Sevastian). His methods of rehabilitation are extreme, but he sees his own life altering events in her story, and wants only to save her in turn to save himself. Their journey together is very dark, but one that has them connecting in a way that you wouldn't think could work. Dominant and Submissive. This is how they save each other, and in the end of it all, fall in love.
The only piece of the story that still has my stomach in knots was Jamie, Sevastian’s first successfully rehabbed patient’s sadistic and cruel streak. His treatment of Diane SUCKED big time...

Diane is lost. Having grown up in the foster care system she finally has found her happiness in the form of her husband and her daughter. When they are both ripped away from her in one fell swoop she is left wading through a dark depression and wanting to end her life. "I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."
This is a goodie!! I was trying to explain to a friend how though this book should be wrong, it is so right. I have read a fair few dark, dubious, M/s books in my time, and there are definitely those moments when you wonder whether you should really carry on, because it seems so bad. Well, although it was shocking in places, the whole premise makes it seem ok. I am still trying to rationalise it - hopefully when you read it, you will get what I mean.
It is by turns fascinating, erotic, deeply emotional, darkly disturbing and full of hope and promise. I loved it!
This is a goodie!! I was trying to explain to a friend how though this book should be wrong, it is so right. I have read a fair few dark, dubious, M/s books in my time, and there are definitely those moments when you wonder whether you should really carry on, because it seems so bad. Well, although it was shocking in places, the whole premise makes it seem ok. I am still trying to rationalise it - hopefully when you read it, you will get what I mean.
It is by turns fascinating, erotic, deeply emotional, darkly disturbing and full of hope and promise. I loved it!

Thanks for a free book to read and review for Wicked Reads. Wow! Totally blown away at this dark, crazy, book. I'm shocked at what a great idea this book was. I was definitely sucked in, and I enjoyed reading this so much I didn't want to put it down. The book starts with Diane, who apparently thinks suicide is a great way to end the pain. After losing her husband and daughter to a drunk driver, her pain is unbearable and suicide seems to be her only way out. Only she tries and fails.....but gains the notice of someone who wants to take away her pain. He wants to make her stronger. Sometimes the only way to do that is to break you worse. I was captured and dragged through this tale of woe, and just loved it. Definitely not a romance with some hard limits but it was a dark book. Best entertainment ever....five stars.

Wow “Unbearable” was a wild ride. I couldn’t put the book down! I love dark reads and this certainly was one! The cutting scene was amazing. (Although, I would never ever do it)
Master makes these people that just want to die to feel again. And, his latest person is Diane that he is going to help with his special way of making them feel and want to live again.
One thing is that if you want to read this book then make sure you heed the WARNING! This book has some seriously disturbing situations and if they bother you don’t read this book! But, if the situations described in the warning don’t bother you then read on! Alaska I believe you have found a new follower. ME!

Diane lost her husband and child to a drunk driver and cannot fathom life without them. Master spends his days 'reprogramming' suicidal people. This was definitely a unique storyline. Diane fought Master with everything she had and Master fought back, desperately wanting to give her something to live for, even if he had strange, sadistic methods. It was dark, heavy on the BDSM, and even had some blood play. In other words, it was right up my alley. I'm being really picky by knocking off a star but I just had to because everything was "viscous"... From context, I'm sure she meant vicious and not that her Master was thick and gooey, but it happened often enough to annoy me.

I was enjoying the book, at first I thought it was just a little slow. But now i’m almost half way through, it hasn’t picked up.. and the characters are getting lovey dovey but are hiding it from each other… meh… this book isn’t for me. But I shall read it until the very end….

Amazing, great book!
Hot, dark and twisted, exactly the book I wanted to read!
This was my first book by Alaska Angelini and it was a total surprise. The story was really original and the characters believable. I loved her writing and I'm glad I've found such a talented author. I'm going to read her other books, I hope they will be as good as this!
