First thing that comes to mind-Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy..yeah, its that hot.

This novella will definitely get your adrenaline pumping. Baxter tells an inviting and exciting tale that I easily read in a single sitting. Baxter’s writing is very smooth and her descriptions paint a brilliant picture of the ranch. I was amazed at how in-depth the story was considering the short page length. I also appreciated the accuracy in the equine and cattle details in the novel. The author really knew what she was talking about, which was refreshing.
I thoroughly enjoyed the characters that we came to know throughout this novella. Baxter doesn’t simply develop them in the present, but lets us in on their personal and family histories as well. I really felt like I had met these two. I loved that the characters knew each other before the story began, and that they had a connection that came with them into the tale. It made the entire story so much more believable.
As a whole, this was a quick, racy, exciting story that draws at both your emotions and your wildest imagination. It was a great read.

The gist: Ryder is a billionaire cattle rancher. Lara is a vet. Ryder has wanted Lara but she’s repeatedly turned him down. In an attempt to get her to pay him some attention, he bought a thoroughbred horse he knew she was planning on buying. When Lara came to his ranch seeking to buy the horse from him, he proposed he stay the weekend with him in exchange.
First of all, this is a VERY short story; therefore, it’s ridiculously fast-paced. Due to the fast pace of the story, it wasn’t very realistic and parts of the story felt forced. They both have troubled pasts that they don’t talk about with ANYONE, but within 12 hours or spending time together, they’ve divulged their unpleasant life histories to each other. (Realistic? Not so much…) The climax of the story involves Lara’s ex-boyfriend and I thought, ‘Oh! So we’re really going here… Because THIS makes sense. Okaay…’ If you’re a fan of these ridiculously fast-paced stories, none of these things will bother you.
The story was well-written. It was as well-developed as a decent short story can be. The characters had histories and SOME depth, although you can’t have very much depth in a story this short. (That’s my biggest issue with short stories…) Some of the dialogue was a bit cheesy, as in Hallmark Movie Channel cheesy, but that’s kind of a pre-requisite for romance novels, yeah? The characters were likable enough. There was a bit of humor.
I gave this one two stars because three stars is the max I’m willing to give a story this short. I feel like four and five star ratings should be reserved for those stories that have more “substance”. That’s not to say short stories all suck. Some of them can be quite enjoyable. I don’t make a habit of reading them only because they’re too fast-paced, borderline ridiculous, and often leave me wanting more. I DID enjoy the story though and if you’re looking for a quick read, you probably won’t be disappointed.

THE BILLIONAIRE COWBOY is my second Baxter romance and she it has won a place on my auto-read list of romance authors.
Don’t let the word Billionaire keep you from reading Many Baxter’s THE BILLIONAIRE COWBOY. I know there are a lot of romances out there about billionaires with love interests that are virgins for some reason. But this is not the case with Ryder and Lara.
In fact the billionaire part really takes back seat. Yes Ryder is rich but it’s not the total sum of the cowboy. He worked hard for his money and continues to work his ranch even though he could pay others to do the work for him. Yes, he’s the stereo type man whore.
Lara is a strong female that knows what she wants and she works hard to get it. The problem is Ryder is something she wants but knows she should stay away from him. But she finds herself falling for the cowboy when she shows her that all the rumors about his talents are not exaggerated.
I really enjoyed THE BILLIONAIRE COWBOY but had one issue with it. With the novella being less than 100 pages it moves at a fast pace which is not a bad thing but there was a suspense element that was thrown in towards the end of the story that I felt was a little sudden and out of place. I think it would have worked before if THE BILLIONAIRE COWBOY was a full length novel and had more time to build up to the scene.
Mandy Baxter knows how to bring the smexy to my Kindle and I can’t wait to read about Jase in THE BILLION DOLLAR PLAYER.

Who can resist a cowboy? I know I can't.
The Billionaire Cowboy by Mandy Baxter was a very sexy, yet cute short story featuring a sexy cowboy and a headstrong and sassy vet. Ryder and Lara together was such fun to read. They had good chemistry going and the sex between them was steamy.
The writing was smooth, the pacing was fast, although not rushed and the character development of both of the main characters were good. Although short, Ms. Baxter did a fine job of delivering the story as a whole. With that, I didn't feel cheated after reading The Billionaire Cowboy as I usually do with some novellas.
Overall, The Billionaire Cowboy was a satisfying read. I'm glad I found this series. I'm already looking forward to the next two book in this new e-series from Mandy Baxter!

Lara is an upfront and honest girl, "you can afford not to care. Whatever happens this weekend, you'll still be the legendary Ryder Blackwell. And I'll be nothing more than another notch on your bedpost." Ryder that man can have some caveman tendencies, "her voice was a husky purr that shot straight to his balls, drawing them painfully tight. The urge to open his fly and pound into her was almost too strong to resist." He's also a caring guy who likes to take care of his woman, "shush." His response didn't open the door for conversation. "I'm taking you to bed and you're going to get some rest. And then I'm going to make you breakfast and take care of you for the rest of the day." I loved reading this book.

Oh how I love reading a romance with cowboys. Add the fact that they're billionaire's and well. Double the yum? The Billionaire Cowboy is fun, sexy, funny and a quick read for any fan of the genre.
This was my first time reading anything by Mandy Baxter and I have to say, I look forward to much more!

Es un libro bastante simple diría yo, no puedo darle menor calificación porque es muy entretenido y no se me hizo malo, solo que no hay un gran desarrollo de la historia eso es todo. Lectura de unas pocas horas, para despejar la mente.

This was a fun read that keeps your smiling, it is a short story that you will want to read in one setting. You don’t have to give it a lot of focus which makes it a lovely fun romance that will keep your motor running and your smiles coming. What a way to start a series, I cannot wait to read the rest of them.
Ryder is a headstrong alpha male who has everything going for him. He is a very handsome, tough cowboy who can have any women he pretty well wants. There is one women he wants more than anything in the world but she isn’t saying yes. He more into a few one nightstands not a meaningful relationship. The new vet in town will not give him the time of day, his plans is to take the one thing she wants most in this world away from her. Then give it back to her if she agrees to come work on his ranch for the weekend. He knows the little spit fire will come running and when she does he has his plans for getting her into his bed. Oh yes he has got this or does he?
Lara well she has plans of her own and they do not include the rich, infuriating, and unbearably sexy Ryder. She has a business to start, a family to overcome and a name to make. She doesn’t have time for men and doesn’t want anything to do with Ryder or does she. She is madder than a wet hen, how dare he do this, but she has plans of her own to win back the one thing she wants most in this world. If she teaches him a lesson along the way so be it. He will find she isn’t some easy lay oh he has a lot to learn and she just might be the women to teach him. If she can just get her emotion, thoughts and feelings under control she might come out of this the winner.
This was a fun loving romance where each have lessons to learn. Things do not always come easy sometimes attraction is just too strong to walk away from. Plans do not always work as we plan them but in the long run they usually turn out for the best.
This story has a nice ending, I wouldn’t say it has closure. I like closure and from what I can see these characters will not be showing up in the other series planned but I could be wrong. I found all the characters to be wonderful, his brother was a trip and lord his mother is something else. The book doesn’t have a lot of meaningless chatter which was nice, it was straight to the point. It does not give you a lot of useless information. However I do feel it was a little to short, I would have liked to seen closure. This is a story that could easily be built on and taken so much farther. For a short read I felt it was an outstanding read with lots of passion without filling the book up with pages and pages of sex. It is a get to the point book and move on, I found that to be very likeable. It does state that it is a Christmas read, I did not find anything about Christmas in this book. For me that didn’t matter just thought I would point it out.

I thought the premise sounded good and once in a while I am in the mood for something short and to the point. And that is exactly what I got with this first in a series about three billionaire brothers who make the big bucks in their chosen professions with this being about the oldest Blackwell who is a successful rancher.
Ryder Blackwell can have anything he wants these days and is a far cry from his family's humble beginnings, but other than his ranch, the one thing he wants isn't all that easy in acquiring. Veterinarian Lara Montgomery has bewitched him and turned him inside out since the first day he met her when she ripped him a new one about a calf that got caught in the fence. Since then, he has asked her out several times and shown his interest, but she shoots him down or ignores him. But that is about to change because now he has something she wants.
Lara isn't oblivious to the attractive rancher who can and has had every woman he wants according to the local gossip, but she refuses to be one of the many notches on his bedpost. She is starting over and trying to repair her family's reputation and she won't let it get tarnished by being seen with a player like Ryder Blackwell. Unfortunately, he outbid her at the auction for the pedigreed thoroughbred mare she has been saving for that will be the first step toward her dream of a reputable stable like her granddad had. He makes an unusual offer that she can't refuse as she is determined that she will not let him get to her while she fulfills her side of the bargain to acquire the mare.
As I said, this was shorter one with not a lot of development, but just an unapologetic passionate weekend encounter that manages to break down the barriers toward a nice resolve. It provided an engaging plot with two people who had an ongoing attraction from before the beginning of the story. The hero's ploy brought them close together so they could act on their mutual attraction though also learn that was a lot more to a person than their public reputations. I enjoyed all, but Lara's quick to judge attitude and catty jealousy that made her seem mean until she paid attention to what she was seeing from Ryder himself. Ryder saw her as a breath of fresh air because she wasn't interested in his money which is very true and he had no long lasting plans at first so she was right to sense that about him. In the end, they both got more than they bargained for as they scorched things up around the ranch.
This takes place around Christmas time and is put out there as a holiday read, but I didn't see more than a nod toward a Christmas theme. I would suggest this would appeal to those who are looking for a fast, sassy and hot contemporary cowboy romance.

A romance that say HELLO to a puddle of combustibles with a blowtorch, so wear FLAME RESISTANT UNDIES!
Ryder Blackwell is a mega bucks cattle rancher, but he did it the hard way, with his blood, sweat & tears. He has been able to get any woman he wants, but the local vet, Lara, while not give him the time of day! So he pulls his last card from his deck & she will not be able to walk away!
Lara Montgomery is the new veterinary in town, has also pull herself up by her boot straps & now she must keep her sparkly reputation in town. If only she did not CRAVE Hottie Ryder, but she will not be another member of his Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma'am Club. So why or why is she driving to his ranch in a FEMALE RAGE? Because that snake bought HER horse that was the beginning of her breed ranch!
To get her horse back, he wants her to spend the weekend at his ranch, but Lara won't sleep with him for a horse. Ryder just wants her to prove that she can WORK a working ranch & if she does, the horse is hers. So we have the oldest war of male verses female! Ryder is planning to kill her with pure sinful decadent indulgences, but Lara is planning to show him that what she lacks in muscle, she will make up with her pure will! With a stubborn fence, a feisty, smart & trust worthy horse, smiles that could melt any granny's undies, a cattle dog that's works for his chow, male lips that were made to please a female, an alfalfa delivery service, female moans that can make a male spontaneous cum, meddling family members, new & creative kitchen moves, old scars revealed, too many orgasms to count (which is such amazingly good thing), a female's mouth that make her man so very happy & a show of male chivalry to rock & roll Lara & Ryder's world to completion! Can Lara walk away & not be bow legged? Does Ryder want her to go? Will they have the ultimate happy endings again & again? Who got the horse?
This is my 1st romance by Ms. Baxter & she totally woke up my pleasure center with this cowboy style quickie! Lara was a strong willed sassy southern heroine that learned the hard way to only count on herself. Ryder was BAD BOY at heart, but CRAVED (even if he hid it) that soul mate that would always just want HIM! This was a PULL THE FIRE ALARM quickie, but it did have an amazing love story of lonely hearts, inner dreams & a deep meeting of souls! Now all romances reads need sparks, steam & sizzle & Ms. Baxter brought an open flame to her gasoline party & then BOOM, yes thank you ma'am! Now I absolutely love to discover new-to-me authors & Ms. Baxter is now on my radar & I can't wait to read more of her WARNING: FIRE EXTINGUISHER REQUIRED reads & so she earns my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes for this 1st book of the Billionaire's Club series!

This is my 1st romance by Ms. Baxter & she totally woke up my pleasure center with this cowboy style quickie! Lara was a strong willed sassy southern heroine that learned the hard way to only count on herself. Ryder was BAD BOY at heart, but CRAVED (even if he hid it) that soul mate that would always just want HIM! This was a PULL THE FIRE ALARM quickie, but it did have an amazing love story of lonely hearts, inner dreams & a deep meeting of souls! Now all romances reads need sparks, steam & sizzle & Ms. Baxter brought an open flame to her gasoline party & then BOOM, yes thank you ma'am! Now I absolutely love to discover new-to-me authors & Ms. Baxter is now on my radar & I can't wait to read more of her WARNING: FIRE EXTINGUISHER REQUIRED reads & so she earns my top score of 5 fingers up & 10 toes for this 1st book of the Billionaire's Club series!

I got this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I choose this book the day before yesterday because it was a short read, and it sounded rather appealing.
When I chose to request the book I was under the impression, based on its inclusion in an email from Netgalley about Christmas-themed books, that it was Christmas-themed. I saw maybe three mentions of Christmas, and they were all in passing. That was one small strike against it (small because I figured that it was possible that Netgalley maybe didn't realize that they'd included it in a Christmas-themed email, or maybe they simply forgot to mention that not all the books would be about/around Christmas.).
But the strikes just kept building. My main problems with the book are as follows:
1. Character development (or the lack thereof). The characters were thin, boring, and to be honest, annoying. It really seemed like they were almost the same character in two bodies of different genders. Both worried about ridiculous things, both silly, and both determined to have their own way. They got on my nerves, and honestly, if it wasn't such a short story, I would have stopped reading it.
2. The relationship between the two characters. Ryder and Lara seemed to be either arguing with each other, or getting it on. There didn't seem to be any middle ground, and that got very wearing after a while. It's not very believable that two people could argue so much, and then just immediately start having sex - or that they would suddenly just fall into a relationship with each other. I spent much of my reading time rolling my eyes.
3. Plot development (or lack thereof). Ryder buys a horse that Lara wants, and tells her he'll give her the horse if she spends the weekend at his ranch - because he intends to get her into bed. I won't say how it ends so as not to give it away, but I will say that there was a lot more that could have been done with this plot, even in the short number of pages allotted to this story, and it wasn't. It didn't seem like the plot moved forward at all - time moved forward, but that was all.
4. The sex. Graphic sex in a book can be great, but this just irritated me. She's angry but she's wet enough to have a lake in her pants (okay, maybe not that wet, but still!), and he's still horny as heck after his mother's been there? I mean, come on! Even if this is supposed to be erotica, this was just over the top for me.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I just couldn't. I might try others by this author, to see if it was just this one book or if I just don't like her style in general, but this book definitely did not land itself on my 'favorites' shelf.

The Billionare Cowboy? Yes Please ! This story was a sexy fun read!
Ryder Blackwell, the oldest son has turned his and his families fortunes around from dirt poor as a teenager to one of he largest ranchers with billions of dollars at his disposal. Ryder has never had to chase women, he knows he is attractive and then add to that his financial status , women are generally clamoring to get in his bed, but in a twist of fate the one women he wants, wants nothing to do with him,
Dr Lara. Montgomery a veterinarian has made up her mind to steer clear of Ryder , new to town she and tryin to build her business she does not need the gossip that would follow, after all she has already heard all the gossip about Ryder and his sexual prowess. Is Lara attracted to him hell yes , but for her own security she will keep turning him down not tha seems to deter him , he keeps asking her out even after chewing him out over a calf who got tangled up in some fencing. He keeps asking and the only way to avoid giving in is to stay at a distance and angry!
Unfortunately for Lara her anger will be the one thing that leads her right into Ryder's trap and he was counting on it!
He purchased at auction the brood mare he knew she wanted right out from under her on purpose knowing she would come to him ready to go off like a fire cracker, which he loves when she is mad. Lara falls right into step and shows up at his ranch ready to fight for what she wants, but how badly does she want the horse, enough to spend the weekend with him, because he can not wait to have her under him, he has spent weeks fantasizing about it!
Know he is not that much of a low life, he tells her she can have the horse if she can spend the weekend and run a ranch as well as he does alone, since she is always calling his abilities in question over that calf!
Though Lara loathe the idea the reality is she wants that mare , she has pinned her dreams on it so she will stay. Besides she is mad enough at him know to keep her distance, as if!
Time together watching this incredibly sexy cowboy dissolves her willpower till she is almost drooling over him, things get hot and steamy and complications arise in the form of an X boyfreind! But X boyfreind please meet the immovable wall that is Ryder!
Loved this well written short story was a truly enjoyable read, with a cute story line and just the right amount of angst!

Honestly, you don’t need a lengthy review to figure out what you are getting with this one, my fellow romance book-loving friends. The cover and book synopsis pretty much says it all. Expect a quick read with very explicit steamy scenes and reformed bad boy behavior. This hero is bound and determined to win the heart of the heroine by any means necessary. It just so happens she had her heart set on buying a particular horse to rekindle her family's horse breeding business. Said hero deliberately bought the horse first, knowing she would come after him to claim it. Yes, it is a pretty predictable read but sometimes it's O.K. to know what you are getting yourself in for when selecting a romantic read.
This author tends to use heroes who are tom cat players/skirt chasers until they focus all their lust/attention on the heroine. This was no exception. Said hero had such a loose reputation with OW that the heroine knew not to get involved with him. I must admit that is a trait I don't like to see in my romantic reads. This girl at least has enough pride not to want to be another notch on his bedpost. Ms. Baxter does usually interject some relationship worthy moments so sexcapades don't always hijack her storylines...but they often come very close to doing so. An exception would be Rocked by the Billionaire. It was my least favorite.
There is a collection series available in one book, and you can save some dinero if you buy it instead of each one individually. Unless, of course, you take into account you might want to skip the novella I just mentioned. At the time of this review, The Billionaire Sheriff has not been published separately. Eventually, it will be made available outside the Tall, Dark, Billionaire Texan series.

Amanda Bonilla presents us here a new series, a cowboy romance. It’s been a while since I’ve read a story like this one but it was very nice to fall back into the genre. The format is pretty short, but it is also something that is interesting because it allows us to read the book between two novels and quite fast.
Ryder Blackwell owns a ranch and became a billionaire in years. He always gets what he wants, remains a highly coveted man and does not hesitate to control everything and everyone around him. Yet a person will resist him … Lara. He tries to invite this woman to a date since he met her but the latter refused each time. Stung, he will do everything to get her to come to the ranch and for that he buys the horse she wanted more than anything as it seems like the only solution. But by playing with fire, he may well be burned too. But whatever happens, Lara is determined to stay away from him!
I enjoyed getting to know these two characters. Lara is a young woman who is determined in her choices, and has nothing to do with Ryder’s money as she only wants to make a name in her city. She has not had an easy life and it is true that it is very easy to understand her desires, even if nothing is simple. We understand why she tries to stay away from Ryder and yet it’s true that it’s a shame. As for Ryder, he had a complicated life as well and we discover more about that in the story. He is a man who is used to getting everything he wants, and for once, this one resists him, making her even more irresistible. The tension and chemistry between the two is really explosive and it’s true that their relationship is full of sparks. It was really nice to see them together.
Before revealing all, I’ll stop there. I’ll just say that it was a great find and I’m curious about the next book in the series to see who will be featured this time.

Ryder Blackwell is a man who knows what he wants, and isn't afraid to go after it, and that just so happens to include his towns new veterinarian Lara Montgomery. He has wanted her since he first laid eyes on her, but every time he asks her out she denies him, so now he has to resort to some shady tactics to lure her in and hopefully on his good side. He is hoping his one stitch last effort lands him the girl...and not heartache!
Lara Montgomery has been trying to avoid the advances on one very devastatingly handsome rancher who would love nothing more than to add her to his long list of lovers, but no matter how much she tries to stay away he always finds a way to lure her into his world. She has to admit that she is attracted to him, and is quite curious if all the rumors about him being a excellent lover are true, but she doesn't ever plan to find out the answer to her question. She doesn't do relationships anymore, her sole focus is one rebuilding her families horse business and a roll in the hay with Ryder Blackwell would only derail plan...
This short, but oh so sexy, little read immediately pulled me in and had me flying through the pages in search of what I hoped to be a spicy little happily ever after, and I am happy to report I found that and SO much more!! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent reading Lara & Ryder's story, in a matter of minutes I felt myself being pulled into their word and completely entranced by every written word. I got so wrapped up in their story that I ended up staying up well past my bedtime just to finish it, and I have to say it was WELL worth the loss of sleep!! After finishing this read I am certain of two things, 1. Ms. Baxter DEFINITELY knows her alpha's and 2. This book has bestseller written all over it!!
Highly recommend you give this read a try, not only will you be treated to some truly exceptional reading, but also have the opportunity to meet smooth talking alpha that is destined to steal your heart and leave you with a smile on your face!!

I have such a hard time with novellas, and I wish I didn't. I don't know why but I would rather sit and read a slow paced super long novel then a really good novella, I mean there is only so much character development you can do in such a short amount of time (the exception to this of course is novellas that go along with a series). But since I really love Mandy Baxter (aka Amanda Bonilla) I went ahead and gave this one a shot, plus I love a good cowboy.
So right of the bat I will tell you what I didn't like and why I gave this a three star. It literally all comes down to length. I mean the story is so fast paced that certain things come off as unrealistic. And example of this being that it only takes less then a day for these two to open up to each other about things in their past they don't normally talk about with anyone. It's just hard for me to believe two people can fall into such a relationship place in like a day, fall into bed together, sure, absolutely, but relationship, not so much. Also I like a bit more angst in a book, but that's a personal preference.
Now for what I did like. The writing style as always was awesome, the whole novella is well written, and it's why I love her as a writer (I will admit there is a couple of cheesy factor lines in here, but they don't bother me). I liked the backstories of the characters. The hot and steamy in this book was super hot and steamy and so much fun to read, the kitchen scene was seriously awesome. I liked the whole cowboy aspect going on here, what can I say I love an old ranch truck. If you are in the mood for a short story, with some seriously hot and heavy, then you may want to check out this book.

Her family had been important in that city, but because of the sins of her father, they had to move under shame. Now she is back and intends to resurrect the Montgomery's name. For this she decides to buy the horse at auction, October Sky, would be the starting point for her business, but Ryder James Blackwell decided to disrupt her plans.
The known casanova cowboy did not need October Sky. In fact he had the best curral in that area, with the most beautiful and expensive horses. The purchase of that one that mattered Lara looked more like a provocation. But it was a challenge which she could not afford to fight.
Ryder decides to make a proposal to the doctor: she spent the weekend at his ranch, helping him take care of his creation, since she always talk how he should manage his billionaire business which was going very well - thank you.
The challenge is accepted.
But more than a talker on his land, for long time Dr Lara has been the target of Ryder, only she always denied his invitations to dinner, preferring to hang out with others who had not half his fortune. And that intrigued him. If she wanted to build a solid business in the small town, why not just attack the richest resident of the area?
In two days they spent together, Ryder discovers that he and the doctor have more in common than supposed and that a violent ex-boyfriend can be a serious problem in a city like that ...
A delight short story. No clutch, and no cliffhanger. I even wanted the story to be longer.

Thoughts: WOW - can we say hot, steamy, sexy read? (fans self dramatically) Ryder's intense desire for Lara was just so vivid - it really just revved all the right buttons for me!
The whole 'ex-boyfriend' part of the story just seemed a bit thrown in there to add a little angst to the story, but you know what? I enjoyed the chemistry between these characters so much that I hardly even noticed!
Great characters, great story....what can I say? I just loved, loved, LOVED this book, and I hope the others in this series are just as good - because I definitely plan on reading them! I do wish it had been a little bit longer, but it made for a quick, sexy, and just all around fun read...:)

Should you care what people think about you? I know at times I have been one of those that holds back because of what people will say but I bow down to Lara Montgomery because she went for it and it was the right choice.
Ryder James Blackwell and Lara Montgomery have lots in common but they have no idea. Lara sees Ryder as a man that has slept with countless women and she believes that she is just another notch on his bedpost. Ryder thinks that if he can be with Lara he will be able to get her out of her system but the moment that he touches her there is no way that he can get her out of his system.
Lara had to leave her hometown because of what her father did. She was in a situation with a past lover that was not good for her but she was able to get away from him. Now as for Ryder he had a hard life and he did something when he was sixteen that changed his family forever. He made was able to make his family ranch into something but his rage would always be in him and he hoped that it would not come out again.
The Billionaire Cowboy was a great short read that had passion upon passion upon passion. The sparks were flying between Lara and Ryder. I loved that one of his brother’s made an appearance and also his mother. Love that he turned into someone else when she came and knew just how to rein in her son. I truly liked the characters and loved that I was able to learn their story. That is when I am able to connect with them even more.

The Billionaire Cowboy is a quick read the combines the right amount of conflict, humor, and sexy fun times, along with just a dash of action. You know a book is going to be good when it starts with one brother (Jason) warning his other brother (Ryder) that he may have a bit more of a “pissed-off female” headed his way than he can handle. And Lara arrives on the scene spitting mad, full of fire and enough gumption to tell Ryder off when no one else in their town would dare talk to him like that if they weren’t a blood relative. It was a great opening scene that left me chuckling and ready to dive in for more.
Ryder and Lara are both determined and passionate people who have far more in common than either know. The chemistry between the two is burn-the-house-down hot and makes for some steamy encounters. Over the course of the weekend they find their common ground and realize that a weekend may not be enough for them. It looks like this cowboy may have finally met his match. All in all, The Billionaire Cowboy was an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours and I’m looking forward to reading more of Ms. Baxter’s work. I cannot wait for the next book in the series and learning more about Jason’s story – and maybe meet the third brother.

Lara Montgomery couldn’t believe that she scrimped and saved to buy October Sky only to be out bid by rancher Ryder Blackwell. She was hoping to get back into the racing business that her family was once so prominent in by buying the horse and Ryder new that she wanted she wanted it. He was a low down rotten scoundrel and she was going to give him a piece of her mind.
Ryder Blackwell had been asking Lara out for months and each time she turned him down flat. There was nothing left to do but purchase the horse that she had her heart set on. That would get her out to his ranch and he knew that once he got her there the rest would be history.
This book was okay but it could have been a lot better. The story line started off good with Lara showing up at Ryder’s ranch all ticked off that he bought her horse and even how he kept her there for the weekend was okay even as unbelievable as it was. What I didn’t like was for one I thought that this was going to be a Christmas story but the only mention of Christmas were the twinkling of lights. Another was the fact the whole book takes place in less than a weekend and the worst part was how quickly Lara’s past came back to haunt her. I understand that it was a short novella but it was just a bit too much crammed into such a small book.

Mandy Baxter is writing about hot rich men! Honestly what more could you want? Oh a cowboy, you say. Well, she has that covered as well.
THE BILLIONAIRE COWBOY kicks off the Billionaire’s Club series with an alpha hero and some serious sexual tension! Ryder Blackwell has stolen something from Lara Montgomery that she wants badly. Bad enough that she is willing to spend a weekend with him to get it. It doesn’t sound as bad as that though because while you’re mind probably went straight to sex, Ryder actually just wants her to hang around his ranch for awhile.
As this is a novella and not a full length story, their romance heats up fast. Ryder isn’t the type of guy to dally for long. However, when someone from Lara’s past comes back into the picture, I felt that the climax and the resolution of that happened too fast. However, all in all, I found this to be an enjoying first romp into a brand new series. I cannot wait to see what Baxter has planned next!

This was a shorter read and while I can't say it was terrible, it wasn't one of the best books I have read. I just could not relate to the characters and the pace of the book. Everything happened way to quickly in terms of the plot for me to feel any kind of connection to the characters at all.
Ryder was portrayed as a very sexy good looking and hot rancher, he wanted Lara the local vet and would go to any length to get her in his bed. There was some good sex scenes in the book but just not a solid chemistry between the two. The characters lacked a certain depth that connects you with them. Everything happened way to fast, and there was little to no build up between the two or the plot. The twist that the author threw in at the end just didn't fit the story at all and it lacked a certain build up to it.
If you are looking for a quick read for an afternoon with nothing else to do and want to read a book with some hot sex and action in the sheets then this would be the perfect book. The intimate scenes between the two main characters was hot, steamy and sexy, so really, It wasn't terrible, but I have read better.

This story was a sexy quick read and Who doesnt love a cowboy?
Not that Ryder came across much as a cowboy, yes he owns a cattle ranch but this book played the billionaire card more than the cowboy card which i felt was a shame.
I found the events of the story to be over rather quick, everything in the plot happened in a space of 24 hours. which was ok but i found it hard to get to grips with the characters.
The characters lacked a certain depth that connects you to them, and there was little to no build up between Ryder or Lara.
The twist that the author threw in at the end just didn't fit the story at all and it felt a little forced, it lacked any kind of build up to it, and felt like it was thrown in just for dramatic effect, not to enhance the story at all.
There where brief encounters with secondary characters, but not any that would make a difference to the story if they were not there.
