FOUR SWEET STARS.

description

Tessa Teevan just took my heart for a spin, from heart break to redemption 'Sweet southern sorrow' is a book that is simply memorable. Everything about this book was romance personified and I'm hoping that Tessa Teevan has a whole lot of love for writing still left in her because I don't want to ever stop adding her books to my shelves. Dreamy, heart felt and full of emotion this book will take you on a journey of two hearts that will make you feel like anything is possible when it comes to love ...

What's it all about?
Sawyer Callahan and Cheyenne Hamilton met one unforgettable summer, falling in love was easy, being torn apart was unforgettably heart breaking. Six years apart and Sawyer and Cheyenne are about to unexpectedly met again. But with the ghosts of the past, bitterness, and heart break against them will they be able to find their way home again to each other?

What did I love?
What a sweet, truly adorable tale of love Tessa Teevan has pulled together. In this story we get present day story telling and flashbacks of the past all in one deliciously, cute-as-can-be novel. There were parts of this story that made my heart melt, there were parts where my heart broke and there were times when I fell in love right alongside the characters. This author really has a way of making her readers connect with the characters she creates, her story telling and writing style is engaging and heartfelt and I was hooked on this story right from page one. This book is a real joy to escape with I loved the nostalgic feel of looking back into the characters experience of falling in love for the first time and the setting up of a reunion of epic second chance proportions. Sawyer and Cheyenne were a dreamy couple to be introduced to, everything about the story telling from the love to the romance was dreamy even the tears and the heartbreak was so wonderfully written that it never felt overbearing or troubling. I read this addictive story in almost one sitting and after I'd finished I simply wanted more.

description

Why not five?
Tessa Teevan is an author who delivers on her content, usually she writes book that are a little more lengthy than 'Sweet Southern Sorrow' so I think I missed the fullness of story telling. The book is split into past and present for my reading tastes I felt I simply wanted more of each perspective. But don't be mistaken Tessa Teevan writes gorgeous books with relatable characters and I'm a firm fan.

Heart-melting, sweet and full of emotion 'sweet southern sorrow' is a book reading experience that I'll treasure. Tessa Teevan is an author who writes from the heart, her books are a treat to escape with and I can't wait for more from this series. Go add this book to your 'to be read' shelves readers. I picked this one up because Tessa is one of my favorite authors and didn’t read the blurb first, so imagine my surprise when I read this line.

"Sawyer Callahan. First love. Taker of my virtue. Breaker of my heart. And last but not least, my stepbrother.”

I won’t lie I was pretty hooked at that line, but this isn’t really a taboo book as Sawyer and Cheyenne met before their parents married, and they were both adults.

It all started the summer before Cheyenne’s fist year of college. She was laying down by the lake when she was interrupted and accused of trespassing. Sawyer Callahan was already attending The University of Auburn and was sent to stay with his uncle as a punishment for his poor academic performance. What started out as a punishment turned into the best summer of his life.

Sawyer and Cheyenne immediately hit it off and became friends. Sawyer's dad is always traveling for work and Cheyenne’s mom is off on her latest attempt to land a rich husband. So they turn to each other, throughout the summer their connection grows and they fall in love. Neither knows where things are going since she is supposed to attend Berkley in the fall and he is going back to Auburn.

Regardless of their plans or what they want to happen things fall apart when her mother comes home announcing she has gotten married. Insisting Cheyenne join her mother and new stepfather for dinner she gets more then she bargained for when Sawyer shows up too. This is the end of the beginning, because Cheyenne leaves Georgia immediately goes to California.

Six years go by and they never see or hear about each other, until Cheyenne moves back to Atlanta for a job.

Sawyer Callahan her first love, is her new boss. Cheyenne doesn’t know what to do, she knows they can’t be together but she has never moved on from him either. Sawyer is shocked to finally see Cheyenne again and he wants to find out what happened, why she just up and left only leaving a note behind.

I absolutely loved this story about first love and second chances. This story pulled me in immediately and I was hooked. Their innocent meeting and falling in love as teenagers, to coming back together as adults. While their connection as step-siblings is not really relevant since their parents married after they were adults, it is still something most people would turn their nose up at. He is her boss at work and the sexual tension…basically I was all over this forbidden love.

This is a super quick read. It has moments of heat, but is also one of the sweetest stories I have read. It is the perfect light read when you are looking for a break from the angst and darker books.

Cheyenne Hamilton aka Pretty Girl/Birdie is an eighteen year old girl spending her last summer at home before heading off to college to start her freshman year at Berkeley in California. Cheyenne grew up in a small town in Georgia called Shiloh Grove. Since her father passed away when she was little, she has kind of lived a sad, lonely life. Her father was everything to her, and the person in her life that always made her feel loved. Her mother is a self centered woman who really only cares about her own happiness.

 photo 6e65371c-0f88-4a3e-b1c4-14ee06b8a102.jpg

Cheyenne is counting down the days till she can leave town, and get away from her mother, until one day while at the lake she runs into a gorgeous college boy named Sawyer Callahan aka City Boy. Cheyenne really enjoys Sawyer's company, and they start to meet evenings back at the dock. They spend all their time together, and begin to fall for each other. For the first time in forever Cheyenne feels truly loved and happy.

 photo 11cf181c-4ce2-46f7-9c1c-5f0f59074bcf.jpg

Sawyer is a twenty year old guy that attends Auburn University. His grades were falling, so his dad sends him to stay with his uncle Wyatt for the summer. His dad feels it will do him some good to work on the farm, and learn some responsibility. Sawyer lost his mother when he was young, and also feels somewhat alone as Cheyenne does.

 photo 9caa8cf5-287a-432c-b4d0-633f970b42cf.jpg

By the end of their summer romance they are both head over heels in love, and have something really special. Suddenly their relationship becomes complicated, and Cheyenne breaks both their hearts when she takes off for school early. She feels she is doing the right thing, and what is best for both of them.

 photo e6fd1ae8-7899-4c66-97f1-edddf14ce362.jpg

They don't see each other for the next six years, and then their paths collide. Cheyenne never thought she'd see the boy again who captured her heart that summer. She tried to forget him, but was miserable without him. After all these years they were never able to get over each other. They've both dated others, and know what they had together can never be duplicated. They realize they still own each others hearts, and want to be together. They really share something beautiful, and after all this time are still each others home.

Again Tessa Teevan has written another fantastic book! Her writing is perfection! She has quickly become one of my favorite authors, and I can't wait to read more from her! This was a beautiful story of second chance love. The guy was extremely hot & sexy, but also swoon worthy sweet. Just a great guy! Thought the book was fabulous, and I can't wait for Bryan & Cori's story!!! :))

-I feel his breath on my ear as he leans down. "What I wouldn't give to be inside your...head, Ms. Hamilton. I do believe you're blushing at whatever you're thinking of," he whispers.

-I few weeks ago I'd probably turn red at his reminder of the first time he touched me, but he's done it so many times since then that I can memorize the way he touches me every time.

-"Come on, city boy," I say, breaking our kiss as my hands run down his back, stopping just above his ass. "I'm throwing caution to the wind tonight."

 photo 2f9fee91-f9a3-4ddf-b08c-a40dc21944cb.jpg

-The slow, sleepy, sexy smile that spreads over his face causes my heart to do backflips, and I'm wishing I could wake up to this sight every single day.

-I'm not the same stupid kid I was back then. I won't give up what I want so easily this time around.

 photo 6f547ab1-af67-455b-b12e-a4cae81d7cc8.jpg

-Every night after you left, you were the star in my dreams. I swear, I could see you. All I had to do was close my eyes and the sight of your smile, your tanned skin, your freckled face would appear out of nowhere. And then I could feel you.

-My arms will always be open, as will my heart. You came back to me, and I'm never letting you go.

-"It's you, baby, it's always been you."

 photo 7b48e8fd-b552-4185-9607-3548728c56a1.jpg

-I've been looking for home for a long time, only to realize that I already knew where it was the whole time.

-My pretty girl, my little swallow, finally found her wings, and came flying back to me. She's home, right where she belongs.

****5 Sweet Southern Sawyer Love Stars****

SSS_1

I swear Tessa Teevan must have like a secret recipe when it comes to writing romance. Seriously, she has perfected which ingredients to use when it comes to creating a perfect love story. And it seems like she never gets tired in producing these sweet creations. And Sweet Southern Sorrow is just another example of the many mouth-watering books Tessa has to offer. This book will leave readers begging more for a slice of Sawyer Callahan. Forget a slice...I just want Sawyer Callahan all to myself. Tessa~ Can I have Sawyer? All I can say is that Sweet Southern Sorrow had a perfect blend of ingredients. If I were to guess Tessa’s secret recipe to Sweet Southern Sorrow, I would have to say it consisted 2lbs of love, a pinch of humor, 1lb of sweetness, 3 tablespoons angst, 2 spoonfuls of broken past, 1 cup of friendship, 1 zest of tenderness, and ¾ cups of second chances. Mix all those ingredients up and you got yourself a love story!!

SSS_3.5

Sweet Southern Sorrow is about one unforgettable summer that changed the lives of Cheyenne Hamilton and Sawyer Callahan. Sigh...young love!!! It was a summer of first love, friendship, and sadly heartbreak. Six years has passed, and it seems destiny and fate has plans for Sawyer and Cheyenne to cross paths. Unresolved answers, painful memories, and love soon begins to resurface. Can two broken hearts mend? Will Saywer and Cheyenne have a shot at a second chance and find a way back to each other’s heart? Or is the hurt to painful to forgive?

I love and adore Sweet Southern Sorrow. It was one of those books that left you smiling. I loved that Tessa was able to bring her readers down memory lane when Sawyer and Cheyenne first fell in love. She was able to tie in the past and present perfectly where the storyline flowed at a natural pace. The storyline was heartfelt and touching. The characters were honest and real. The emotions were raw. The book was just pure LOVE and TENDERNESS!! Sawyer and Cheyenne’s story was another prime example of first love and last love. It truly showcase two individuals who loved each other wholeheartedly and it was one of those loves you can't forget. It brought a smile to my face to see after so many years apart, Sawyer and Cheyenne's love for each other remained constant. They were each other’s favorite hello, and each other’s hardest goodbye.

“One swallow takes you from me, and two will bring you back. As long as you have the swallow, forever we won’t lack. And in the spring, when swallows appear, I’ll always know that you are near.”

Sweet Southern Sorrow was a beautiful second chance romance. Going from past to present from both Sawyer and Cheyenne’s pov, you go on their journey of love, loss, friendship and forgiveness.

Cheyenne Hamilton will never forget the summer before she started college. The summer she turned 18. The summer she fell in love with a city boy. That summer changed both Cheyenne and Sawyer’s lives forever. It started as an innocent friendship, but grew to be much more. Circumstances out of their control tore the couple apart. Decisions were made. Hearts were broken. Six years had passed. Then fate brought them together once again.

Cheyenne took a leap and moved back to her home state of Georgia with her two best friends and college roommates for an incredible job opportunity. She never expected her boss to be her first love, Sawyer Callahan. Lots of time has past, but Sawyer has never forgotten about Cheyenne. About the summer they spent together.

 photo e18cdcc5-b51b-4fd3-9953-8843561cb284_zpsec4a3b30.jpg

Sawyer and Cheyenne are determined to be able to work together. They both try to put their old hurts and feelings aside and be professional, but it’s not easy. Especially when all the old memories start to resurface. I absolutely adored all the flashbacks to the past. Sawyer was the sweetest guy!
“There’s one thing I’ll miss most of all,”

“Oh, yeah. What’s that?”

“You Sawyer Callahan. More than the stars in the sky, more than whiskey in the lemonade, more than the peaceful sounds of nothing but nature, I’m going to miss you, city boy.”

“I’m going to miss the hell out of you too, pretty girl.”

 photo d2a48cbf-e63e-4bcb-8a00-5cde7aafa089_zpsdd910273.jpg

Can you ever just go from being in love to being just colleagues, just friends? Sawyer wants more, but Cheyenne is hesitant. There are things that forced them apart that still worry her. Her evil mother being one of them. Will these two be able to move forward together- rekindle their romance despite the obstacles and heartache?

Tessa writes the best men. They are the perfect mix of sweet, sexy and alpha. Sawyer stole the book for me. I did like Cheyenne’s character, too. She frustrated me at times, but I could completely understand where she was coming from. This story was beautiful. After reading, I had a huge smile on my face. If your looking for a great friends to lovers/second chance romance, I would highly recommend giving this a go!

“You are my swallow. You’re my home. A pretty girl once told me that swallows mate for life, and that they always find their way back to each other. For the longest time, I didn’t believe it. But then you walked back into my life, and my faith was restored.”

FIVE SWEET FOR SAWYER STARS!!!!
BR with Melissa

(ARC Generously Provided By Author in Exchange for an Honest Review)

Absolutely LOVED this story!!
Tessa has done it again!
I'm sure this will be a HIT!!!
One of my favorite types of stories is about "Second Chance Love"!

"Sweet Southern Sorrow" is the story of Sawyer Callahan (city boy) and Cheyenne Hamilton (pretty girl).
Cheyenne and Sawyer meet the summer before she is to go off to start her Freshman year at Berkley in California.
Sawyer is working on his Uncle Wyatt's farm.
He's sent there as punishment for not keeping up with his studies at Auburn University.
This actually turns out to be a blessing as he meets the one true love of his life.

 photo image_zps7089b0a0.jpg

Cheyenne and Sawyer seem to have a lot in common.
They both have lost a beloved parent and are left with a surviving parent who does not have the ability to give love or be nurturing in any capacity.
They're both two lost and lonely souls.

 photo image_zps2f98a20e.jpg

The two grow closer as they spend every day together on Uncle Wyatt's farm.

 photo tumblr_mg9fs0OtXZ1ri2c7ko1_500_zps0e0eea1f.gif

A week before Cheyenne is to go off to college, she leaves unexpectedly, without saying goodbye.
Sawyer is just left with a letter.

We find out early on in the story that Sawyer turns out to be her Step Brother.
His father and her mother ran off and married during the same time that they were falling in love with each other.

Now 6 years have gone by.
Cheyenne and her two best friends from college are moving to Atlanta for a job with Wellsley Enterprises.
And destiny plays her hand as it turns out Sawyer is her new boss.

It is obvious that neither have forgotten that summer and the heart break from it is still very fresh for the both of them.
The angst of the story is waiting for Sawyer and Cheyenne to find their way back to each other and to somehow get over the pain from their past.

I loved the story of the swallows, and how they mate for life.

"One swallow takes you from me, and two will bring you back. As long as you have the swallow, forever we won't lack. And in the spring, when the swallows appear, I'll always know that you are near."

This story had it all and I was hooked from page one.
Sawyer is definitely a top book boyfriend contender.
His unwavering love for Cheyenne will sweep you off your feet.

The epilogue was perfect!!

I don't want to give the story away so as not to ruin anyone's experience reading it.

All I can say is I truly LOVED this story.
I fell very hard for Sawyer and this was definitely a 5 Star read for me!!

I would recommend this to anyone who loves stories of first love, and the rarity of getting that second chance at love with your "one and only". :)

"Someone once told me swallows are together for life, and I've been holding onto that belief for a long damn time. Fate, the universe, whatever bullshit you want to believe in, Cheyenne. Whatever the hell it was, it brought you back to me and I'm not giving up without a fight this time."

I have no idea how he did it, but he got inside my heart, dug in deep, and I'm not sure how I'm going to let him go, or if I'm even going to be able to.

"How many times do I have to tell you, pretty girl? I remember everything."

"I've been looking for home for a long time, only to realize that I already knew where it was the whole time. You could've slammed the door in my face, but instead, you greeted me with open arms. Like you were just waiting for me to return. I don't know if I deserve it, but I'm going to make sure that I earn it from now on."

I just have to say that Tessa is getting better and better with each book she writes. I look forward to her future works. I know she gets me as a reader.

I love second chance romance stories.

 photo heart-back_zps6fe6de09.gif

This one a sweet short story about Sawyer and Cheyenne. They met the summer before Cheyenne was leaving to go to California. They became friends and eventually lovers. They thought they knew what they had planned for their life so it was supposed to be only temporary. Then they fell in love. There were a few outside forces that made Cheyenne leave Sawyer without telling him goodbye.

6 years later and Cheyenne has moved home and guess who her new boss is? Of course it's Sawyer.

I don't want to give too much away, but I really enjoyed this book. I love that Tessa does not write weak annoying females. I like that there isn't a ton of angst.
This book is sweet, hot, and left me smiling from ear to ear. It was my kind of book!

OH and the author threw in a song that not many people know and it melted me. Y'all know I'm a music junkie. This song sealed the deal in this book:

4 SWEET STARS

Release date: 14 April 2014
POV – Both
HEA -
Part of a 12 book release from 12 Authors coming in April 2014 –
Here is the goodreads link: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

This book is about second chance at first love.

This story is of Cheyenne Hamilton and Sawyer Callahan. They met during the summer of 2008 at a lake and they fell madly in love.

Cheyenne just finished school and is spending her last summer before heading to College in San Francisco. Cheyenne doesn’t have the best life after loosing her father 10 years ago. Her mother is absent from her life and just plain horrible. Cheyenne’s Mother should definitely win WORST MOTHER OF THE YEAR AWARD ! I’m just glad that I never had a mom like her as I also lost my dad at the age of 9.

Sawyer father sent him to his Uncle’s farm for the Summer to work. Sawyer is so sweet and the perfect man.

At the end of the Summer of 2008 Cheyenne had to make a decision that would impact both their lives. She thought she did him a favour. Will this be the right decision?

This book alternates between past (2008) and future (2014).

The book goes back and forth between 2008 and 2014. I’m not a big fan of books going past and future but it does give you insight of why she left when she left in 2008.
Six Years later they meet again. Will they be able to work things out?

Sawyer is trying to win her back but she won’t make it easy for him.

Favourite Quotes / Lines

Swayer Callahan is her first love, taker of my virtue, breaker of my heart and last but not least…. you would have to read the story to find out what the last word is Sorry :)

One swallow takes you from me, and two will bring you back.

I’d say he’s sex on a stick, but that term is way too over used
Who wants sex on a stick.

That phrase makes me think of a pencil dick, and nothing about that turns me on
hahahahahahaha

I don’t know how or when it happened, and I don’t care. I fell in love with you this summer Cheyenne.

Life brought us back together and I’ll never let anything tear us apart again

This is my Sawyer Callahan

5 Sweet Tearstained Stars!
ARC received from the author for an honest review

***SSS will release as a solo book on June 20 with bonus scenes!***

If you’re looking for a good romance story with a mixture of fun, sweet, emotions, and lovable characters, Tessa Teevan never fails to deliver! I have read her first 2 full-length novels and loved both, and this short story is no different!

I am a huge fan of second-chance romances. That is basically the only drama I can embrace with open arms. Then taboo relationships (office romances, student-teacher especially) and it doesn’t hurt if there’s a good age difference too. SSS is a good second-chance, “years after” love story.

Sweet Southern Sorrow, although overall short and a quick read, it still packs that “oomph!” that hits you in your heart. I sure felt it. Not even past 1% and I was crying, I did not expect that to happen at all. I know I expected this to be sweet and that I’ll love Sawyer, but I was not prepared to be crying at 2:30am! Tessa amazingly wrote Sawyer and Cheyenne’s story that makes me want for more. I want more.

Their story started one summer, both felt alone, quite lost, and they found each other. They found comfort, strength, company, and love. And then it ended because of rash decisions and well, because they’re both young and thought it was for the best. It was heartbreaking reading what led to their separation, but it was a sweet feeling when they found each other again.

The symbolism of the swallow in this book is brilliant. It fits the story perfectly.
(Maybe I should get a swallow tattoo, too? Hmm. That’s an idea.)

Sweet Southern Sorrow is a heartwarming read, it will make you smile, make you hurt, and will probably make you mad too. But most importantly, you’ll love Sawyer and you will root for his and Cheyenne’s love story!

Stars: 5 stars!
Recommended to: Second-chance romance lovers like me. Wants a good, sweet read.
POV: First person. Dual POV.
Series: Yes. Standalone.
Cliffhanger: No.

Do you like the deer-in-the-headlights heroine, with the doe eyes and low self esteem? Does that annoying chick work your hole? Yeah? MINE TOO!!!!!!!

So, if you like ball buster chicks who know their worth, their value, their wants and soul mate then this author is a SURE THING!! Though she has been able to do an amazing job making each of her heroines unique in their stories she has managed to make me fall in love with them all. I adore the independence she portrays with her heroines regardless of the fact that they may be damaged and have struggled to survive the large servings of shit-sandwiches life has served them.

Her Hero's have a few common threads: they are all HOOOOTTT, southern mannered & determined when they fall for the girl. They NEVER get old to read and fall in love with. Sawyer is NO exception.

In S3 we meet Cheyenne, the country girl, who falls for Sawyer, the city boy. It's a slow organic love story that builds beautifully. Their struggle is unique in that their catalyst is the fact that their parents wed without their knowledge forcing them to be step siblings. It's a brave topic to tackle and I LOVE how it was done.

This is short read that even though it's fast paced, it doesn't feel rushed. You get plenty of depth and understanding in the characters. Teevan has once again knocked it out of the park. Kudos & Props!!!

I was honored to be given an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 Stars and a Whiskey Lemonade Toast to the Author

I thoroughly enjoyed Tessa Teevan’s marvelous short story from the Southern Seduction box set. The myth of the “swallow,” the little bird who returns every year in the spring was refreshingly unique and set an emotional and touching tone for an unforgettable second chance at love trope. The use of Brantley Gilbert’s “Fall Into Me” as the musical backdrop in this plot doubled as an additional perk. Truly this is an all around gem to be savored and treasured.

When a sexy and sweet “City Boy” meets a sassy and headstrong “Pretty Girl” from the country, nothing is ever going to be the same again. Sawyer Callahan and Cheyenne Hamilton are amazingly well-developed characters who will steal your heart as you watch them fall in love over the summer and then are broken apart by forces beyond their control. Six years pass before they come face-to-face again quite by accident. Love for each other still burns in their hearts, and it doesn’t take long before they admit that this time nothing will tear them apart. Of course, that determination is challenged once again by those same wicked forces from the past.

Alternating between past and present and told in dual POVs, the story spans a timeline of six years. And along the way, readers will enjoy a secondary cast filled with characters you love to hate and those who lift your spirits and leave you smiling.

A few minor editing glitches throughout but overall, the author gives readers a very well-written and enticing story. Fun-to-read from start to finish – and highly recommended.

All books start out a three star for me and then either the stars rise or they fall! With this book sadly... they fell. I had a really hard time connecting with this one, I'm not a big fan of second chance romances but I do occasionally find a decent one that I enjoy. This sadly didn't do it for me. I didn't like most of the characters especially Cheyenne. Now let me just say that this review is based solely on the first half of the book and Cheyenne's actions as I stated skimming after. Soz - couldn't take... anymore.. of her.

Cheyenne - I read other reviews and she was labelled as 'beautiful heroine' but to me she just wasn't. I found her completely selfish and I hated that she punished Sawyer by leaving him and then still continued to punish him six years down the line when he, like an idiot, was the one pursuing her! I was like "why? why? why?" Why do you like her? Why do you want to talk to her? She left without a goodbye? She hasn't even apologised, or had the decency to explain why she left! Why are you pursuing her? Why? Why? Why?

Sawyer - Liked him, he was too good for her, wanted him to get over it and find someone else. Enough said. My hate for her was that strong!

I'm not even gonna tough the other characters cause frankly I could care less!

"My heart stops when I see him. Sawyer Callahan, the boy who led to my broken heart, the one I've tried to forget for so long, the one I never thought I'd see again..."

Cheyenne Hamilton was raised a daddy's girl. She never thought she would be without him. Then, one day she found out he wasn't coming home again. Not only did she lose her father, but her mother as well. Her mother became someone she didn't know, and Cheyenne knew she would never be the same. She counted down until she was able to go off to college and get away from Shiloh Grove, Georgia for good.

The only problem to her plan came the summer before she left for college in California. Her problem came in the form of a brown-haired, green-eyed boy that was only in town for the summer. She doesn't want romance. She doesn't want to stay in her hometown. She wants out. But sometimes, your mind and your heart are saying two different things.

Sawyer Callahan is helping his uncle on his farm to learn some more responsibilty (per his father) before he starts his junior year of college. He didn't want to be there, but he did like to hear stories about his late mother from his uncle. Just when he thought his summer would be a bust, he spots a beautiful, blonde-haired beauty asleep on his uncle's land. He had no idea how much his life was about to change.

The summer of Cheyenne and Sawyer's romance couldn't have been more perfect.
Too bad perfect is hard to hold onto.

"Our eyes lock, and holy f**k, it really is her. The first girl, the only girl, I've ever loved is staring right back at me."

After six years away, Cheyenne travels back to Georgia. Not for her mother, but for a new job. She also brings along her best friends from California, Cori and Bryan. She walks in on her first day on the job ready to start the next chapter in her life. Too bad it's just a flashback to the chapter she wanted to forget, but never could.

Sawyer never expected to see Cheyenne again. He really didn't expect to see her working in the same place the he was either. But there she was once again. His pretty girl was back. Are second chances worth taking?

One of my favorite things about this story was the flashbacks. I love the way it went back in time with Cheyenne and Sawyer. You saw how strong their love was when they were young, and you saw how much they couldn't deny still feeling the same way years later.

"Someone once told me that swallows are together for life, and I've been holding on to that belief for a long damn time. Fate, the universe, whatever bullshit you want to believe in, Cheyenne. Whatever the hell it was, it brought you back to me and I'm not giving up without a fight this time."

Oh my goodness! Sawyer had a way with words and I don't know how Cheyenne could stay away from him! These two had a romance that was left in limbo. Not knowing if they would ever see each other again, they continued on with their lives. I like when love happens at just the right time. Even if it's a rekindled love. They had so much stacked against them. Between family, long distance and doubt, you wanted to fight right along with them.

I loved this book from start to finish! From the hotness of the city boy to the innocence of the pretty girl, this book had it all! Another great read from Tessa Teevan!

Love Tessa Teevan!
This book is about second chances and you will fall in love with Sawyer the minute he is introduced in the book. He's a son of a banker and just happens to be at the right time at the right place when he meets Cheyenne.

They first laid eyes on each other at Sawyer's uncle Wyatt's farm where he had to work for the summer. The whole summer they have or they tried to have a no strings attached kind arrangement. Cheyenne being the naive 18 year old wants to experience how it would feel to be intimate with someone. She doesn't want to go to college a virgin, so she decides to let Sawyer do the honor.

They both become inseparable almost the entire summer until one day, her mom decides to do the only thing she's good at. Cheyenne's mom only cares about herself. It's sad because Cheyenne is the only child and with her dad being gone, she has no one.

Sawyer and Cheyenne fall in love, but with everything that is going on around them, it isn't the right time to be together. Cheyenne always believed in the swallow bird...

Sweet Southern Sorrow is one emotional read that was beyond expectation!
This book was so emotional, genuine, heartbreaking and joyous and such a phenomenal read that was so chock-full of sentiments that a box of tissues is a definite requirement.
Cheyenne and Sawyer were beautifully written, so full of character emotions with a lot going on behind the scenes with the two of them! Strong and independent who have endured many of life's hardships. The love that is portrayed in the book for Cheyenne and Sawyer jumps out of the pages at you and leaves you breathless. It's absolutely heartbreaking what Cheyenne endures, not only the loss of her Father but also the abandonment by her selfish Mother, has her growing up before her time in so many ways.
The emotional tug of war that ultimately tears them apart will have you feeling their loss and despair.

Their unexpected reunion after five years apart is exceptionally written which brings to the forefront even deeper emotions and genuine heartfelt moments with crucial history between the characters that cannot be ignored.
An unexpected, ultimate confrontation with her Mother will leave you in a tail spin. However, Sawyer and Cheyenne's reunion doesn't stop there, with even more surprises that will have you jumping for joy for both Cheyenne and Sawyer.
An absolute five star read!

I read this as part of the Southern Seduction Box Set, and it was my favorite of all the books incorporated! It was great reading about how Sawyer and Cheyenne's love developed over time. So romantic! I thought the issue between them and their parents was going to make this a really awkward book and creep me out too much, but it ended up working out great and I loved the results! This aspect of the book was revealed before I got the feel of what kind of person Cheyenne's mother was and how Sawyer and Cheyenne's relationship progressed. There were a bunch of funny moments that made me burst out with laughter. The people around me while I was reading gave me questioning glances when I came upon those moments of laughter. One of the lines is "I'm about two pencil skirts away from a sexual harassment complaint." Too funny! I was a little insulted when Cheyenne talked about her being behind in the sex world at 18. I guess that shows my old fashioned side. I liked how it flipped back and forth between past and present times, although I think I would've preferred a little bit more time in the present setting. It was great how it bounced back and forth between the main characters' point of views, as well. Overall, this was a five star read that was hard to put down and I fully recommend it!

Sweet Southern Sorrow is a romance…one of the sweetest romance…stories I’ve read. Sawyer, hot city boy, met Cheyenne, a sweet southern girl, while working on his uncle’s farm for the summer. An instant attractions followed by the best summer of their lives ended in heartbreak. Now, six years later they met when Cheyenne begins her first job after graduating from college. They battle their attraction for one another, Cheyenne more so than Sawyer. Watching Sawyer and Cheyenne fall in love, find their way back and the reason they lost each other in the first place, is a ride that will have you laughing, crying (I even ugly cried) and warm your soul. Every girl needs a Sawyer in their life. He’s all man with a loving, beautiful heart.
Tessa hit another homerun with Sweet Southern Sorrow. The progression of the story between the past and present is well written and easy to follow. I really enjoy the looks back to the summer they met. Her writing allows you to live through the characters and the emotions they experience. This is a definite must read. I promise you won’t regret.

Tessa has done it again! I loved this book plus it is a second chance romance. Who doesn't love those? I was totally sucked in to Cheyenne and Sawyers story. I could not put the book down till I was finished. The love Cheyenne and Sawyer have was something they both could never forget. Sawyer has definitely been added to my book boyfriend list... He is such a genuine, HOT, good guy.... Did I mention hot??! Cheyenne is such a independent character who went though a lot but she survived it all and came out so strong. Her mother Sylvia is AWFUL! There was so much pain and angst in the book but Tessa did such a good job with the flow of it all. The story was written perfectly with detail even with it being a shorter read and fast paced it never felt rushed.
I can not wait to read the rest of the books in this box set!
Great job Tessa, another amazing book!

I was privileged to read Sweet Southern Sorrow by Tessa Teevan.
This was a fantastic read!! Full of love, laughs, and a lot of fun.

This is about two wonderful people that couldn't help but fall in love with each other. However, for some reason, they broke up and were heartbroken. Years later, they meet up again. This time, instead of laughs and love, they see each other as the one that caused them a lot of pain and heartbreak.

Their story is an amazing read. It had me pulled in and hooked from the start. The characters are so realistic, that I could see them in my life. This was a great book!! I personally want this anthology myself. And for the price, I can't help but scream for this amazing story.

Blurb:
Parting has never been such sweet sorrow, at least not for Sawyer Callahan and Cheyenne Hamilton.

One summer forever changed the lives of Sawyer Callahan and Cheyenne Hamilton. Two very lonely people found solace in one another and in the end, fell in love. Unfortunately their plans for the fall took them in entirely different directions. Despite their best efforts, family issues and life’s circumstances got in the way, breaking both of their hearts in the process.

Almost six years later they find themselves face-to-face, and old feelings resurface. When the past collides with the present, will they be able resist the temptation, or will they finally realize that they’re where they’re meant to be?

I fell in love with Tessa's writing with Ignite, Inflame, and Incinerate. Sweet Southern Sorrow is just as beautifully written in a very different way. We have moved away from military guys (who we all love dearly) to a business man. Cheyenne and Sawyer have an extensive history that draws you in. The past and the present collide and like in her previous books an explosive relationship is developed and their love rekindle. Tessa keep it up, you have serious talent and it should be shared with all.

4 "PRETTY GIRL/CITY BOY" STARS

This was a quick, shorter, but great read! Tessa did it again with her book of second chance love, and showing how sometimes you need to let what you love go, so it will come back to you.

I really like the swallow references in this book, and how it tied everything together. This book has great main characters, great a good story line, angst, hot scenes, funny lines and great "side kicks" as I like to call em! :)

Everything from this author is always great. She will always be a one-click for me! :)
