A woman forever scarred…

Emily was a captive in The Collection for five long years, enduring torment and anguish the likes of which no soul should have to bear. Now rescued, she’s struggling to put the past behind her, to assimilate in a world where most will never know the evil often lingering beneath the superficial façade. Worse, she burns to avenge herself against the man who subjugated her again and again during her confinement—a man bent on getting her back.

A man forever devoted…

Kayne has wanted Emily for what seems a lifetime. Before they were ripped apart, theirs was an epic love, one Kayne knows is worth saving, rebuilding. Alongside her brother, Kayne searched for Emmy for years, and no amount of insistence on her part will push him away now that he’s found her. Tender patience will help her heal—if her vendetta doesn’t get her killed first.

Satisfaction reaped from revenge is fleeting, but personal demons linger. Will Emily fight them? Or allow her flaws to overshadow her strengths, denying herself that which Kayne desperately wants to give?

star+rating.png (804×167):

I started this series by skipping book 1 and jumping right into this one, and after book 3. Now, I had no problem with the story-line, but after going back and reading the first book, I would strongly advice reading this series in order. This book picks up right where book 1 ends, and it has a bit of a continuing storyline, so reading them in order, will be much more enjoyable.

giving-advice.gif (272×200)

Book 1 also introduces you to Emily and Kanye, the main couple of this second installment.

Emily has recently been rescued out of hell, by her brother, boyfriend and their close friends. She has spend 5 years as part of "The collection". The collection is a group of women from all over the world, who where abducted by Marco. They are displayed monthly, at private parties and sold to the highest bidder as a sex-object.

Emily was Marco's first collection piece and so she has been there the longest. My heart broke for all that she has been through and I cried buckets of tears, while reading her story.

tumblr_inline_nshha5J5l01s3t5ed_500.gif (250×278)
Now... Emily is saved and back to her old life, but she is so broken..she doesn't even know what it feels like to smile anymore. For 5 years she has been called a "worthlesss whore" and even though she is free now...these words keep repeating themselves over and over in her head.

She knows that her family and boyfriend Kanye, went through their own version of hell when she was taken, and she doesn't want to add anything more to their pain...so she retreats. She feels that distancing herself is the best thing to do..since she is convinced she is dirty and would only cause them more pain in the end.

tumblr_nw4yrk0wTQ1uyqmbjo1_500.gif (500×250)

She believes Kanye would never love her again, if he finds out all that has happend to her. He is much better of without her filth tainting him.

But she should know better, because Kanye is the boyfriend of all boyfriends and he is not to be pushed away. He has been in love with Emily for as long as he can remember. After 5 years of agony, he will have his Emily back and he will fight for their love.

"Emmy, I fell in love with you before I even knew what love was. And I will continue to love you until I'm old and senile and I forget what love is".

Kanye is definitely one of the most awesome hero's, I have ever had the pleasure to read about. He will never give up on his Emily. I was in awe of his utter devotion. I think every woman deserves a Kanye of her own.

I love this book even though my eyes are swollen from the tears I shed while reading this book. This is one of those books that completely pulls you into the story and you feel a part of it!!Just reading the prologue kind of shattered me and set the tone for this story perfectly.
In the first book, we learned of Emmy's rescue from the human sex trafficking ring and is reunited with her love, Kanye. In book 2 we see the horrors and emotional scarring that has been left on Emily and how she adjusts to life after 5 years of captivity.

You Loved Me At My Weakest is a powerful and amazing story about love, strength and survival.

This book is for you if… you're looking for a romance novel with a love story that rattles you to your bones. TW: heavy topics such as r*pe, *selfh*rm, sex sl*avery, human trafficking.

Overall.
I've read the prequel almost two years ago. I've been wanting to catch up on this series FOREVER. But, yeah. You know how it goes. Too many books, too little time.

Still, here we are. I finally read it and HOLY HARPY it was almost good enough to forsake another night of sleep. I can't wait to finish the series! Because trigger warnings apply, I'm also counting this for my bookclub's October 2020 challenge, which - obviously - is themed "all things spooky, thriller, crime and horror".

Even though I devoured this within 24 hours, I still couldn't quote a single thing from this book, even if my life depended on it. There simply was no time to waste. I remember vividly how much I enjoyed You loved me at my darkest . It was an absolutely unexpected surprise because I figured I was dealing with yet another crappy dark romance - not a fan of the genre in general - but the series turned out to be so much more.

You Loved Me At My Weakest offers a heartwrenching - if slightly optimistic, in my opinion - view into the life of people who survive traumas that weigh more than one person is able to carry. Emily was saved from sex slavery, against all odds, and is now returning to a life she doesn't know how to live anymore. Thankfully, her boyfriend and the love of her life Kanye refuses to give up on their relationship - and on her. I particularly found myself gushing over the narrative whenever Kanye said those things I wished men people said to each other more often - as often as possible even.

The relationship between the two was such a joy. Additionally, there was plenty of character growth to witness on behalf of Emily, which I found very touching and realistic.

What’s happening.
Emily spent 5 years in sex slavery. She gave up on hoping to ever be rescued after she lost count of the men that raped her. Being back in her hometown is more of a struggle than she expected, and so is letting go of her desire for revenge. But will she be able to find back to her relationship with Kanye if she doesn't?

4 STARS. Would stay up beyond my typical hours to finish it. I found some minor details I didn't like, agree with or lacked in some kind but overall, this was enjoyable and extraordinary.

When I first read this series, I do not like it very much. I thought the author does not bring up the drama on the sex traffic theme enough. I took a chance to read the second book. To my surprise I do like You Loved Me at My Weakest very much. This book has many trigger warning. So be careful reading it.

Like the previous book, the author did not touch the grim dark reality of sex trafficking. Instead, she highlight the journey from victim to survivor. Although the transformation of Emmy is too quick and too sudden in the middle of the book. I think Kayden character is my next book boyfriend. He carefully let Emmy have her time and he still manage to be beside her. It is swoon worthy.

Overall I do enjoy this book very much.

You Loved Me At My Weakest by Evie Harper was one of the most poignant, beautiful, heartfelt and gripping books that I have read. Ms. Harper takes her readers on an emotional and yet powerful story that will touch her readers to the core. Hearts will break. Tears will be shed. And love will heal. In this gripping tale of survival, You Loved Me At My Weakest will showcase that its okay to get help. There is no shame in admitting for help. Fear does not make you weak but admitting your fears is what makes you stronger. In our times of struggle, darkness, fears, and demons have a way to cloud and creep into our lives but with the help of family and friends, light can its find its way through the darkness. And with the power of love it can overcome anything and heal the cracks of our hearts. And in our weakest moment we will find our voice and strength.

#YLMAMW

You Loved Me At My Weakest picks off where it last left off in You Loved Me At My Darkest and chronicles the story of Emmy and Kanye. In the first book, we learned of Emmy’s rescue from the human sex trafficking ring and is reunited with her love, Kanye. But adjusting to this new life of freedom after 5 years of captivity takes a toll on Emmy. How do you adjust to life when for 5 years you lived in the darkness? Raped countless amount of times? Have been physically and emotionally abused? And what happens when hurtful words such as whore, loser, and weak from the monsters are ingrained in your mind? So in Emmy’s case, it is truly heartbreaking and shattering to see a young woman slowly fading and dying from her fears. So how do you move on when you don’t know where to start? And how do you live in peace knowing one of the monsters you feared is still lurking around?

#YouLovedMeAtWeakest

There was only one woman Kanye loved and Emmy was his. For five years, he never gave up hope and was searching for Emmy non-stop. He would go to Hell and back if it means to be reunited with her. For him, Emmy was the one. His life revolved around her. So when he was finally reunited with his love, Kanye made it known to Emmy that he will be there for her. Her burdens are his burdens. Her tears are his. Her pain are his pain. He understood why Emmy wanted to push him away, but he made it clear from the first day that she was rescued that he will be there for her. No matter what, Emmy was his and he knew from the depths of his heart and soul that she felt the same way about him. Slowly, Kanye was able to fix the cracks of Emmy’s heart with his endless love and devotion. Can love heal? And the answer is YES!!! Kanye brought life and light back into Emmy’s dark world.

The journey of Kanye and Emmy’s love has no words. It’s one of those rare love you can only hope to find. A love that has no bounds. A love that is light. A love that brings hope. A love that breathes life. A love that is strong. A love that you will fight for. A love that heals. And most importantly a love that cannot be extinguished. And Kanye and Emmy clearly showed that their love was timeless. It was a love of survival. A love that will make you believe.

#YLW

You Loved Me at My Weakest will definitely tug your heartstrings. This book was so honest, raw and touching that you could not help but feel the pain, heartbreak and shame that Emmy had to endured for five years of captivity. In this sensitive subject matter, Ms. Harper will capture your hearts with this amazing story of survival and love. This book stole my heart. I was so absorbed with how captivating Emmy and Kanye’s story was. Their love left me speechless. It was simply beautiful. This was a love story like no order. It was a love that can’t be explained but felt. You Loved Me At Weakest is a story that must be experienced because it will grip and touch you to the core. And this book reminds us all to “Find a heart that loves you at your worst, and arms that will hold you at your weakest.”

To fully comprehend the full story of "You Loved Me At My Weakest" it's vital that you read "You Loved Me At My Darkest" to understand the hardships and the road long travelled for the girls to slowly mend to how they were before the kidnappings..

I need help, I was kidnapped. I have a family, a boyfriend. They all probably think I'm dead. Can you help me escape? Please, I need help."

"I just found you. You aren't going anywhere,"
"I should introduce myself. My name is Donovan. We are going to get to know each other very well, Emily. I'm going to be at every party and I'm going to buy you every time. You're now my new toy. I'm going to bring you to near death, and then I'm going to f*ck you stupid, Marco may own you, but I will be your master in this room, once a month.'

I loved the first book in this series, becoming an instant fan of Evie Harper, so reading this second book was a no brainier for me. I couldn't wait to read Emily and Kanya's story and I wasn't disappointed. This was another really good read.

If you've read the first book "You Loved Me At My Darkest" you may remember Emily and Kanya. For the last five years Emily had been living the worst kind of nightmare. Now free and reunited with her family and her boyfriend, Kanya, Emily was struggling to recover from her ordeal. I found that the first half of this book was a painful read. My heart was breaking for Emily and how she was coping with what had happened to her. She was doing everything she could to push her loved ones away, even Kanya. Emily was filled with self doubt and hatred for herself. The poor girl was so damaged and my heart went out to her.
Darkness and nightmares are my future now. This is my life, my never-ending nightmare.

Kanya was the most loving and caring boyfriend any girl could wish for. I loved his determination to fight for Emily. He refused to be pushed away and wanted so desperately to help her. Kanya loved Emily with all of his heart and he was adamant that he was not going to give her up. My heart hurt for him as he had to watch Emily fall apart in front of his eyes. I could feel his pain and frustration as he was pushed away, time and time again. The boy was relentless though and I was willing for Emily to let him in.
"I'm warning you now, Emmy; you are mine. I will be watching and waiting. I won't lose you again."

Emily and Kanya made a beautiful couple and I could see that there was so much love between them. I loved reading the flashbacks of their early life together but it also made me feel sad at the life that they had lost. There were so many years missed that they would never get back.
Kanya is my bright light. He was always there in my mind; that small light, always fighting for me, even when I didn't realize it.

Thankfully, as the story progressed I did get a reprieve from the heartbreak as Emily and Kanya finally started to rebuild their live together. Things were looking up for the pair and they began to make up for all of those years apart. I enjoyed this part of the story. It was nice to see some light at the end of the dark tunnel. As I was settling down into the happiness of Emily and Kanya's new life, I couldn't help feel that I had been lulled into a false sense of security. I was certain that this couple had a way to go before they could find their happy ever after. I started to panic for what was going to happen. If anything else was to upset their little world I doubted if they would recover a second time.
I'm so weak yet this man loves me at my weakest.

I have truly loved the characters in this series so far. I have enjoyed getting to know Emily and Kanya and I loved catching up with Lilly and Jake from the first book. I am also intrigued by Alexa and Joseph and I am wondering if I will get to know more about this couple in the next book. I hope so because I am convinced that they have a story to tell.

Although it is not essential that you read the first book in the series before reading this one, I highly recommend that you do. Not only because it is a brilliant read but also because I feel that it would make you understand what had happened to Emily and all of the other characters parts in the story so far.

This is the second book in the You Loved Me series and I've got to admit that I loved it!
This is Emily's story. We all met her in the first book as Jake's lost sister.
This book describes Emily's struggle after she is set free from her captivity in The Collection.
Her wounds are deep and they hurt badly. Her face is a mask that she keeps on all the time. She doesn't want her family to know how badly damaged she is. She feels worthless, dirty and broken and she wants to be left alone.

 photo 12232956._SY540__zps7ghbqhkg.jpg

But Kayne won't have any of it. He will be there for her, remind her of their love and force her to be strong again. Will his devotion be strong enough to bring her back? Will demons of her tortured past come back to haunt her?
I loved Emily. Her emotions were so raw and palpable. I felt for her, I understood her pain. I wanted her to be with Kayne but at the same time I understood her reluctance to get back with him. She has been conditioned to believe that she is nothing.
I loved Kayne. He was an amazing character and I was pleasantly surprised at how loyal he was to Emily.

You Loved Me At My Weakest was heartbreaking and sad but an absolutely wonderful read for me. I cried so much while reading this book because of what Emily went through. She was such an amazingly strong woman although it was beat into her that she was weak. I loved how she found her way with the love of those around her especially Kayne . Now Kayne who is without a doubt the most amazing H, his patience and love towards Emily was so beautiful. She was his everything and he spent all the years she was gone looking for her. Watching the beautiful, happy woman being loved and cherished back to the woman she used to be was my favorite. I'm already reading book 3.

A powerful story that I couldn't pull myself away from

Darkness and nightmares are my future now. This is my life, my never-ending nightmare.

I feel like I've been put through the ringer! My heart broke so many times For Emmy. I just finished and I still feel like someone has a knee on my chest. I thought this book was going to break me! So well written I felt everything Emily was going through. Pain, loss, hopelessness.. We get a glimpse in the prologue, to the hell that Emily had to endure, and from then on this book did not let me go.

Emily is plagued by the torment that she lived through. Surrounded by her family and friends she can't help but feel trapped and alone. I hurt for her as a parent, as a sister, and as a woman. I wouldn't call this a dark read for my lovely dark divas. What I will call it, is a powerful and amazing story about love, strength and survival.

I can say without a doubt that I will be reading everything this author writes. While this story does contain triggers that some may need to be weary of I still would suggest that every woman reads this. This book reminds us that we are strong no matter what. It's that strength to hold on, to fight, and to believe in ourselves that we may lack.

+++ 5 TIMELESS LOVE STARS +++

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"No one wants to exist in the dark when they can live in the light of day."

Evie Harper has become one of my favorite authors. She knows exactly how to gut punch you with the feels and make you fall in love with her characters and their stories.

Imagine living in a world where everything is perfect and you're the happiest you'd ever been, but then one day that perfect world crumbles at your feet with no way of knowing how to put the pieces back together again; that's what happened to Emily the moment she's kidnapped and sold. She loses that brightness that once shone like the North Star. She's feels tainted, dirty, and unworthy inside. Witnessing Emily's self hate was truly gut wrenching and heartbreaking.

"A life, a wonderful life which was ripped away from me. Taken by the devil, and in return, all he gave me was a broken mind and soul. Scars to bring back to my family and destroy them with."

Kayne has been in Emily's life since they were kids, so it was only natural that when they got older they'd fall in love. Never having a great relationship with his parents, he always strived for the approval of Emily's father and the love of a family. In my book that makes him the most beautiful and amazing man ever. Not once did he ever stray and follow in his dysfunctional parents footsteps. He knew he was better than that and with Emily by his side, he could be anyone and do whatever he set his heart to.

I've never experienced a love story more beautiful than Emily and Kayne's. Their love is timeless and a rare gem that's hard to find. This was a story of survival. I loved watching Emily rise from the ashes like a phoenix. She took back her life and fought back against the demons that tormented her. Evie , thank you for a wild and emotional ride that is sure to stick with me for awhile.

"I am a rose. I have scars from my life, but I am strong. I stand tall and I grasp life every day and live. I survived. I'm a survivor and I'm proud of myself."

I just want to say that I am honored to have had the opportunity to receive an ARC for this book. I absolutely LOVED You Loved Me At My Darkest and I could not wait to read Emily and Kanye's story. Evie Harper has hands down become one of my most favorite authors. I don't know what they are feeding the people down under, but Australia is producing some HOT men and AMAZING writers!!

"I'm not going anywhere, no matter what words you sling my way. I was here twelve years ago. I'm here now, and I will be here fighting for you until the day I die." ~Kanye

Going into this book, I knew it was going to be an emotional read. Emily had been through so much. Beaten, raped, and broken, Emily had survived 5 years in hell. Saved and now home with her family and the man she never forgot, she faces the challenges of stepping back into her old life...into her old self. As Emily fights the darkness that threatens to consumed her and struggles to believe that she is worthy of Kanye's love, a demon from her past is hell bent on finding her and reclaiming her as his own.

"My stomach churns, but it's not my tummy. It's anger swirling around my scarred soul. Rage. Now more than ever., I need to reach Donovan. And when I do, I may not make it out alive, but neither will he." ~ Emily

I really enjoyed Emily's story...I read it in one sitting! It was emotional. It was heart breaking. It was everything that I had hoped for! If you loved book 1, you will not be disappointed. But this time, this girl gets her revenge and boy was it sweet! Evie Harper has written another amazing novel. Bringing back the characters I loved from You Loved At My Darkest and leading me into the next novel in this series, You Loved My at My Ugliest, has me completely hooked. I would highly recommend this book...this series!

I am Emily Roberts.

I am a survivor.

I am happy.

** JOSIE'S 5 STAR REVIEW **

I had the pleasure of reading the first book in this series and I really loved it so I was so excited when I heard that we were going to be getting a 2nd book. The author did an amazing job in writing this dark read. I love the way she can turn a dark and gritty story into one that was full of love, bravery and survival. How even in the darkest moments there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I was captivated from start to finish. This story is about Emmy and Kanye’s story and it is told thought both their POV’s. The story takes place 5 years after Emmy’s kidnapping. Where she is now rescued and living back home. I will warn you the prologue is not for the faint heart. It is dark, strong and graphic and honestly it just made the story even more powerful.

Emily is home, she should be happy that she gets to see her family again, that she is free and safe, no more hands touching her, no more bruises and no more abuse. However, when she thinks of all she has been through these past 5 years, all she feels is broken, used up and dirty. Emily struggles to feel like she deserves to be happy. She feels like she has nothing to offer her family and her boyfriend Kanye. They don’t know what she has been through and she thinks if they did know then they wouldn’t want her. Emmy pushes Kanye away and pretends to be happy in front of her family so that they can move on. All the while she was dying inside by keeping everything bottled up. My heart broke for Emmy. You can feel her torment and feel her struggle with what she went through. I also felt proud for as well with her strength and determination. She fought every day for months to have a sense of normalcy.

“I don’t know what you want from me, but you and me, the us, the us we used to be, it’s gone now. No Kanye you need to understand. I’ve changed and my feelings for you have changed. I’ll always cherish our time together, but you need to move on.”

“My heart is broken, Emmy, broken for having been without you for even a second in this fu*ked up life God thought he has to test us with. But, mostly, my heart is broken because I can see how much pain you’re in. I can never understand why you’re doing this to us, to me, but I love you regardless. I’ll always will. Moving on, there is no moving on from you , Emmy. You are mine and I am yours. No matter how many nights apart we have endured and will endure, that will never change.”

Kayne has never given up hope that Emmy would be back, 5 years later, the love of his life is back and in their home. He knows Emmy is suffering and that she has endured hell and it kills him every time he has to leave her. He knows he needs to give her space but being without her again is not an option. He is the most loving, caring and selfless male character I know. You will fall in love with him and his battle to get Emmy to realize she is more to him that what she sees herself as. Every day he makes sure Emmy knows that he is not going anywhere, that he is with her for life.

“You try and push me away by using another man and I will be on your a** twenty-four f****** seven, make sure all the a******* in this town know you’re mine. Whether you want to be or not.”

“Emmy, this is what’s going to happen. I’m moving back in. This is happening. F***, I’ve been waiting for you to make the first move for three g****** months and last night you did; that’s all I needed. I know you want me. I know you love me. Now it’s my move and, baby, I’m taking a huge f****** step right into your life and there is nothing, you can do about it. You’re mine, always have been. Only sweet dreams ahead for us, Emmy. I’m going to show you that.”

Emily will fight to find her way out of h*** she has been in for 5 years, fight for the man she loves and fight to no longer live in fear. Emmy has Lily around, and since they both went through that h*** together they have a bound and know what each other is feeling. When she feels she doesn’t deserve to be happy Lily is the one to show her that she does deserve that and more.

“How are you happy? I can’t feel it, joy, about anything. I want to. But I just feel sad all the time.”

“Oh, Em. I’m happy and sad. I take each moment as it comes. I have my bad days. You brother is closing the hole more and more every day with his love and support. If you let Kanye in, he can do the same for you. Em, you have been through hell and back, but you are not damaged. And you are good enough for Kanye, for any man who you wanted to be with.”

Kanye and Emmy fight for their love and together they help Emmy find the peace to deal with her dark past. When Kanye, Jake and Dom find out the past is not willing to let Emmy go, they will do anything to keep her safe. Can Kanye keep Emmy safe and by his side? Will Emmy’s past come back and take away her sense of freedom or will her past make her weak again? This is a powerful story about love and no matter how much time has gone by and how damaged a person sees themselves as, true love will always prevail. Once again the author has done amazing job. She has truly created a story that touched my heart. To read and feel the fight and love Emmy and Kanye had was amazing, captivating and overwhelmingly touching. You need to pick this series up. The characters will take you on a journey through survival and forgiveness. I cannot wait for the next book in this series.

I was given an ARC for an honest review.

"I don’t know what to say, how to thank you for never giving up on me. You keep giving me hope and beauty in my dark world. You’re lighting it up. What used to be a small light in a corner is now so bright, it fends off the monsters all on its own.” Kanye gives me a grand smile and it shows off his glassy eyes. “Love means never being alone, Emmy. If there is one thing in this world that is true and everlasting, it’s my love for you, and that means you were, and will never be alone.” Kanye reaches out to me and pulls me to him in an earth-shattering, passion-filled kiss.

Once again, Evie Harper knows how to write an Amazing story that drags you in and doesn't let you go until the last page. Simply putting it, Beautifully Amazing. I couldn't put this book down. Emily is a very strong and beautiful person. She has the biggest and kindest heart, and no matter how broken and damaged she is, she fights to save those she loves, even if that means saving them from herself. That takes courage and strength beyond anything I can comprehend. Throughout this book she faces a lot of inner turmoil that threatens to ruin all those around her. IncludIng the love of her life, Kanye. I thought nobody could take the place of Jake, but Kanye came in stole my heart. Gah, that man had me eating out of the palm of his hands. Everything from his words, actions and emotions my heart was a goner. That man is the epitome of a book boyfriend. He is extremely protective, loving, caring, hilarious and Sexy as hell. He does everything in his power to save Emily from herself. He fights for her and their relationship like you need air to breath. All he wants is for Emily to let him in so he can help her heal from the inside out. There were so many emotions going through me while reading this book. I felt anger, sadness, love, and happiness. These characters made me feel everything they were going through. I felt it all. I was waiting for that moment to come when Emily finally broke down her walls and finally let Kanye in. Seriously, Kanye never stopped fighting. There were so many moments in this book I was swooning over. Especially all the things Kanye did for Emily. He literally is one of the sweetest guys I have ever read. They truly have an everlasting love that is beyond anything I have read thus far. They are both willing to go to the ends of the earth for on another, not caring about the consequences.

In this the book we also get to meet Emily's and Jake's parents. Who are the best parents ever. And of course my man Jake and the love of his life, the beautiful and strong Lily are back. I am so happy that they are back and we get to witness the beautiful moment when Jake surprises Lily. Oh what a surprise it is. We also get to meet Nick and Dom, who are Kanyes and Jake's best friends and partners in crime. I have to say that the few times we meet Nick, he grew on me. I would like to read more about him. Last but not least Joseph O'Connor is back. I am anxiously awaiting to see if he gets his own book. There is so much more to him I would love to learn and read about. Hint Hint. That being said. As the story goes on, a Secret that Emily has been keeping from Kanye comes to light, and all hell breaks loose. Betrayal, hurt and heartbreak is the aftermath of that secret being revealed. Then the ending of this book was Freaking Fantastic. I was cheering Emily on the whole time. She was kick ass and then some. She finally realizes life is so much more than her past, she wants a future with the man she loves, and she fights like hell to keep her past from destroying her and fight for the love of the man she can't live without. Before I go any further, I just want to point out that epilogues for me can either make or break a story for me and this one did not disappoint at all. It was extremely well done and one of the most beautiful epilogues I have ever read, ever. Absolutely Beautiful!

This book had some of the most Beautiful quotes I have ever read and this is one that stuck with me.....

"The fear of knowing what it feels like to lose Kanye will forever stay with me. But that’s life, isn’t it? Taking the risk to love someone knowing one day you will lose each other. Love is pain. Without the pain, how would you know what love feels like?"

Thank you Evie Harper for sharing Emily's and Kanyes story with us. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to read this book. I can't wait to see what else you have in store for us. You write some of the most beautiful stories I have ever read, that will forever stay with me.

You Loved Me at My Weakest is book two in the You Love Me series by Evie Harper and this is Emily and Kanye’s story. It is the story of a broken woman and a man that has never stopped loving her. This story was not an easy story to read in the sense that Emily is really struggling to let go of what happened from the 5 years she was in captivity as a sexual slave. The Prologue really kind of shattered me and set the tone for this story perfectly.

YLMAMW starts off as soon as Emily and Kanye land back in the states. We see Emily go through many emotions as she tries to reacquaint herself with a world she has been away from for 5 years. Her family and Kanye are such huge supporters of hers and will do anything to help her get through this troubled time. I really appreciated how Evie Harper had Emily see a therapist. I thought it was very realistic and some of her conversations with her therapist were very moving. I never got that her support team pushed her to move into a life she wasn’t ready for and that Kanye was her rock even when she didn’t want him to be.

I fell hard for Kanye and I almost think my heart went out to him more than Emily. I didn’t like the way she kept pushing him away thinking she wasn’t good enough for him….that bit seemed a bit more drawn out than I would have liked, but when she finally succumbed and she let Kanye in, the story really picked up for me. I love an Alpha male who has the fight of a tiger but the heart of a lion and Kanye fits that bill perfect. I truly felt his love and adoration for HIS Emmy throughout this entire book.

There is a bit of mystery and action in YLMAMW and I think it really added to the plot line. We get to see some of the characters from book one and we get to meet some new ones whom I hope we will see again. In both books there is such a strong sense of love weaved throughout the story and I think Evie Harper really excels at bringing these emotions to the forefront. My only drawback to reading this story was there were several terms used in this book that we as American’s don’t use and many times it interrupted my flow of reading. If you were a fan of book one, I think the transition that this book takes from the seedy world of sexual slavery to the suburbia of the Midwest, will make you happy. Emily and Kanye’s story is definitely worth the read!

You Loved Me at My Weakest by Evie Harper

5 stars

Emily was taken 5 years ago by Marco and lived her life as a Collection Piece. She was put on display and sold to the highest bidder. She was the shell of the person she was prior. No joy, no happiness, no love. When her brother, Jake, and boyfriend, Kanye, tracked her down and rescued her and Lily in You Loved Me at My Darkest she wasn't sure what would happen when she got home. Sure she expected tears, pain, and hurt but what she got wasn't what she expected.

Kanye had never given up on her. For four years he gave up his life in hopes of finding hers. He's loved her as long as he's known her and his life wasn't worth living without her. She was his everything and he told her repeatedly he'd never give up and he'd never quit fighting for them.

"I'm going to give you time and space. But I'm warning you now, Emmy; you are mine. I will be watching and waiting. I won't lose you again. I will fight for you and if giving you space right now is fighting for you, then that is what I will do. Just know when I fell the time is ready, I'm coming for you, for us."

The nightmare continues for Emily. The pain and the hurt, they rise to the surface and suffocate her. She sees a therapist, takes up photography - she wants to know how others smile through the pain, and she unfortunately finds another way to deal with her pain. Until Kanye catches her. At this point they have a minor breakthrough. She sees how much her hurt is hurting him. He feels the same pain and fear she feels.

"We are an unfinished love song is all, Emmy. God's just working on our next set of lyrics."

As a danger from her past gets close to finding Emily what will she do? Will she retreat into her head? What will Kanye do? Will he let her go again because she thinks that's what's best or will he continue to fight for her, for them?

"I can't. I'm here through thick and thin. I'm here to save that beautiful, bruised soul of yours."

This is the second book in the You Loved Me Series, book 3, You Loved Me at My Ugliest comes out mid 2015. I cannot wait to see what else Evie has in store for these characters. They're tested, pushed, pulled, and tried. I hope you all are as enraptured as I am in this series.

5 Stars!!!

I am happy.

I am loved, greatly

This was an intense and gripping novel. You loved me at my weakest pulled some really powerful emotions from me and it really makes you think about things that you wouldn't normally think about. Every day people survive the bad that happens, but no body really stops to think just how they got their. You loved me at my weakest shows that struggle and how it effects not just the people but everyone around with as well.

We actually get to meet Emily is the first book in the series, You Loved Me At My Darkest. Here she comes across as a bit cold and settled that this is it for her. That's also the mood for the start of this book. However she slowly starts to break out of her shell with the help of family, friends and the love of her life, Kanye; who can all see straight through her lies and fake persona.

Now Kanye, man he is a how different ball game. He never believed that he wouldn't see his 'Emmy' again. What she puts him through to try to 'save' him from herself is just heartbreaking. He is trying to be strong for both of them. yet his heart keeps breaking. I loved Kanye, he really was such a strong man and wouldn't take no for as answer. He went after everything that he wanted.

This story has so much depth to it. I really couldn't put it down towards the end.

It was good to see Lily and Jake again and now that they are still struggling to overcome what has happened to them. Yet are making happy memories too.

Can't wait for the next book in the series now.

Evie sure can drag your heart out and step on it! But I love it!

I was happy with this book. I felt it did justice to the struggle that Emily would have gone through trying to readjust to life again. Finally, someone acknowledged that when you have been violently abused and raped repeatedly, you are not going to jump right back into sex. So thank you Evie for showing that when you are raped you must deal with all kinds of feelings and emotions. Life is not just happy, happy.

Emily is home, saved from 5 years of hell. She is broken, she is cold, she will never be the Emily they knew. Kanye has watched and waited for 5 years. Doing everything he could to get Emmy back. Now she is home and all he wants to do is help her conquer her demons.

Emily is sure the old version of her is gone forever. She is positive no one will ever want her after being used the way she was.

This is a story of Emily's fight through the darkness. Kanye undying devotion and willingness to stand by and do whatever it takes to help. It is surviving through the darkest moments of your life coming out weakened, broken and having someone be your light in the darkness until the darkness doesn't exist anymore.

Really a great read!

Wow what a wonderful story. Emily is finally at home after 5 years but it's not so easy for her. She went through a hell and she didn't believe that she would she her boyfriend and family again. Now that she's back at home, she didn't believe that she could be happy again. She tried her best but sometimes it wasn't enough. My heart broke for her but luckily she had Kanye who didn't give up. I was really happy for Emily at the end. I smiled when Emily smiled.

You Loved Me At My Weakest picks up where it last left off in You Loved Me At My Darkest,it starts out very dark, you will feel all of Emmy's pure hell. Once you get out of the darkness you will get to meet a man named Kanye and he will save you from your heartache like he saved Emmy from hers. The love Kanye has for Emmy is what will make you love this book and feel all of Emmy's pain.

This is book two of the series. This one is focused on Emily's story after she was released after being kidnapped. Emily is Jake's lost sister. Emily's wounds are deep and they hurt badly. Her face is a mask that she keeps on all the time. She doesn't want her family to know how badly damaged she is. She feels worthless, dirty and broken and she wants to be left alone. The trauma of the kidnapping is weighing heavy on her actions like a wet blanket holding her down in moving forward in having a successful relationship feeling so damage.

Kayne loves Emily so much he thought he would never see her again. Emily is his heart and soul she’s his one, and for the five years that she was missing, he never stopped fighting for her and looking for her. His Emmy is lost when she returns to him, but that doesn’t stop him from being a permanent presence in her life and letting her know in no uncertain terms that he isn’t going anywhere. His strength and determination to get Emmy to open up to him is truly remarkable. He never waivers; he never gives up hope that she’ll admit her true feelings for him and stop pushing him away and thinking that he’s better off without her.

I love the story it is powerful and moving to see someone come from hell and find some happiness rooted in love from a man that understands that being gentle, understanding, caring and filling Emily with love. It is a story of recovery of resiliency. I will continue reading the series.

5 years of being beaten

5 years of being treated like a dirty, worthless whore

5 years of losing herself in the pain and darkness because the reality was too much to bear

5 years of becoming a different Emily…in her mind, a weaker one…one who stopped fighting and gave in because it was just easier to allow it to happen and let it be over with quicker

After all of those years as a kidnapped sex slave, there’s no way Emily will ever return to who she was. In her mind, she’s tainted and dirtied. Her soul is scarred, and the damage is irreversible. Freedom isn’t something she can grasp…moving forward is easier said than done. Having a life with the man who saw her as his perfect, beautiful Emmy is not something she can comprehend because she’s not that person anymore, and she’ll never be. Emily feels weak, pathetic, used, and defiled, and she doesn’t know how to release the demons inside of her…the darkness that consumes her and threatens to eat her alive.

You Loved Me At My Weakest is the second book in Evie Harper’s You Loved Me series, and it tells Emily and Kayne’s story. Emily is Jake’s little sister – the person he became part of Marco’s crew for…the person he would never stop fighting for until he had her home and safe. But 5 years of captivity has inflicted an immense amount of damage on Emmy, physically, mentally, and emotionally, so her new lease on life – a life she never thought she would live again is more of a struggle than anything else. The verbal and physical abuse Emmy received at the hands of her captor as well as the men who wanted to “own” a piece of Marco’s collection has scarred her soul and broken not only her body but her mind. She feels weak…she feels damaged…she feels ruined and broken and regardless of what anyone else says to her, she can’t climb out of that dark abyss of negativity, so she does what she needs to do to survive and to allow everyone to move on without her past tainting their future. But everyone sees behind Emmy’s façade of normalcy and vows to stand by her and fight for her when she can’t do it herself, which is exactly what will allow her to take back her control and see herself as something other than weak and worthless.

Emmy’s journey is not an easy one to read. It’s filled with self loathing and excruciating pain. Evie Harper does an amazing job of capturing all of Emmy's self hatred and dark feelings through her first person perspective. It’s heartbreaking to witness Emmy’s struggle and feel just as helpless as Kayne and her family to help her to see that she’s not the things she thinks she is. But it’s also important for Evie not to sugar coat anything and to illustrate the darkness that has stowed away inside of Emmy. The Emily that was created inside that hellish world of the Collection is extremely difficult to break free from, and Emmy is coping the best way she knows how; of course it’s not the way those on the outside want her to cope, but they weren’t there; they didn’t endure the torture and abuse for 5 long years, so it’s not going to be on their timeline but on her own and who truly knows what it’s going to take to break her free from those chains that were latched around her mind and soul as a sex slave.

Kayne – Emily is his heart and soul – she’s his one, and for the five years that she was missing, he never stopped fighting for her and looking for her.

You Loved Me At My Weakest is a story of a young woman who has been stripped of her self worth at the hands of the devil and struggles to purge herself of the filthy words that absorb her mind due to her captors’ mistreatment. It’s a story about a woman at her weakest finding the strength to endure even when she feels like she doesn’t hold the power to do so. It’s a story about a man fighting for the woman he loves, every step of the way, never failing to show her, her self worth and the love he feels for her.

It’s a beautifully written story that will tear readers’ hearts apart and slowly put them back together as they walk with Emmy and Kayne through the darkness and find the strength to carry on and smile again despite everything that’s been taken from them.

Evie Harper gives us the second book in the You Loved Me Series where the emotions run so deep and wild, it's like she's ripping your heart out with each chapter!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

"They loved Emily so much. I wish I could bring her back for them. But she’s buried too deep. Under cemented hate and evil words."

Emily has just been rescued and doesn't feel worthy of her family any longer. She looks at herself and hates what she sees. To her she is damaged goods. Five years of abuse in every way possible has broken her in every aspect. It's heartbreaking being inside of her head. Hearing the names she was called, and feeling her despair in her moments of weakness. She is shattered, but even through the cracks you see how strong she really is. I swear it was like she was trapped inside of her body, screaming out silently for someone to save her while telling the people who love her she's fine. She's very fragile and hides behind her I'm okay's as she pushes everyone away.

“My heart is broken, Emmy, broken for having been without you for even a second in this fucked-up life God thought he had to test us with. But mostly, my heart is broken because I can see how much pain you’re in. I can never understand why you’re doing this to us, to me, but I love you regardless. I always will. Nothing you say will ever have me backing away from you. Moving on,”—he huffs out an annoyed laugh—“ there is no moving on from you, Emmy. You are mine and I am yours. No matter how many nights apart we have endured and will endure, that will never change.”

Kayne is a beautiful creature inside and out. He is emotionally raw and open at all times. You never wonder if his feelings are true are not because he is that genuine. His love for Emily is unrelenting and never ending, no matter the circumstance or situation. This man is the man I would want to fall in love with me. To have someone love you so fiercely, pass your own insecurities and flaws, someone who doesn't mind being vulnerable for you is simply breathtaking. Kayne fights constantly for not only him, but Emily, for what they had, and what they could have. And having witnessed it, I can honestly say it was one of the top most beautiful things I have ever experienced, felt, and seen written.

“You will leave. You will leave. You will leave. And then I won’t have a soul at all.”
“I love you. I love you. I love you. I’ll save your soul.”

This book will make you smile, without even realizing it. It will make you cry, but you won't notice it until the tears are steadily running down you cheeks, over your lips and underneath your chin. From page one you feel and you take a journey full of heart aching pain. But what I love the most about this story is that the emotion never dies down. It constantly flows on high alert, simmering in your very being.

You Loved Me At My Weakest is a story about survival, about learning to live again, about taking back what was taken from you and rebuilding your life, but most of all, about finding yourself worthy of a love that transcends time.

"I am Emily Roberts. I am a survivor. I am happy. I am loved, greatly."

I just finished You Loved me at my Weakest and I just loved it!! This is a series so to get the full effect of the characters you will need to read You Loved Me at my Darkest first. That one is about Jake and Lily. Jake rescued Lily at the hands of a mad man while trying to find his sister Emily. We saw their story now it's time for Emily's. She is a broken woman now. She was with Marco for several years enduring the worse that you could think it wasn't so much Marco but it's Donovan. The man that bought her each time he was able too. He is a very abusive man, she got the worse of it when he was around. She is safe back home now and is trying to move on with her life. Kayne her boyfriend from before is trying to help her, understands that she has to heal but wants her back....she is the love of his life. However, Emily is not the same person. She has so much darkness in her, so much self doubt and is very insecure that she feels that if he is in her life in any way, she will bring not only him but her family down. But Donovan is on the move trying to find her to get her back. Will she be healed? Will Donovan get her back? You will just have to read and see!

Wow! Just wow! This is so what I was hoping for and then some. The plot, the characters, hell and everything in between is just on point. I'm am just amazed with how this series is, Miss Evie you are a force to be reckoned with! No doubt about that!!! This story will have your heart breaking. I'm mean you kinda know what happens from the first story....oh no...you have no clue what was done but once you do, no matter the good or the bad things that happen, you will be hooked from the get go and you will not want to put it down. Trust me!

I'm excited for what is to come. Joseph and Alexa I believe are next. I can just imagine what's to come but I can tell you it will be one hell of a ride!!!
