Den of Sin #8

Debauching The Virgin

Rate this book
The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

Amelia Washington is a successful matchmaker to the rich with two failed engagements under her belt.

Amelia hasn’t had a man in her bed since she called a personal moratorium on relationships, and she’s been itching for a mattress tussle. She accepts an offer from The Den's kink orchestrator to pick a sexual companion for a week. Her temporary lover has a quick wit, lust for adventure and pure sexual magnetism. He’s perfect for a short, hot affair that leaves emotions out of the equation. He’s also willing to let her teach him how to please a woman. She’s bossy, high-handed and a bit uptight. How can she refuse?

Dwayne Blackstone is twenty-seven-year-old virgin.

He’s spent most of his adult life isolated, flying search and rescue missions as a bush pilot. When he has a brush with death, he’s determined to finally live his life to the fullest. The first step is definitely to lose his virginity. He wants Amelia to show him the art of seduction. She knows what she wants, and he’s a quick study. It’s not long before the student surpasses the teacher, and the simple but intimate experience turns into more than learning what makes Amelia moan.

The week they agreed to be lovers simply isn’t enough.

Mel Blue is the risque pen name for Melissa Blue. Her writing career started on a typewriter one month after her son was born. This would have been an idyllic situation for a writer if it had been 1985, not 2004. She penned that first contemporary romance, upgraded to a computer and hasn't looked back since.

Outside of writing, Blue works as a mail clerk for the federal government, has a paralegal certificate (that she has more use for as a dust pan) and is a mother of two rambunctious children. She lives in California where the wine is good and, despite popular belief, is not always sunny.

Ms. Blue delivers another winner!

I am a fan of Mel Blue's writing and I don't hide the fact that she is my guilty pleasure. When I want to read something naughty but engaging and smart she is who I reach for. I love her heros most of all; for whatever the reason they always speak to me. Dwayne in Debauching the Virgin (DTV) was no exception.

I will admit I had my doubts about this storyline and the whole adult male virgin but I shouldn't have. Ms. Blue did not create the typical shy, introverted guy who can't get the girl. She instead had a hero who was confident, sexy and very capable of pulling any woman he wanted. Dwayne had valid reasons for why he was a virgin and they seemed realistic and not contrived. So much so that for a second I was more than happy to help him rectified the situation. However he did not need me because he had Amelia and she found out very quickly that virgin did not equal innocent. I love that he put something on her and proved that the teacher can also be the student.

I really liked Amelia; she is controlling, opinionated with no filter. She was my kind of girl. She and Dwayne were very well matched, each providing what the other needed. Both had something they wanted and needed to lose and the other offered the opportunity for them to.

I really enjoyed DTV and I didn't want it to end! I highly recommend it!

Hot short erotica novella, with a premise to engage beyond the promise of hot sex scenes. Tightly written, with a depth of emotion to elevate it above simply being a 'naughty' read.

Both Amelia and Dwayne share a touch of vulnerability which falls away as each finds confidence through the other. Yeah, I'd recommend.

If you are into books with virgin heroes this is THE BOOK. It is literally what the whole book is about. I believe this is my FAVORITE male-virgin deflowing book of all time.
I do love the deflowing of Ramsey in “Desperately Seeking Shapeshifter” (Midnight Liaisons #2)
by Jessica Sims but that book is also a part of a larger story. This book was straight up about de-virginizing a hot pilot. Loved it! Keeping it! Recommend it!

Virgin rating:
Innocence of virgin hero: 2.5/5
Innocence in losing it: 5/5
Build up to losing it: 5/5
Hotness of losing it: 5/5
Busted touching himself: no

A+ debauching. The hero is the virgin in this one and I will read anything where gendered tropes are subverted. The novella format works, I like the author's style, it's very show don't tell. Unfortunately it also included some seriously tiring but mostly subtle sexism. 2.5 stars.

Prick Tease

As a professional matchmaker she knows how to read people and help them find what they need even when it's not what they want. He has more life experience, but hasn't crossed the final frontier yet. Will the student out learn the teacher?

A quick sexy read

This was a good quick read with am.unexpected twist. This time it was a male virgin seeking guidance. How often does that happen in real life or books? After a few bumps they figured it out and made set out basic rules we can all use in honest relationships.

Sweet

This book is sweet and sexy like the hero Dwayne. A complicated situation got resolved a little easier than I expected but does it really have to be complex.

We are back in New Orleans at the famous Hotel Beaudelaire's where your deepest desires come to life and where love has been known to be found.

Dwayne Blackstone is a pilot who flies all over the place but a near death experience has caused him to take real stock of his life and he has decided he has not even begun to live and not only that dying a virgin is a big no, no. So here he is in at the hotel wondering, wanting and needing to lose his virginity but not just to any woman. He want to lose that sacred part of himself to a woman who will not only teach him the art of seduction but the intricacies of making love.

Amelia Washington is a millionaire matchmaker, who has successfully linked up people perfectly. Some may have not worked out but her overall record is impeccable. She is also a workaholic with two failed engagements under her belt, so a relationship is not in her cards but her self imposed celibacy need to end by getting laid fast.

Seraphina the Hotel's premiere matchmaker, knows her friend Amelia better than maybe Amelia knows herself and has made the perfect match for her for her stay. Seraphina pairs Dwayne and Amelia together, Amelia can't believe and she is also intrigued by Dwayne being a virgin. Dwayne can't believe the woman he has watched from the shadows of the hotel when Amelia walked in will be the one who will teach him what he needs.

One whole week of just these two individuals of the teacher and the student. But what happens when the student takes over and becomes the teacher? It turns into something neither one of them anticipated and sometimes the unknown is exactly what two people need.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and that is what I like the most. The page count doesn't have to be lengthy in order for me to love a book, it just has to make complete sense and this story of Dwayne and Amelia did that for me.

Well Until My Next Review Ciao Bellas!
