Arianna Rose A dark paranormal romance that blurs the line between good and evil… Arianna Rose never had an ordinary life. Moving from place to place with a mother who was barely sober enough to raise her but always ready enough to follow the newest man in her life made “ordinary” an impossibility. That was all Arianna had ever known. But when a handsome stranger appears as if from thin air, things take a turn for the extraordinary. Abilities she didn’t dream existed—let alone within her—arise, turning her life upside down. Grappling with yet another new school, another of her mother’s new lives, and the appearance of this man who sparks a firestorm of power within her leaves Arianna Rose reeling. How will she cope? How will she use her newfound powers? Howard Cain was chosen by God. He never doubted that for a second. Placed on this earth as a soldier of faith, his purpose was to seek out evil. And destroy it by any means he saw fit. He’d prepared his whole life to face the darkest, most potent evil to walk among man. And now the time has come. HIS time. The Dark One hasn’t realized the entirety of her power. But he feels its rise. He feels her. The clock has begun to tick down to the end of days. To destruction of mankind. Of goodness and decency. That which he’s sworn protect. And protect them he will. He will not allow himself to fail. Many will die in his quest of righteousness—a small price to be paid for the safety of humanity. He will not fail God. He will not fail his faithful servants. He will find and destroy the girl before it is too late. Before the world falls to the fate she will surely bring.
Jennifer and Christopher Martucci hoped that their life plan had changed radically in early 2010. To date, the jury is still out. But late one night, in January of 2010, the stay at home mom of three girls (all under the age of six) had just picked up the last doll from the playroom floor and placed it in a bin when her husband startled her by declaring, “We should write a book, together!” Wearied from a day of shuttling the children to and from school, preschool and Daisy Scouts, laundry, cooking and cleaning, Jennifer simply stared blankly at her husband of fifteen years. After all, the idea of writing a book had been an individual dream each of them possessed for much of their young adult lives. Both had written separately in their teens and early twenties, but without much success. They would write a dozen chapters here and there only to find that either the plot would fall apart, or characters would lose their zest, or the story would just fall flat. Christopher had always preferred penning science fiction stories filled with monsters and diabolical villains, while Jennifer had favored venting personal experiences or writing about romance, as romance was far easier to invent fictitiously than it was to attain in real life. Inevitably though, frustration and day to day life had placed writing on the back burner and for several years, each had pursued alternate (paying) careers. But the dream never died. And Christopher suggested that their dream ought to be removed from the back burner for further examination. When he proposed that he and his wife author a book together on that cold January night, Jennifer was hesitant to reject the idea outright. His proposal sparked a discussion, and the discussion lasted deep into the night. By morning, the idea for the Dark Creations series was born.
The Dark Creations series was written while Jennifer and Christopher continued with their day to day activities and raised their young children. They changed diapers, potty trained and went to story time at the local library between chapter outlines and served as room parents while fleshing out individal sections of the book. Life simply continued. And in some ways, their everyday lives were reflected in the characters of the series. In fact, the main female characters are named after three very important people in their lives: their three daughters. Their likenesses end there, however.
As the story line continues to evolve, so too does the Martucci collaboration. Lunches are still packed, noses are still wiped and time remains a rare and precious commodity in their household in upstate New York, but it is the sound of happy chaos that is the true background music of their writing. They hope that their work, though penned for a young adult audience, will be appreciated by the young of every age, and that all enjoy reading it as much as they enjoyed writing it.
Once again I am blown away by a book aimed at a young adult audience. I am a 53 year old teenager, who discovered young adult books quite by accident. Again and again I am astounded at the quality of the writing, plot formation and depth of character these books exhibit. Books by this author in particular have kept me riveted to the story, unable to put my kindle down as each chapter gets more and more exciting. I can hardly wait to read what is in store for Arianna Rose next. Wonderful books. Highly recommend every one of them.
I love how the authors had written the characters. All of the characters were written as incredibly flawed and morally grey. While others had those same issues, but were down right dangerous and would go so far as to commit murder to get their goals achieved. It really was a breathe of fresh air in a long line of reading books where the main characters are described as perfect.
Now, lets talk about the cons:
My first con with this book series is that its BORING and slow. With the first book especially, nothing even happens until the last two chapters of the book.
My second con with this book is that it was at times predictable. For example, my guess was proven correct when in the second book I knew that the relationship between Arianna and her first love interest would not last. I knew that she would have had feelings for her Protector and I knew that the goth girl Arianna had an immediate liking to was a witch.
Also, the writting style I felt was over the top and melodramtic at times which began to wear me down. The third book had typos aswell especial towards the ending chapters.
The third con is the rushed ending in book two. I wished that the authours had taken their time with it, instead of completely speeding through it. One of my complaints is that the person hunting our main character was a warlock, which was very very briefly touched upon on in the first book. While I did get a back story, it gave no further explanation of his abilities. I would have really liked to see what kind of powers he had as well as his personal enternal struggle of these abilities. Also, in the second book, there were some instances of telling but not showing. For example, I would love to read(first hand) about Arianna becoming aware of her powers like accidently injuring her and healing in mere seconds or drinking/smoking with friends and not getting drunk/high because of her healing factor, not being told of such.
Fourth con was that I have read a story of this type before. For example, a teenage girl discoverying one day that she has supernatural abilities (most of the time she does not know why) and now everyone is after her. And while I can appreciate the fact that the authors tried to put a spin on it, to me it was still lacking in originality.
The fifth con is the relationship between Arianna and her Protector. From what I gathered from the first three books so far the romance between them (especially on Arianna's part) felt insta lovey to me, and had me rolling my eyes especially in last chapters of the third book. The authors should have had Arrianna take time to get to know him well enough to see if there was infact a relationship to be had in the first place. I would have loved if the two of them had started out on a strictly professional basis, then as friends and then slowly progress to a romance. In essence, their relationship just felt forced, rushed and unnatural to me.
In conclusion, I can see how the authors tried to put some originality into this series, but I didn't like this book series as I had hoped. I don't know if I will be reading the last two books of the series.

Well I quite liked the idea of this storyline, but somehow couldn't connect with the main character Arianna. The start is interesting with a good plot in place. I found the details and description very plain, not enough to feel. I found Arianna character has not enough personality, she comes over very rude but is actually very weak, her emotions are all over the place. There are so many unanswered questions, like after Luke was killed, what happened to his sister, or what happened to the bike Desmond promised. I found it was annoying that she was home and next moment she was in school, how did she get there, first time her mother gave her a lift but what happened the other times. Also there's not enough detailed information on the town, no other character involvement in it, the only one was the police Men. It's all confusing. So for my part I am not gonna get the next one. Sorry for only two stars.
It hooked me immediately. With the cigarettes and the crappy trailer, everything was just so different from other fiction books I've read. It had a hint of reality, but still held that magical touch that I like. It was refreshing to read something with a unique plot. I really liked that everything wasn't peaches and roses. SPOILER ALERT: I was so upset when everyone started dying, but I was also grateful. In real life, not everything works out how you want it to and a well-written book will reflect that. I loved this and the authors did a fantastic job! I will definitely be checking out their other work.
This is the first three books of a coming of age paranormal series that will completely consumes you! Emotionally charged keeps you rooting for the heroine of the story Arianna Rose. A young girl who's life has been hard gets sucked into more chaos seemingly hopeless. She's told that a prophecy says she is to be the Sola, meaning to walk alone, but no one expects free will may change her path. After so much loss and loneliness will she find companionship? Read to find out!!!!
I really really enjoyed the first three books of this series and can't wait to start on the next. I could not put the book down and with the twists and turns of the story I was hooked and just need to turn the page to see what was gonna happen. The authors kept me enthralled all the way through
I preferred books 1 & 2 as I felt Arianna's character had rapidly watered down by book 3 and was somewhat unbelievable however given what she had experienced I suppose it isn't so far fetched. I enjoyed these books because I enjoy this genre. Worth a read. :)
I read this book non-stop. I really enjoyed the characters and the original content of the Chosen One story. As a writer myself, I give this book 5 enthusiastic stars. I hope to read the rest of the series soon.
I couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed the story, and it was very well written. There were only a few spelling or word use errors. Not like some of the other stories I’ve read lately. Looking forward to the next book by these authors.
Shocked by these book. Excited for her and Desmond. I liked him. They are both good. Happy Beth is good too and helped. Happy with how things turned out but that now she will be hunted once again. I liked what I read of this series.
Better than I did. As a voracious reader, I read whatever I can get my hands on. Including this book. The characters are easy to identify with, or absolutely detest. So it reads really fast.
I like the characters. Love her powers. I don't know how to explain it, I just wish there was more to it all. All of sudden she has these powers. Just seemed off to me If was good reading.
The story is about a girl who has no idea she is a witch until her powers start to develop, then she learns she is not only a witch but so much more. Great book that is hard to put down.
I choose 5 because I thought it was funny, exciting, and best of all it had deadlocks and witches!!! I liked almost everything I didn't like the bad guys of course!!
