Keller Family #8

The Acceptance

Rate this book
Tyler Benson’s world was shaken with the news that he had a sister—one he never knew he had. Though he loves his sister, and his family remains a tightly woven unit, he simply can’t shake the feeling of betrayal from his mother. After a sabbatical from his family to find himself it is time to head back home and try to pick up the pieces of his life.

Courtney Field has learned to deal with many tragedies. Losing her sight at eight-years-old was only a challenge that gave her many other skills. Now dealing with the loss of her brother in combat will no doubt teach her new lessons in life.

When Tyler meets Courtney on a South bound flight to Nashville he couldn’t possibly have expected that she’d be his lesson in accepting the things he cannot change or control. But can he reciprocate in helping her accept the loss of her brother when she learns the truth of his death?

I really enjoyed this book. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone - I did not read the other books in this series but enjoyed this one so much I plan to go back and read them. Tyler and Courtney are both dealing with issues. Courtney is accompanying the body of her brother who was killed in action. She is blind. Tyler is dealing with finding out he had a sister that was given up for adoption. I love Tyler and Courtney together. I love the way their relationship develops. I thought this book had really good character development and a really interesting storyline. Looking forward to reading more in this series!

Learning to Live

This series is addictive! I've loved every book so far in the Keller Family series. The Acceptance picks up with Tyler Benson finally coming home to Nashville and his family after being gone in search of himself. Just before his flight, a young woman, Courtney Field, drops her scarf which he retrieves for her. Courtney's brother was killed in combat, and she is escorting his body home with a military escort. He comforts her on the flight home, and they begin a friendship which will lead to more. This book deals with loss, grief, and finding love, along with family values.

I love stories about broken characters, especially ones who find a way to face their obstacles and overcome. Courtney was blind and instead of letting that define her, she found ways to adapt and live a fulfilling life and even arranging a meeting with a handsome stranger on a plane. I thought it was so funny that she had a superpower to sense things before they were revealed. Tyler ran when things got tough with his family, but he doesn't run from Courtney despite all the barriers she puts up in a place of hurt. I loved that Tyler found his purpose through his aunt's foundation and he helped Courtney find a place there too. His family was so warm and welcoming. This was a nice installment in the Keller series.

Tyler Benson has been away from home for 3 years. He has decided it's time to return. At the airport he meets Courtney Field who is accompanying home the body of her brother who died in action. They support each other on the flight, helping each other see their situations from a different perspective. Courtney is blind and is used to people treating her differently due to her disability. Tyler is different, he doesn't see her blindness as defining her, he doesn't jump in and take over and seems to know exactly what she needs without prompting.

This is my favourite book in the series, the only one I've given 5 stars to. Tyler Benson has matured in his time away and is an admirable man. I like how he treats Courtney with such respect and doesn't 'mother' her. Courtney is amazing, just amazing. It's other people who have a problem with her blindness not her, they're the ones who think she can't cope but she's fearless. She makes Tyler see the world differently.

This book is set 20 years after the previous book Center Stage and is about the next generation of the Keller Family. I was concerned that this was not a good move and was just and attempt to prolong a series of books which had come to a timely end. I was wrong, this book is equally as good as the rest of the series.

I found this series after searching for authors similar to Melody Anne. The main similarities to I can see is that the series focuses on a family and each member has a book dedicated to their love story. There is an individual plot in each book but also there's characters and a plot as an undercurrent through several books.
I enjoyed reading the book. The characters are believable, genuine and there's just enough plot to show the development of each character and their relationship. It makes a change to have a contemporary romance without detailed sex scenes, which I'm not opposed to, but they just aren't needed here and gives a certain class to the stories (there's none of the pants straining, groin twinging etc every other paragraph). I ended the book with a smile on my face looking forward to the next in the series.

Only Spencer and Avery left to find love now and I look forward to their stories.

Bernadette Marie has created this family that we love and we just can not get enough of. Tyler Benson was hurt and felt betrayed when he found out he had a sister that was given up for adoption that only a few knew about. So he left 3 yrs ago, only to come back once for his sisters wedding. Courtney Fields has been on a journey of her own. Her brother was killed in combat and she finally has him to bring him home. They meet as they are getting on the plane. They both are on a journey to find what they have been missing, or so they thought. Tyler was looking for the love of his family and to find the love that his cousins have with their partners. Courtney was looking for independence and to be loved by someone, not a burned. You see this is a story of seeing the world differently. Where you close your eyes and you envision what you want or think the world is like....It is not love at First Sight but Love at first Smell as Courtney says (Courtney is blind). Got to love Bernadette's Happy Ever Afters.

This was the first book I have read in this series. I absolutely loved it. The author, Bernadette Marie, shared such a beautiful story about loss and love and finding your way amongst difficult circumstances. This story is based primarily on two characters, Tyler and Courtney. Tyler is returning home after running away from his family after hearing a secret about a long-lost sister. Courtney is returning home to bury her beloved brother who was in the war.

Both characters were grieving, but they found each other and saw life through the other's eyes. I really just fell in love with them, not only them, but Tyler's whole family! They are the kind of family that everyone wants to have. This book just made me feel good! Even though difficult circumstances arose, the characters in this book really stood together and helped each other through. Just the way real families should. Thank you for writing such an incredible book!

Amazing!! This is the first book I have read by Bernadette Marie and it won't be the last. Marie is an excellent writer, every part of the book flowed smoothly. Being that this is book eight of The Keller Family Series, I was impressed that I didn't need a back story about the characters. The ease of reading book eight makes me want to read the first seven, mainly so I can know the whole story behind the Keller family. "The Acceptance" is a wonderful love story about Tyler Benson and Courtney Field who are both going through tough times. I loved the initial meeting of the two characters. Courtney drops her scarf and the rest of the book is created around that one act. There is a perfect mixture of romance, sorrow, love, and acceptance (perfect title for the book). By the end of the book I was craving more, Marie doesn't disappoint and I can't wait to read more of this series.

The Acceptance was a beautiful and emotional story.

I really enjoyed seeing Tyler and Courtney together, they were perfect for each other.

Tyler was such a wonderful guy with a beautiful heart. Courtney might have been blind but she didn't let it hold her back, I admired her strength and honesty.
I shed a few tears with her battle to accept her brothers passing, it tore my heart to see her go through it but Tyler was her strength, he would do anything to help her and did it from his heart.

Wonderful heartwarming read. The Acceptance is book 8 from the Keller Family series but it can be read as a standalone.

Thank you Netgalley and to 5 Prince Publishing for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

Tyler was a great guy with a big understanding heart. Even though Courtney was blind she didn't keyboard stop her. She has a strength that I admire and honestly hope I would be the same way in her situation. It broke my heart to see her struggle with the loss of her brother and I fell in love with Tyler as we watched him help her through it.

This is such an emotional, heartwarming and beautiful story. Tyler and Courtney were perfect for one another. I absolutely loved this book. For anyone who loves an emotional read would love this book.

The Acceptance is a sweet novel about the start of the relationship between Tyler and Courtney. Tyler has been away from his family after learning shocking news about his mother. Courtney is flying home, bringing home her brother home, a soldier who died in the middle East. The two meet on the plane and immediately feel a strong connection.

The book follows their fast but sweet budding relationship. I really liked both characters and liked how they helped each other through the difficult times. I think the author did a great job of writing a believably strong and connected pair of characters.

Tyler

Has finally found his peace and is on his way home to Nashville. Courtney is escorting her brother Fitz's body back for his funeral. She does her scarf by Tyler in the airport and he catches up with her to give it back. They end up helping each other. The one beautiful thing is she can't see him but she knows she can trust him.
