At the start of the book they all go to the wax museum for a private tour. Then they see frankenstein's monster steal a valuable necklace. By the end they solve the mystery. I give this book 4 stars because while it is a good story it has a very similar layout to the other scooby doo books.
For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-CycleA spooky mystery in a wax museum told in an easy-to-read chapter book for fans of Scooby and the gang. This book was well-written with good descriptions. The book also has a few illustrations throughout, which helps break up and enhance the text. A good mystery for kids to try to solve as they read. It is fun to try to crack the case. Having never been to a wax museum myself, I'm not sure how much kids would relate to or understand the setting, but it definitely added a creepy vibe to the book.My only read issue with the book was the illustrations. They were well-done, but didn't always fit with what happened in the book. At one point, Scooby sneezes, knocking over a Wolfman statue, which knocks into a Dracula statue, which lands on the Frankenstein Monster. But in the illustration, the monster is under a collection of five different statues, including a cowhand (and no Dracula or Wolfman). Also, at the end, the text says the countess takes off the monster's mask, but in the illustration, it shows Fred pulling the mask. Little details, but a bit annoying.Overall, a good read with a fun mystery.
Definitely not one of the better Scooby books in this series. The pictures were oddly placed. The previous pages would be describing the action that you didn’t get to see a picture of until you turned the page but by then something different was happening that wouldn’t be shown until after you turned that page. It made it a little confusing to follow along. Some of the pictures didn’t match the words at all. Like there was a part where some of the monster wax figures fell over but in the picture they were random people was figures and not monsters at all. Also some of the pictures just looked odd instead of looking like the characters they were supposed to be depicting. The pictures definitely took away from the story.
The story itself would have been ok but some of the writing was even confusing. There were a lot of people introduced all at once which made it hard to sort out who was who and some parts were just written really weird which made it harder to understand what was going on. For a children’s book I really didn’t think this book was that well done especially compared to some of the other books in this series.
We love all things Scooby-Doo, so whenever we find a Scooby-Doo book we haven't read yet at our local library, we just have to borrow it. The stories in the Scooby-Doo! Mysteries series are simple, fun, and we enjoy reading them together. Right now, our girls really like these short chapter books, but they also like the shorter picture books too. We've read over fifty of these stories, but there are so many more out there...I think we'll be having fun with these stories for years to come.
This tale involves a wax museum, a countess and a diamond necklace. Can Scooby and the gang get the stolen necklace back and figure out who is pretending to be Frankenstein's monster? We enjoyed reading this book together and will certainly look for more of these stories at our local library.
Despite what the cover may have you believe there is no real or fake frankesntein monster in this book, instead the villain is dressed up like a wax figure of frankenstein...so it doesn't have that Frankenstein mad science atmosphere to the story at all. As usual it's a very formulaic very simple mystery.
Niezwykle oddająca serial książka. Po prostu jest tak dobrze złożona, napisana... Co chwile parskałam śmiechem z tekstów Kudłatego i Scoobiego 💖 czytając dialogi bohaterów słyszałam postaci z bajki, cudo, polecam 💜✌
