Trois faux petits amis.
Had some great potential, but i really struggled with some continuity issues. Maybe it was my lack of Texas town knowledge, but I was very confused by where people where and how moving from one place to another would make it easier to see people that you were running into regularly in the original town. I might be over obsessing on this issue, but it is truly baffling my mind.
Olivia Chase has spent some six years making her gaming company Death Crunch Media what it is today, but that success has now attracted lots of vultures who want a piece of it. Some want to buy her out and not even give her any say in the company she built from the ground up! She was about to place her company on the public market and these other companies are trying to buy her out before that happens. They are working on launching their next game and so she has been working non-stop. Her best friend persuaded her to go on a date once she decided not to sell up, but it was yet another disaster of a date with someone who clearly didn’t appreciate a curvy figure! Her old friend Heather had tried to get her to come back home to Iversteen for a break and so she calls her up and decides to take her up on the offer. Heather won’t be there, but she will have the run of her apartment and can feed her fish and her cat, whilst she is there. What she didn’t realise was that she was going to be living practically next door to her college crush, Ethan. He is a bit of a failed musician whose own band has just dropped him, and has been working with his college friend Jax, a former hockey player who was injured and came home to work on new ideas and who is also Heather’s brother. He came up with the idea of making social experiment videos online! Two years ago, their other partner Marcus, a psychiatrist, joined them on their WeTube channel and came up with the name Love Lab, for a new concept about dating. He came up with the idea of putting people into weird dating situations and seeing how they react. All on camera of course!
Ethan and Olivia practically run into each other outside their shared apartment block, as he returns after a run, and both are shocked but looking at each other a bit longer than would be polite. As they start asking about each other, she mentions her company had been trying to launch a dating simulator game. Jax has been funding their channel, using his money from playing professionally, but he is also running out of money. Ethan suggests she comes on their dating show, as she seems like an expert on what not to do on a date as they are. She could meet some men on their show and could use it as some real-life inspiration for her dating sim. Ethan and the guys will pick a few eligible bachelors for her to date and people should love the whole, getting back into dating vibe she brings after her rough recent experiences. Unfortunately, her date doesn’t show up, so Jax volunteers to step in for her date and the chemistry lights up the screen. Marcus and Ethan soon join them at the table, and they all seem to get on really well and it was all caught on camera. They soon decide on Olivia taking turns to have dates with each of them, but leaves her with a bit of a problem, as she finds herself attracted to each of them! First Jax, who soon has her continuing her date with him, all the way back to her borrowed bedroom! It seems their channel ate up the show, completely loving the fact she is considering dating all three of them! The viewers are calling it the Quad Dating Edition and it has been going viral. Next date is with Marcus, and they find their date interrupted by a woman called Charlie Green, who runs a channel called Unmasked Truths that likes to dig up dirt on creators and causing drama. She accuses them of faking that they are really all vying for Olivia’s attention on these dates, calling their Love Lab edition as fake and pathetic. Olivia doesn’t take Charlie’s comments well and dumps her soup all over her head, which enrages Charlie, who threatens them all!
Thanks to Charlie breaking into their date and it ending so drastically, everything is online and the comments, good and bad are flowing in. Even Olivia’s mum calls her, not even knowing she was in town until she was told about the date on WeTube. Charlie has even dragged the police into the disturbance she started, alleging threats made to her by them and intimidation. She wants to put an end to their Love Lab show and is claiming emotional distress. Charlie knows how to stir up trouble and with a hot shot lawyer husband, she gets away with it far too much. Ethan had known exactly who she was, and they need a lawyer of their own to stop her insisting on their episode being pulled from their channel and their experiment being cancelled altogether! Dating gets a bit intense, as both her first dates ended with her sleeping with each man, and her hoping Ethan might get jealous enough to think about her as more than just an old crush. When their legal matters get worse, they need to figure out just why Charlie is targeting them so harshly and Olivia might be just the one to figure it all out. She can’t figure out what is happening with Jax, Marcus and Ethan, in terms of any sort of serious relationship, but she also can’t seem to let any of them go. She confronts all three and tells them that she likes each of them and can’t push any of them away. The news of exactly why Charlie is so mad at them soon becomes fairly clear and is very personal to Charlie, but she is kind of blaming the wrong person. Legal matters will force Jax to take a deeply personal choice to rectify an unknown from his past, whilst Marcus gets threats by his ex-wife about any further access to his daughter, if they continue in this relationship with Olivia, and these issues could end up breaking them all apart. They all have to figure out what they are going to do about their unusual relationship and how much they want to take other people’s opinions to heart, when it comes out. Olivia has news of her own as it turns out she is also pregnant and she has no idea who is the father of her child, and she doesn’t really want to! Retuning back to Austin on her own might be the only way to stop the heartache and save her own company that has been dragged into all of this mess.
Great fun to see how Olivia ends up in the dating hot seat when she meets her college crush, who still treats her as a friend, not a love interest. Jealousy when Jax and Marcus get close to her, soon has him having to rethink matters, but an outside source is working even harder to split them apart and wreck their business. The chemistry is hot, hot, hot! With Olivia deciding to have her bit of fun whilst she is visiting her old hometown, always thinking she would only be there for a few days or weeks, never moving back as such, she has no idea where this relationship will go. A small town is not really ready for a quad relationship, not even friends and family to start with. A lovely idea for a successful businesswoman in her own right, struggling with dating those who make their hatred of fuller figures plain and not even polite, which Olivia has to fight against all the time. Until she finds her three special men! Great fun to read, but with some problems along the way, reading me to want to read more from this author in the future. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout, and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
So I made it through this book, but it was difficult. The storyline just never made a lick of sense. I wanted to like it, but it just lacked clarity and a real plot. Nothing made sense. Why would one just take a break from your own company when it was in a critical phase. I have zero problem with her hooking up with all 3 MMC, because well done lady! It was more of how that all happened. I don’t want to issue spoilers so don’t read any further down if you don’t want to know!
How does Jax have a kid that he never knew about when they insist he knew? That was never explained. How does one just have a bunch and get a lawyer to get a birth certificate and he is named father on it? Then she is dating her previous therapist or her mother’s because that wasn’t clear. Her bestie doesn’t stand by her. The random use of lawyers. Some characters are rich but no way to know how or why. Then they just love her. She loves them. It jumps time frames like wild without any context and all of a sudden in the end they have a massive home together? For that matter the whole love lab thing didn’t even make sense. Was it an app? Were they matchmaking people? What was the purpose of it and why did these three men come together to figure it out? How did they even meet and connect? You had a good concept, but not fully flushed out.
Tess Chase's "Faking with Three" plunges readers into a chaotic and steamy world of fake dating, turning the trope up to eleven with a "why choose" reverse harem twist. The story offers a fun and fast-paced ride, fueled by sizzling chemistry and comedic mishaps, yet ultimately struggles under the weight of plot inconsistencies and editing issues, resulting in a read that's entertaining but undeniably flawed.
Olivia, a successful but burnt-out gaming company CEO, seeks respite in her hometown, only to be unexpectedly swept into a whirlwind of fake romance. Her neighbor, Ethan, along with his Love Lab WeTube channel co-hosts, Jax and Marcus, propose a wild scheme: Olivia will fake date all three of them to boost their channel's struggling viewership. What begins as a ridiculous publicity stunt quickly ignites into genuine attraction as Olivia finds herself connecting with each man on a deeper level. Ethan, her childhood crush, Marcus, the brooding single dad, and Jax, her best friend's forbidden brother, each bring something different to Olivia's life, blurring the lines between pretense and reality. However, secrets from the past, external pressures, and an unexpected pregnancy threaten to unravel their unconventional relationship, forcing Olivia and her three suitors to navigate the complexities of their burgeoning polyamorous romance and decide if their love is strong enough to withstand public scrutiny and personal challenges.
"Faking with Three" offers an entertaining and escapist reverse harem romance with a fun premise and plenty of spice, appealing to readers seeking a lighthearted and trope-filled read. However, the numerous editing and plot inconsistencies are a significant drawback, hindering the overall reading experience and preventing the story from fully realizing its potential. The book promises a wild and chaotic ride, and it delivers on that front, but readers should be prepared to overlook noticeable flaws in execution.
An entertaining but flawed reverse harem romance that earns a 2 out of 5 stars. It delivers on the core appeal of spice and chaotic fun, but significant editing and plot issues detract from the overall quality and impact of the story.
My Rating System: 1⭐️: The book didn’t hold my interest and/or had significant issues that overshadowed any redeeming qualities for me, but generally not my cup of tea. Most likely did not finish the book. 2⭐️: The book didn’t quite resonate with me, and while my experience wasn’t remarkable, I did finish it. It had some redeeming qualities and potential but fell short in execution. Recommendable, though with some reservations. 3⭐️: Good read, but didn’t quite stand out. Still worth recommending to others. 4⭐️: Really enjoyed it and stayed engaged throughout. Would read book again. Definitely recommendable. 5⭐️: Incredible writing that made me deeply connect with the characters. I was completely absorbed in the world and didn’t want it to end. This book stayed with me even when I wasn’t reading it. I'd gladly reread it and highly recommend it to everyone!.

Faking with Three is the story of Olivia, the owner of Death Crunch Media, a gaming company she founded and grew from the ground up to IPO presentation. As Olivia deals with the reality of a growing company and the potential for a buyout, she returns to her hometown for some much needed rest.
As Olivia stays in her best friend's apartment, she crosses paths with her college crush Ethan, who just happens to be her neighbor. Those college day feelings return in full force and Olivia wonders if the feelings could be mutual.
Ethan, along with his friends Jax and Marcus are the creators of a WeTube channel Love Lab and they are looking for a way to grow their channel and make a life for themselves. Ethan suggests that Olivia join them in a segment on their channel as she has a game that could tie in to their plan to expand.
What starts out as trying to find dates for Olivia quickly turns into her fake dating the guys from Love Lab, except Olivia has a connection with all three men and they start to have feelings for her. Each man takes Olivia on dates and a local influencer crashes several of them making scenes and creating problems for the team.
Long lost secrets come to the surface and test the groups committment to each other and threaten the balance they are find together. With the well being of an innocent child in the balance, Jax makes the tough decision to walk away from the woman he loves to be the father his son needs. Then another curveball is thrown their way and the four have to come together to navigate the changes that are coming their way and what it means for their futures.
This was a sweet story of found family, working through tough decisions and seeing that the best things in life aren't always planned and are worth fighting for.
This is a 💛M/FMM BOOK 📖 ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 My favorite quote in the whole book “God🔒🔒🔒🔒it,” he mutters, frantically turning off the burner. “I forgot I put oil on to heat up.” I burst out laughing. “You were making something before you went out for a run? Who does that?” He turns, looking sheepish, a smudge of soot on his cheek. “Clearly, I do. And clearly, I’m an idiot.” “Clearly,” I say, grinning as I wave the smoke away from my face. “Want me to call the fire department, or should I just handle this myself?” ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ "If 'Book Hangover' was a medical diagnosis, I’d be in the ICU right now. This story hit every single emotional note with the precision of a world-class orchestra. It has that rare 'vacation magic' where you forget your own name for 300 pages and then wake up at the end feeling like a brand new person. A true 5-star experience is supposed to feel like a high-end holiday for your imagination, and this one delivered a first-class ticket. It has that sense of completion that is so hard to find where every thread is tied, every emotion is earned, and you’re left sitting in silence for twenty minutes after the final period just staring at the wall. It’s that 'magical vacation' vibe where you’re sad it’s over, but you’re so filled with the warmth of the journey that you can’t even be mad at the flight home.
Olivia is independent and driven by passion for the business she’s built from the ground up but, finding herself feeling overwhelmed and unlucky in love, she decides to take a break back in her hometown. There she reconnects with three men from her youth, Ethan, Marcus and Jax, all of whom were significant to her. They have been running an online channel, setting up social experiments around dating, and they invite Olivia to go on a “date” for an episode. When her date backs out, Jax steps in and charms Olivia, causing Ethan and Marcus to battle with their own feelings for Olivia. The “date” with Jax leads to a “date” with Marcus and then Ethan as they tease their audience with the idea of the three of them each trying to start a relationship with Olivia. However, behind the scenes, things become a lot more real and heated between Olivia and each of the men, and when they find out about each other, they have to decide how they can hold on to what they have with Olivia and as friends. This is an intricate story exploring polyamory, with strong, well-developed characters with unique personalities. They face how to deal with their growing feelings, but also issues with new and existing relationships outside of their quad and outside forces which they can’t control. Recommended for readers looking for an engaging why choose romance with sizzling dialogue, drama and satisfying steam.

Things to look forward to in this story: Fake relationship(s) Why Choose Reverse Harem A WeTube channel Childhood friends to lovers Best Friends Banter Smexy scenes Twists and turns you never see coming Surprise oopsy pregnancy.
Olivia has had enough. Between the demands of selling her video game company and the lack of decent dates in her city she decides a trip back home is exactly what the doctor ordered.
What she wasn’t expecting? To run into her childhood crush, Ethan, living down the hall, and his two besties, Jax and Marcus.
Each person in this story seems to be looking for something and I think in the end they found exactly what they needed. I absolutely love found family and childhood crushes turned into lovers and I got both!
I was THRILLED to see a plus size FMC because let’s be honest. We aren’t all skinny and models. Liv was easy to relate to. She has self esteem worries like any woman. The guys seemed real too. I felt like the characters were well developed. The plot gave us just enough to make us want more and the smexy scenes were scattered throughout and perfectly created. Plus the twists and turns… I did NOT see coming!
I read this book in one setting because I simply couldn’t put it down. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a cute and charming reverse harem story with steamy scenes. You won’t be sorry!
Olivia returns to her hometown to take a break from work. While she is away, her best friend offers her an apartment.
Olivia finds out her neighbour is her teenage crush, Ethan. When they catch up, he tells her that he and his two friends, Jax, her best friend's brother, and Marcus run a WeTube channel. While chatting about the channel, a new idea forms, and Ethan asks Olivia to take part in the experiment.
While Olivia and the 3 men experiment, things don't go smoothly because of another journalist who is determined to sabotage their experiment. But why is she doing this?
Olivia finds she is attracted to all 3 men and vice versa. This causes tension between the men. Ethan then comes up with another idea, which will benefit them all, if Olivia and the other two are interested. Can his idea work?
All 4 have to deal with their deep feelings for one another when the experiment was originally just a hook to help create content to help the failing channel. Also having to deal with other issues which are raised while doing so. Is this new information going to derail their journey through the whole experiment?

1. I would have given this book more stars if it had been “complete.” All of Tess Hales books that I have read (yes I’ve read several to see if something would change in her style a bit) are just incomplete. The endings are always really anti-climactic and open ended.
2. She (the author) desperately NEEDS epilogues(s). She claims to have them at the end of her books by way of links but the links don’t work. They don’t open, ie there is NOTHING there! She leaves you hanging and not in a good way!!
3. She has a way of creating natural plot conflict (which is good) but never fully resolving the conflict at all!! Everything ends in a kinda HEA without really knowing what that HEA is all about. That ties in to the incomplete feeling of her books.
So, in conclusion, I’m tired of reading her books. I’m tired of getting the beginning of a really potentially terrific RH, only to end up scratching my head, not only from complete disbelief at how un-dramatic her dramas end, but the fact that her books don’t really end…they just HANG THERE.
fake love romance. (harem reverse) Olivia is a boss of her video game company, only after Jason's company went public and a date that falls through she decides to spend a vacation in her hometown with her best friend who is away. *Faking with Three* follows Olivia, the owner of Death Crunch Media, a gaming company on the verge of an IPO. Seeking a break, she returns to her hometown and reconnects with her college crush, Ethan, who happens to be her neighbor. Ethan and his friends, Jax and Marcus, run a WeTube channel, *Love Lab*, and invite Olivia to join them for a segment to help grow their brand.
What starts as a fake dating scheme soon turns into something deeper as Olivia connects with all three men. Tensions rise when a local influencer stirs up trouble, and long-buried secrets threaten their relationships. As Jax makes a tough decision for his son, the group must face new challenges together, leading to a heartwarming HEA.
This is a sweet, spicy story of found family, love, and unexpected connections, with a relatable, curvy FMC who’s also a gamer. The *why choose* dynamic works beautifully, and while there are some editing hiccups, the overall journey is fun and heartwarming.
Reads VERY similar to 'Faking With Benefits' This has a youtube show instead of a podcast show. The 'therapist' has actual qualifications, but same one older, sporty person, extra guy dynamic.
Olivia is super smart and focused, her self-built buisness is about to go public and possibly be sold - so she disappears away to flat sit?! So she can forget being smart and focus on the guys. It starts ok but then oh she has a longterm crush on one, that came from nowhere. The writing is repetitive and not always easy to follow whose thinking/saying what.
She has oops sex with each of them in turn while they're all friends cue competition.
The sex is from their pov so blonde hair, big boobs, freckles. Then she walks away. They try to talk, she tries to walk, they all end up in bed.
There's too many povs none distinctive enough. I kept pausing to work out which 'I' it was and not really caring.
First, it’s just so refreshing to have an FMC that’s curvy. Lately it feels that every book I read they’re all 5’2” petite brunettes with little to no personality, Liv is so far from that.
The way that you get three very distinct relationships in this book is so wonderful. Each of the love interests brings a different dynamic to the story. The spice is this too is just *chefs kiss*
I love a good “why choose” and this one definitely hit the mark.
My 4 instead of 5 star rating is mainly due to a lot of editing errors and parts of the book that just don’t make sense. Since I did receive this as an ARC, I’m hoping that most of it will be fixed by its release so readers can enjoy a smoother experience!.

Enjoyed this cute and charming book with its consistent dashes of spice. I suggest paying attention so as not to miss the twists and turns that this group gets into! But you will enjoy this ride and where it leads! I enjoyed the storyline of reconnection and how to openly embrace all forms of love. And i totally love Girl Bosses! Yassss!! And she’s a gamer! I was totally fist pumping for all us female gamers baby! Well rounded how all the MMC bring something she needed to the table and eventually put her first. Some parts didn’t flow as well as i would have liked, but the story comes together in a HEA to make your heart happy. Crack this book and see how long you can fake it with these 3 enticing MMC!.

Oliva is a successful business woman who has her own video company and has several companies that want to buy her out. She decides to take a break and go home and stay with her best friend who is not there. Oliva runs into Ethan who lives in the building and someone Olivia has had a crush on. Then there is Marcus who was her mother's psychiatrist and Jax who is her best friend's brother. They are launching a WeTube channel on dating. She takes them up on it. Laughter, good times, attractions and other things happen.

this book was soooo similar to faking with benefits but as soon as i started this book (like instantly) i loved it just as much. idc that there were so many parallels, if i love a book im gonna consume everything about it. i truly loved the way liv got with each guy and that they also had to learn how to do this poly relationship, it was new to all of them and it was cute to see them figure it out. charlie was the most annoying bitch out there, she had her reasons but they were so null. i wish the whole pregnancy was a bigger part of the book and not the last 40 pages but whatever. i loved this book sm and will definitely reread. i miss them already😔😔
This is a fake dating to real feelings situation. I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were written pretty well. The plot was there with lots of drama. If you like plus size and why choose books then this is for you. I would have liked to see more of the situations described in more detail because those situations were apart of the storyline and it did feel like some of it was glossed over at the end. But that might just be my opinion and curiosity.

This was an entertaining read and a fun RH romance. The start of this story was a little slow but once it got going, it was full steam ahead ;) I really liked Olivia. She's killer as a boss lady/gamer girl and a plus sized hottie. Marcus, Ethan and Jax were fab and each brought something different to the table, making a perfect 'quad' family with her. There's definitely drama, angst, family, love in all forms and a hot romance that leads to a wonderful HEA in here, so be prepared to be glued to your reader ;D Good fun!
I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and made me giggle put loud more than once. I loved all of the characters and can't even pick my favourite. The book was well written with a fantastic story and character depth. The only reason it lost 1 star was due to the unrealistic recovery time of all 3 men in the bedroom. I would definitely recommend this book to others and am just about to go and check out more of Tess Chase's books.

While I wasnt sure what I was getting into reading this I was quite surprised. I wont give spoilers but I will say this does open you to seeing Love in a different but good way. The story was solid and the spice was just enough. I am wanting to read a follow up on these characters as I believe there is alot more story to tell. So if you like why chose then this give this a try.

This is a fun breather between books for me. It is sweet and it is found family. I enjoy Olivia is returning home and this is to take some rest and this is where she meets Ethan, her crush from college. He and his friends come up with an idea for their WeTube and ask Olivia if they can find dates for her. She goes along this but dates the guys from Love Lab now too. A fun read but a good story with well developed characters.
The idea of creating a polyamorous relationship on camera ... not just dating each man to eliminate them until she chooses one ... was great.
Olivia, Ethan, Jax and Marcus were well-developed, fun characters. The storyline had enough twists and turns to keep you guessing. Tons of steam and feels. Great book.

There were alot of plot holes. Why did Charmaine never make an appearance? What ended up happening with Adam? He wanted a relationship with Adam but just ended up moving to Austin???
Also, 3 men that have never shared a woman, all of a sudden share Olivia??
What ended up happening with Marcus and his daughter? Why was Jax’s sister upset with Olivia? There were so many plots going on I didnt know what was happening.
⭐️⭐️.5 I’m not sure what to even say. This is not your typical RH read. It kinda starts off with the FMC sleeping with them all behind their backs. And when they find out it’s resolved so quickly it gives you whiplash. If fact, most conflict resolves so quick it’s gone in the blink of an eye. Also there seemed to be some inconsistencies with geography i couldn’t wrap my head around. All this to say it made it difficult to enjoy
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This was a pleasant story, decent flow and character development. If you're into the social media scene, you'll probably like it. It needs a lot of editing. There are places in paragraphs or even chapters where you can tell edits were made, but not reviewed for consistency.

I usually love why choose books and while I genuinely liked the characters I feel like the story line itself had so much going on. It had an original plot which I love but I just didn’t click with it like I thought I would. I look forward to reading more from Tess Chase and seeing if those feelings change.

This was such a cozy read for me. It had me laughing, blushing, and feeling invested in the characters. Especially Miss Liv, who I could relate to. Some of the story could have flowed better, but hey, life isn’t perfect either. I enjoyed seeing how all of them came together. Liv deserved her HEA.

It took me a little bit to get into the story, but once I was in I was hooked! There’s a bit of drama but the love between Marcus, Olivia, Jax and Ethan was sweet. Loved reading along on how they figure out their quad journey!.
