I do like the method this book uses - presenting a technique, then a project using that technique.
However I don't like that some of the first projects are about modifying things you own. I don't want the kid thinking she can just dig a shirt or pants out of her closet and start cutting.
And really, some of these projects don't seem modern enough. I probably would have loved them 20-25 years ago. They would probably appeal to the kid. But they no longer appeal to me. I suppose what I could do was take the ideas and come up with something I'd allow. But that would be effort on my part.
