Being a manual of Daemonic Divination, Ascension and Channeling for Daemonolater mediums and seers who wish to learn how to communicate and divine with the Daemonic. For the experienced, the text will help fine tune the practitioner’s senses, honing better communication skills with the Daemonic Divine. This book includes methods to prepare divination devices as well as tips and exercises to facilitate strong communication, as well as rituals to charge and dedicate tools and enhance each divination session. Included throughout are bits and pieces of Daemonic wisdom regarding the art of divination and Daemonic communication. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to divine, connect and communicate or you just want to sharpen your skills, this is the book for you.
Good little book about different kinds of divination methods using the daemonic guidance... With all the respect to all the demons. Includes some exercises... & gives you a basic info how to start & do things. As a luciferian i found this book very handy for my practices.
This book is probably geared more toward the beginner. Other than recipes I’m unlikely to use I didn’t learn much in multiple sections already being familiar with to practiced in them. I took at least one little thing from each though.
It’s interesting that added bits from a demon were included but it’s strange that they were almost all from Ashtaroth considering the book includes Belial in the name. Connolly explains the title came from a friend no longer living who had been a priestess of Belial. But it would make more sense to me to have consulted Belial. He does make one appearance at the very end.
Problematic things: recommends using white sage, talks about Judeo-Christian magick as a concept
Incorrect thing: says tarot has 72 cards which is kind of a weird thing to get wrong in a book on divination when the number is easy to find
Another great book by S. Connolly. I quit enjoying her writing style and humor within her books. It brings realism to her works.
Drawing Down Belial was a interesting book. While this work more geared towards beginner, it's important that you do have a basic understanding of Daemonolatry when reading this book. I do recommend that people first read Connolly's The Complete Book of Demonolatry before trying any rituals in this book.
While I'm not a beginner, it was a nice refresher on some information that has been pushed too the back of my mind after 10+ years of practice.
What was most valuable parts of the book for me where the channeled messages from the Demonic that are gathered at the back of the book. As well as scattered in several other places. It was some nice food for thought.
Overall I'm really happy I've read this work and having it in my occult book collection.
In this book S. Connolly shares the daemonic system for divination, channeling, ascension (pathworking) as well a other related techniques. She shares how to make oils and other materials that can aid in doing this work. The book is a practical compedium that you can use to connect with daemonic spirits. the exercises are fairly easy to implement. You just have to get the required materials and then use them. Overall I found the book helpful for providing ways to improve on existing skills and connect with the daemonic.
