The authors argue that Vladimir Putin and his advisors are committed to re-establishing Russia as a great power and that the existence of nuclear weapons and the revival of the Russian economy have provided the foundations for an expanded Russian role in global affairs.
This book does a better job than most on addressing the issue of Russia as a great power. Unfortunately there appear to be no copy editors at Palgrave MacMillan. The book is filled with incorrect names, spellings, and sections of repeated text. It becomes so frustrating it is difficult to read.
