Wanting to escape the city for a quieter life to start a family, Danielle and Malik buy a fixer-upper in a small town. Despite building a fence to keep the feral dogs out of their yard, Malik is ambushed outside the gate and disappears. One night, thinking her husband has returned, Danielle lets a dog in the house. The dog is injured and against her better judgment, Danielle keeps it. As the search for her husband winds down due to weather conditions, Danielle is left wondering if she's losing her mind or something more is going on with the new dog.
Feral Parallel Timeline: Book Two Written By MFKR had a new twist that adds to the original story. I have to say I loved The original. It was good, really good. but this new version of the story really elevated the story line. I don’t want to spoil the fun but seriously whether you have read book one or not, don’t miss reading this version in book 2. I’m hoping that there is another book, book 3. I hope it picks up where this one leaves off. I want to know where things go from the epilogue. MFKR has really out done herself with the way she had weaved this storyline with a classic horror sub-genre. That’s all I’m going to say. Trust me, read this version, it’s amazing.
I absolutely loved this! I read the first one so I was in love with Bear (it’s a dog) my favorite character bc who hates a dog that’s protective? Not me I love it.
This book does give twilight zone vibes BUT it does creepy vibes all along. I am horrible at guessing plots in books so I had so many theories running through my head but they all surrounded the neighbors (Jack and Charlene) which I love neighbors like them. The book made me feel all sorts of emotions. I loved this book.
Reading Feral Parallel Timeline: Book Two just days after finishing the first book, I approached it from a fresh vantage point. It was both a welcomed opportunity and an exciting challenge to visualize the story’s elements while avoiding the risk of blurring two timelines together. With some fear that I might misremember events from the first book, I relied on MFK R’s excellent writing to guide me through the winding paths. Like with the first book, I could explore my theories of what could be without losing sight of what was actually being revealed
I took notes for both readings so I could look back and remember which parts stood out as quite memorable and why. Many of them were based on story elements, and I prefer my review to be free of the content as much as it can be. That said, even with drastic changes, the world-building and character development remained strong and authentic. I can say in confidence that when I picked up some breadcrumbs of doubt, suspicion, or hopelessness, it always felt natural, well timed, and completed with a proper payoff. As with the first book, MFK R has managed to keep a steady, yet non-uniform distribution of said payoffs, much to my liking.
For a fair and balanced review, I can’t claim to have loved every moment—even if I wanted to. So, I will say that I felt some loose ends that were tied up properly, could have been more thorough, more detailed, and more graceful. I took time to more slowly read some of the more intense parts to make sure I followed them clearly. At first, I worried I was struggling to follow the action, but I later realized that the character was just as in the dark as I was—which worked well. However, that does mean a little change in flow could have made that clearer on my first reading.
Overall, I felt gifted for having this opportunity to dive into Feral Parallel Timeline: Book Two as it was a wonderful experience after I had already thoroughly enjoyed the first book. MFK R does more than telling a story—she orchestrates an experience where uncertainty, tension, and revelation move in perfect sync, ensuring that every moment lingers long after the last page.
