Alien Arrivals

Rate this book
The populations on several worlds have discovered themselves to be but part of a galaxy filled with other sentients. Book 4 of the Galactic Mage Series begins a new phase of existence for the people of those worlds, and it follows the lives of Altin and Orli, Roberto, Queen Karroll, Blue Fire, Shadesbreath, and of course, Pernie, as they begin to discover what roles they have in the redefined universe. Other familiar characters also appear, including the return of Black Sander and the ever-malignant marchioness. Their motives and machinations become increasingly clear, and their ambition, patience and cunning will be put in pursuit of greater power and influence. It’s a “new world” in the wide, wide galaxy, and the opportunities are endless … for everyone. # # # Alien Arrivals is a 158,000 word novel, fourth book in The Galactic Mage Series.

Took me awhile to read this book since I was not sure were the story was going and if I was going to like it much. I was not disappointed and I like how John took the story especially since the title really is a double entendre. It just depends on how you look at the situations in the story lines.
If you have read the books before this one WHY would you stop now. A good continuation of the story with more original ideas (story plots lines). The only complaint is I now have to wait for the next in the series - grrrrr!!!!

This volume of the Galactic Mage continues to be an entertaining mix of fantasy and science fiction. I found the look at the elves rather interesting (though I found Pernie's development heartbreaking), and the quest to reignite Blue Fire's mate was interesting. I liked that this book moved a bit further into exploring Earth and the effect of it's interaction with Prosperion and its people. While the ending was somewhat of a letdown, with its huge cliffhanger, at this point, I rather expected it, so it wasn't as big of a deal as previous ones. I'm looking forward to the next volume, though since I consume them in audiobook format, it will be some time before that is available.

The mystery deepens

Like it predecessors, Alien arrivals continues the tale of Altin and Orli in their galactic adventures and planetary intrigue. Not a huge fan of a cliff-hanger ending but I definitely plan to read the next one. Great stuff

another rollicking adventure of the Galactic Mage. They finally get married. Evil Prosperions make it to Earth. And Pernie turns out to be a little birch.

A nice story, I just very much dislike cliffhangers.

Might wait until #6 is out so I one shot it if the next had another obvious cliffhanger.
