Lock and Key

Rate this book
Sarah Locke has had a bad couple of months.
After walking in on her boyfriend in bed with another woman, then getting laid off from her well paid, comfortable advertising job due to cut-backs, and finally watching her high-end apartment building burn down with all of her worldly possessions, she decides to walk away. She finds a small carriage house for rent out of the city, in a small town at the base of the mountains, and she transplants her life and tries to start over.

Kane Myers has had a bad couple of years.
Being the strong arm for the president of the Black Devils MC used to be a better gig. But once the president started sampling more of the product than he was selling, the club’s name was trash, and his job got tough. Really tough. The old prez was out but rebuilding a brand took time, and until that happened, Kane needed cash flow. Which is why he decided to sublet his carriage house.

It was hate at first sight.
Sarah is equal parts fascinated and repulsed by Kane’s mixture of tattoos and the collection of scars that cover his body, and she’s only mildly offended by his “couldn’t care less” attitude, but she really can’t stand the way he affects her. Kane loves pushing her, and more than that, he loves seeing her react. Soon they’re crossing lines they can’t step back over. But there’s a thin line between hate and love. And they might find, that’s a line they just don’t mind crossing.

I read this accidentally (thought I was reading other MC book of same name). It's super short, just a few chapters, so there's really no development, plot or real story. I can't recommend it.

Cute story

Very short and very cute story about starting over. If you only have a few minutes to spare then read this.

Sarah Locke’s life falls apart so she picks up and moves to a small town and meets Kane, prez of an MC. Then they have sex.

The (Kinda) Good
-I picked it up as a freebie on amazon (though I thought it was another book that HAD been recommended as a good read, so...yeah, that was disappointing)
-The plot of the book sounds great...in the blurb. That is not the story you get, but I digress…

The Bad
-the flow is horrible. It sets up a story, (though the writing is pretty shallow I did get the setup), then proceeds to go off the rails...
And everything is just fine. No explanation, no angst, nothing. It’s just accepted. More sex. The End.

The Bottom Line
It’s like the notes to an idea for a story(49 pgs), not a full story. I can’t recommend it.

Lock and Key review

Lock and Key started off really well, but then it abruptly ended. It was too short. I would have loved to see more to this story. This was done so cut and dry that it was too fast. I was starting to fall in love and then BAM it was over. :( If there was a second one that was longer and not a novella, I totally would read it.

This is one of those I didn't love it but it has potential books. Storyline flowed pretty well in the beginning but was rushed at the ending. Sarah and Kane have chemistry but clash part of the time. Kane loves to push her buttons.

Short Story

This is a short story which unfortunately limits the character development or H and h connection. This was a little bit too "wham bam (oh, that was it....are we done already?)" for me. Good storyline though and an unexpected development near the end.
