Since I haven't read volume 2 or 4 of the original main series Mirage run of the turtles I think maybe I didn't get the full value out of this, but they are enjoyable stories.

I love a good tmnt comic. This collection is from Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Vol 2 from Mirage Studios in the 2000s which was one of my favorite comics at the time. This series being collected is the best. I read all these issues back when they first came out and seeing them again is amazing. The first story (issue 5) is a masterpiece. The black on white cutout comic is one of my favorite tmnt comics of all time. The art by Jim Lawson defined the turtles for me. His style was the face of the tmnt comics for years. If you’ve never read his stuff you should pick it up. The other three stories are decent. They’re fun but not as good as the first story.
If you’re a TMNT fan you should pick up Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 4 and see what could have happened to the turtles in the original storyline. They’re fun and a different take on the turtles than what’s currently being published.

nothing really stood out to me in this volume besides some of the plots being enjoyable and the most iconic shot of the turtles tail/pp i’ve seen so far. i’ve thought this every time i’ve seen them. who decided that was okay. but tbh the more i thought abt it the more i realized that tmnt was created by two men so they probably do know what they’re doing and thought it was funny. and yeah sometimes it is because WTFFF LMAOOOO why do they look like that😭😭and this volume had a silhouette shot of leo and omg it looked……
anyway was chill. don’t really have any notes and also didn’t really stand out. shadow is interesting tho lmao she’s never really in any movies or tv shows so LOL it’s cool reading abt her. i enjoyed the issue of her and the werewolves LMAOO

“To the victor goes… the spoils!” (Red ninja chick?)
“A large explosion is possible if this involves a gas leak of some sort.” (Donnie)
“Sounds bad! I’ve had deadly gas leaks myself!” (Mikey)

I liked the fact that each story was complete unto itself (they all started with,"Let me tell you a story. . ." Pretty violent, however, and all the turtles wore red bandanas so it was difficult to tell them apart especially if their weapons weren't visible.
