I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.
My world puts a different twist on everything from vampires (they're alive) to elves (aliens) and demons (interdimensional djinn). The Alpha's Captive series features a kickass heroine out of the gate, while Cora's Choice series--followed my Cora's Bond and others--has my "big" character story line.
Yes, there's an HEA. :) But the story keeps going on!

Another book that does not end
I am really tired of non ending books. If you want told keep my attention please finish the book then publish it. I can promise you I will not check back to read the rest. I read a book a day and not a few chapters a day.

This series is okay, but it's really disappointing to purchase something that doesn't end and requires you to keep making purchases.

Same review posted to all parts of this serial.
Since this is a serial and I more or less read all the books in one sitting, I'm reviewing these books as one. All the books follow wolf shifter Levi and Harper, his voluntary hostage. Levi never really kidnapped Harper, she kidnaps herself. He steals her car and seeing as much as she loves the car, she jumps into the car while Levi is driving away.
The characters have good chemistry and hit it off from the very first page. Both Harper and Levi are a little dense as none of them ever consider their phones having GPS that can be tracked. It's something I saw from the very beginning, and it annoyed me that it never dawned on them even though the bad guys kept finding them time and time again. Seriously, how stupid can these characters get? I kept shaking my Kindle in hopes to shake some sense into these characters. True fax.
Levi and Harper kept putting themselves in these crazy situations that made me want to smack them upside their heads. There is a lot of drama and even more action in this story. At times it gets to be a little too much. It's that “too much” that pushes the books into annoying at times. An engaging story, though I'm not completely happy with how the story ended. It feels unresolved. Open ended.

Just when I was startig to really the characters they disappointed me to no end. The action in the story is really good still, with occasional small humorous moments. I hope within the next couple of installments Harper and Levi can get their emotions in check, that would be great!

Taken, Pursuit, & Flight Bundle: The Alpha's Captive BBW/Werewolf Paranormal Romance #3 I was give this box set to read and review I have read three books of this series and I have enjoyed them all.
Levi is Trouble with a captiol T he is always where trouble is and if there is trouble it wil find him. This book is a really good start for a series. This is the why Levi is always into something. His reasoning is always in the right but he never thinks it out. Harper is a sexy curvy woman who can hold her own in any situation. The cliffhanger ending had me waiting for the next book.This story starts rght where it ended in book one. Levi and Harper are still on the run. They have had little time to breath before the next problem crops up at their door. They are working well together in all kinds of situations. All I can say Is everybody beware of these two dangerous. There is a lot of suspense and drama in this series but you wilI be on the edge for happens Next!!

This is a serial and you need to read them in order. This is the 3rd of 7 episodes :) They are novella length and do not take long to get sucked and then you will be wanting more because it is over. :)
Definitely lots of action and some steamy bits :) So adults only!! Levi and Harper are still on a mission, and they are not having much luck. Of course they are messing things up with each other making me yell at the book. I’m hoping they get it together :)
V.M. does a great job with the descriptions. I can see everything happening in my head and get sucked right into the story. It was torture to not go straight into the next episode and by pass my review, but I couldn’t do it :)

V.M. Black gives her readers what they want and so much more. The Alpha's Captive series is captivating, intriguing, and well-written. The characters, the storyline and discovering all the dirty secrets suck you in and keep you on the edge of your seat. There are so many unknowns to these stories that just when you think you know what is going on, Ms. Black adds another twist to throw you off. Harper and Levi have a chemistry that leaps off the page. You can feel the sexual tension between them and you can't wait to see if anything more will come of it.

Levi is determined to finish what he started and things are not going his way. He's really upset when Harper is hurt and his wolf is thinking she's their mate and now he needs to stay away from her so he does not lead her on. Harper knows that Levi does not want her except for a roll in the hay and she knows it will not work out between them. Their still trying to find a reader for the SD card and another brilliant play that doesn't work and leave them to escape another dangerous situation.

I liked the writing. The story was really starting to get good. Unfortunately, the book has 4 more parts. To finish the book would be another $6. That puts the total way too high. I agree w/ other reviewers that this book is most appropriate for Kindle Unlimited. I really liked the story but I am not buying anymore. I rarely pay this kind of money for books by some of the biggest authors out there. Very disappointed.

This series just gets better with each book. The characters are great. Totally stubborn, but great.
I think this episode had me laughing more than the others.
If you like action and romance with a paranormal twist, this book is for you.

Safe place to hide
After Harper and Levi get away from there pursuers but totaling Harpers car in the water, it’s now time to find a place to hide for the night. And then they still have to retrieve the data and get it to the right people or they will never be safe. High action with high emotions running throughout this book. Well written and entertaining to read.
