Well this one was centered around Nate. I liked learning his story. Love the hell hound and the constant Imps running around. I like how every book in this series features a different main character but you still have the overall story line through out the series.

When Camael, a fallen angel unleashes his demonic minions to claim souls for Lucifer himself, the Reaper Authority Force seems to be losing ground in their battle to save mankind. Nate, a witch, has helped out his reaper friends however he can, but in Reap and Reveal, as the newly inducted member of the RAF, he’s paired with a slobbery hellhound and Maeve, a reaper with kick-ass attitude. He’s unsure of his role at first, but when he saves Maeve from being claimed by Camael himself, he becomes the only one who can save mankind, and through him, the past and the future are revealed.

I loved this book. Although I enjoyed all the other reaper books by Lisa Medley, this one is my favorite. The tone is much darker in this book, probably because the stakes are very high—the fate of mankind is at risk. The plot took many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming, yet everything ties together nicely. The title is so perfect for what happens—through the reaping of souls, the answers to the questions are revealed.

More!!!

I've waited a long time to read this series only because I didn't think that Lisa was going to finish it. When I found out she was finishing the last book I started reading. The wait was worth it! Love this series!! I say give it a try!

Friday Frights ~ PNR Review ~ Reap and Reveal (The Reaper Series #3) by Lisa Medley

Reviewed by Shirley ~ 4.5 stars

I have come across this amazing series, and have been devouring them quickly to get up to speed with the superb characters that are shown in it. If you haven't read any of them I strongly advise you to do so. I have read them from cover to cover and could not put them down.

This is the third book in this amazing series and it has so much going on in it. Good over Evil is the fight shown in these books. It is about the Reapers and the constant battle against one of Lucifer’s commanders, a fallen angel by the name of Camael, who is putting demons and hells imps onto Earth in the supernaturally charged town of Meridian. Because of this the reapers have been given stronger powers to fight them and they have formed the Reaper Authority Force.

This book concentrates on two of the members of this elite force. Nate who is a human witch but has worked as an EMT during his adult life. The authority had brought Nate into the fold through his friendship with the leader Deacon but also because of his exceptional skills. And Maeve, who is a fairly new reaper who has been drafted into the Authority.

It is about the growing attraction between these two, although it starts out quite differently. Maeve is quite hard-nosed who feels she doesn't need anyone in her life, especially Nate whom Deacon had teamed her with. Nate has been attracted to Maeve from the beginning, even more so when they shared a unique life threatening experience together, but Maeve was not around anymore. Camael had taken her. Nate was going out night after night with his beloved hellhound Bocephus, who had been given to him from up high to help him track demons.

Maeve was going through a very bad time. Things were happening to her that were making her feel sickened and was helpless to do anything about it and was slowly getting resigned to her fate. But through the dogged persistence of the Authority and especially Nate, during one of their nightly furores with the demons they finally come across Maeve and Nate is able to rescue her by amazing means that even he didn't know he possessed.

The story goes on to tell you about the struggle to get Maeve back to her feisty self and it shows how Nate never gives up on her.

“He wanted her. All of her.”

And he was determined to be given the chance, and his chance did come.

Maeve was finding herself not being totally adverse from having Nate close in fact he was making her feel quite squishy and soft inside, not at all like how she normally felt and his kisses were affecting her in the most irresistible way.

“Brushing his lips against her, he nipped at her lip, pressing his forehead to hers. She softened under him and he parted her legs with his knee, slowly pushing against her entrance with his shaft. The tip slid in, and his arms trembled as he tried to hold his weight off her. When she wrapped her legs around his back and raised her hips off the bed to meet him, he broke. Sliding his hands under her head, he wrapped them around the back of her neck, holding her in place as he thrust into her in one long motion, filling her core completely.”

This book has so much going on in it. The fight between Good and Evil is particularly spectacular with the reapers in full throttle against Camael and his demons. Total mayhem is around them which makes for exciting reading. With Nate, at last finding out about his roots and Maeve finding peace in herself, something that has eluded her all her life. Brilliant book and series Ms Medley.

Sometimes being supernatural sucked.

She had filled a void in him that he hadn’t realized existed. Literally...snicker… HOLY!!! What an amazing story & series! I fell for Nate way back in book 1 and was thrilled that he got his own book! However there is no way I could have EVER guessed, hoped, wished or imagined such a story for him!!! This truly is an amazing book that is full of surprises, twists, shocking & earth shattering revelations and so much more!! I love that this series covers one gigantic overall storyline while at the same time there are all these fantastic “side” stories that are entertaining and help to explain, expand and strengthen the main storyline. Each “side” story is the story that is going on for one of the characters where you get to know a bit of their past, like what got them to this point, while at the same time telling their story AND the overall one as well. I love that each book is told about one character...even though they may find new friends, a working partner or even a romantic partner, it still is one person’s story. Typically a book is about the 2 people and the story flips between their point of view or their side of it. Lisa doesn't do that...a little bit, yes, but ..well I don't want to say anything more because I DO NOT want to spoil anything. Trust me! This is one explosive story!!! I cannot wait to see what else Lisa has in store for us! Well, for her characters, I mean! :) Lisa has a phenomenal wealth of talent and such an awesome gift for story telling! The depth to ALL of the characters as well as the ability to hook you right from the very beginning and it doesn't seem to ever let you go!! Long after I am finished I am still thinking of the storylines and what might happen in future books! However, nothing & I mean NOTHING in this book was ever predicted by this reader!! Isn't that the best part of a really great book, series AND author?!?! The ability to keep it all fresh, new, exciting, unique and unpredictable! Those qualities are exactly what I look for in my reading entertainment and I don't need to look any further than Master Storyteller Lisa & her Reaper series!!! Suffice it to say that I can't wait for book 4! Or book 5! Or book 6...you get the idea! This truly is a series you do not want to miss!!!

The Reaper Series brings us into the world of reapers, death, grim and gory and in the flesh, mostly. Each of the three books follows a different reaper, so they can actually be enjoyed individually as well as read together as a series.
Book 3, Reap and Reveal, was actually my favorite strictly because of the role reversal, and the added twist of having humans who are not quite human, not quite supe. Nate has special abilities, but Maeve is actually the reaper in this story. True to the title, we also learn some more about the world the Reapers come from and what their role in the human realm truly means, as well as the risks they take by becoming involved.
There are certainly possibilities for more titles, and I’d enjoy reading them, which is just about the best compliment you can give to an ongoing series. The stories weren’t 100% predictable, though at times I did have some moments where I felt a bit too much was insinuated, thus given away. The characters draw you to their work and their love, making you feel a connection that is often lacking in paranormal romance. Each book has it’s ups and downs, but I certainly would give Book 1 and 2 4 stars and Book 3 5 stars! making this a 4.5 star series!

Nate was introduced as the EMT and witch friend of Deacon's in Reap & Repent. He's been tagging along with the reapers, trying to figure out his place alongside them, because clearly he doesn't have the same abilities they do. This doesn't make him any less interesting, because I spent a great deal of time trying to figure him out and how his relationship with Ruth works. But the real draw is the attraction and connection he shares with his lost partner Maeve and the plight she faces when kidnapped and controlled by the demon Camael. There are so many tense moments, especially with Maeve's attitude about caring for others because of her past.

Another winner for Lisa Medley. I'm dying for another Reaper book, but I'm eager for anything she writes.

*I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

Nate is new in the Reaper Authority, but he isn't a reaper.... He gets caught in that in between. Paired with someone he never had gotten along with Maeve, he actually shows a different side of himself.
I was super excited in reading this book and seeing that Nate got his own story here. We meet and see other people but the focus is directed on he and Nate and Maeve.
Medley has a way of writing that really catches you off guard and leaves you just breathless! I love reading her work and I can't wait to read more!!!
You HAVE to start the series today and see what I mean!!
I absolutely love it!

There’s good versus evil! There’s cautious verses unbridled! (Though, honestly, not so much with the cautious, these guys.) There’s a plot twist/character motivation I hadn't anticipated! (Sorry, man. I sort of, kinda misjudged you, though really, you earned it in other ways. Jerk.) And there’s just enough in the way of steamy scenes to spice up the narrative, without overwhelming it.

As always, a great deal of fun to read.

My OPINION of book three

Good third book. This one focused on the relationship between Nate and Maeve while the overall plot continues. Secrets are revealed, the villain is redeemed, but the story continues.
Good writing, descriptive intimate scenes and moderate violence.
I didn't appreciate the constant use of blasphemous swearing. I don't mind cursing but leave God out of it. Just my opinion and the main reason for four stars.
I plan to continue the series. Recommended.

Book 3

There are more twists and turns in this book than a mountain road. It was nice to learn more about Nick and his Wiccan background. This one was darker than the other two but still an excellent read. I cant wait to see what Lisa has planned for the next book.
